The area getting to the property was a little scary

A physically beautiful hotel, inside and out, incredibly convenient to the main attractions of Ravenna (the Basilica of Sant' Apollinare Nuovo, one of the top five, is literally across the street). Largest hotel room we've ever had in Europe. Super-comfortable hotel lounge areas festooned with well-chosen coffee-table art books. Lovely open-air garden area with chairs. Pleasantly helpful staff. The hotel is also a short block away from a large (for Europe) chain supermarket. The hotel breakfast wasn't as sumptuous as the one at the I Portici hotel in Bologna, but it was good.

Some details of disabled access could easily be improved. The ramp next to reception, spanning the curb from reception to the first lounge area, was way too steep for our rented mobility scooter; the non-disabled one of us consistently had to lift the heavy device over the ramp. And it would be great if there were a ramp at the hotel entrance, instead of a steep curb. The one thing wrong with the otherwise excellent room was the lack of an electric kettle for boiling water.

Wonderful ambience of an elegant palazzo convenient for both the railway station and Centro Storico. We stayed here during the July 2023 heatwave and could not have been more comfortable in both the 17 m2 room and the fabulous public rooms. Due to a transient power cut in the local area the air conditioning malfunctioned on one night. This meant the room was slightly warmer, but not uncomfortably so. We were spontaneously given a 15% discount, which I thought was very generous. Extremely comfortable bed. Excellent and sumptuous breakfast.

I had never been to the town of Ravenna so I had no idea what to expect. The hotel was once a grand house. The entry is beautiful, staff is excellent. Facilities are very clean and the rooms simple yet elegant. The room reminded me of old New York City if you stayed in the Village in the 1960’s , cool , simple and chic. The linens and the pillows are some of the best I’ve slept in on this journey. I thought my room was dark at first and found behind the curtains shutters where closed. I opened them to find I overlooked the courtyard and the sun steamed into my room. I took a glorious nap to birds singing. I loved that the most about the room. The water pressure was great and modern.

everything was perfect

The hotel is located in downtown Ravenna close to historic monuments and pedestrian areas. Even it is in ZTL (zona traffico limitato), you can park your car in the yard. The building inside is amazing: like a palace. The room (actually an apartment) was very big (with a ceiling height of appr. 4 meters) the bed was ok, but the mattress was not enough hard. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was smiley and helpful. For the price in return, you may get more than you initially expected.

Our apartment (nr. 40.) was next to the street (limited traffic) and there is room to improve the acoustical performance of the window elements

Excellent location, beautifully maintained

The older man at breakfast was most unfriendly, never a smile or response to ciao or Buongiorno. He was rude and was the exception to an otherwise very welcoming and hard working staff. The air conditioning did not work in our room despite help from the housekeeping staff. Terrible when the outside temperature was around 30C. The building itself is well maintained and beautiful and the location is central to all of the important sights of Ravenna

Location very central. Breakfast was excellent and the breakfast room was lovely. The staff overall was very nice and accommodating. Finding the hotel is Very hard because picture is of courtyard not front. The sign is on the wall and is hard to see. The bathroom was dated but plenty of hot water and water pressure. My economic room was very small, but not problem for 1 person. Bed was very comfortable and the area is very quiet for a good night sleep.

It is seriously a palace, the ceiling in the room is absolutely stunning, worth a museum one. The location is right at one of the landmark of the town, early christian cathedrals, Basilica di Sant Appolinari Nuova, and it is worth visiting them all. The breakfast is very good.

The bottled water in the room is at charge, there is no tea pot (and it’s not possible to get hot water in the hotel), the fridge is so tiny it can only hold one bottle of wine, so in the evening you are bound to go out.

The rooms were huge and the beds were comfortable. The walk to the town center was easy and pleasant. The staff were super helpful and the breakfast spread was beautiful and tasty. Fresh fruit and great cappuchino.

The walk from the train station was a little sketchy. I would not recommend this walk at night, but our walk happened to be during the day. At night, I would definately recommend a taxi even though it's a short walk.

Our booked standard room had a minor bathroom leak issue and so we were upgraded to a larger, gorgeous room with a very high, painted ceiling. The room was absolutely beautiful. The hotel was clean and had a friendly atmosphere. Staff are really polite and most helpful. Breakfast was wonderful and the breakfast waiter so kind. I would stay again should I return to Ravenna.
