Perfect location close to amenities and metro station, very clean rooms and the bathroom. Newly furbished room. super helpful staff.

Breakfast is a little bit overpriced imho. If you are a vegetarian your breakfast sandwich cannot be exchanged for a version without meat.

Situated in a beautifully renovated old building, the hostel is very clean, well designed, and spacious. Splitting the toilet from the shower is an excellent touch, and both are cleaned every day. There is no shortage of space to store luggage in your room, and the black out curtains are much appreciated. Although not located in the centre of Rome, the hostel is a 10-minute walk from the main train station (great for day trips and getting to and from the airport - even by bus), a 5-minute walk from one of the best gelateria in Rome (Gelateria Fassi), 10-miute walk from several major supermarkets, and a 15-minute walk from the Coliseum and many authentic local Italian restaurants.

If staying for an extended period of time, I would suggest that you ask the staff to change your bedding during your stay as the mattress projector can make you quite hot. Otherwise, no complaints.

I really enjoyed my stay at Generator! I was travelling alone and stayed in a 4-bed girl dorm. I found the facilities to be really good - especially the shower pressure - and once the bottom sheet was on the bed, it was really comfy. I liked that each bed had its own light, plug socket, and a pocket to store things in, and the storage bins were really spacious. I didn't spend much time in the hostel but the staff I did encounter were friendly and helpful.

I was a bit surprised by how expensive the drinks in the bar were - much more than at restaurants/bars for drinks that weren't as high quality. With it being a hostel bar, I thought it would have been cheaper.

If you are into sightseeing, this property is an ideal place on the map. Almost equally distant from all the major Rome sights. You will be able to organize your sightseeing in rounds either by metro or by bus. The property itself is way above the average in cleanliness, as per the Rome standard. It is well-maintained and has a cozy roof terrace with a nice night view and cocktails. The staff is really helpful and proverbial South Italian grumpiness is almost untraceable. The beds and linen are clean and the rest of the room is sanitized properly.

The area around the property is, let's put it gently, abhorrently filthy. Rome is really unclean place anyway, but this is just awful. So, mind your step and watch where you sit. Also, please abstain from using streetcars, as they are moving hepatitis.

A good place for a first acquaintance with the Eternal City. I lived in a room with 6 people, my neighbors were respectable and pleasant people. The room was clean, the bed linen was nice, the pillows were good. The bathroom has all the amenities, there is a heated towel rail, very pleasant liquid soap, and hot water in the shower. The hostel staff is friendly and organized. Pros: - very close to the train station Termini - There is a park (Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II) nearby where you can get water from a drinking fountain. ! Important points ! - if you don’t have a towel with you, you can rent one for 5 euros at the reception - be sure to take indoor slippers/flip-flops with you if you don’t want to walk around in socks or barefoot

Maybe the neighbourhood a little, because of rubbish, graffiti and some people. But it's a usual things in places like near the train stations.

The hostel is very clean and beautiful, the have a rooftop for you to meet new people and feel the vibe ( but the food is just fine) , I’m staying in 4 female dorm and it’s a big one , everybody can open the suitcase ! Also the AC is good , very comfy. Closed to the termini station and other Metro A! Have laundry room for you €4 for wash and €4 for dry ! Worth it !

That area is terrible, many people stayed around and stared at you even blew the whistle, but they won’t get closer to you(maybe) You just need to past 1 district and everything would be fine. Don’t go to termini station way , but the metro behind you.

The room was spacious, staff helpful and friendly. Everything was clean and beds were comfortable.. We liked the feel and atmosphere of the place and particularly enjoyed the roof terrace in the mornings. The surrounding area felt safe and it was a great location-close to train station and good restaurants. We have stayed in generator hostels in London and Copenhagen and this was the best by far

Only thing that would have improved the experience would have been if there was access to the roof terrace in the afternoon or evening. But this is a minor thing

The hotel/hostel was very nice and very clean(a beacon of cleanliness and safety in an otherwise dirty neighborhood), the staff was very friendly. The rooftop lounge was very nice. The hotel was like 1 minute from the metro which was great. We booked a hotel room for two, which was spacious and nice with a view over some old aqueducts.

The neighborhood can be a little scary at night, but the hotel is super close to the metro and the outside of the hotel itself is very clean and safe compared to the other blocks. A minor inconvenience, barely worth mentioning, was that the staff forgot to refill our toiletpaper rolls which I only realized in a midnight bathroom trip. But other than that we had no issues.

Each room has its own key cards used to get in the building and into own dorms/rooms so felt very secure. Everything was clean, we had charging ports in each bunk and the room was spacious. The locker boxes to lock your bag in also added another level of security, just bring your own lock :) There are privacy screens on each bunk bed and the room was fairly quiet during the night, maybe a bit of street traffic but nothing that kept us up.

Unsure if the aircon wasnt working or if no one in our room could use it properly but even in June the room wasnt unbearably hot. They have a no food policy which means you cant cook and save money through grocery shopping but overall there are some cheap options around Rome so its fine. Because of the location near the train station, its not located in the best area, felt dodgy at times but myself and my friend (two teenage girls) had no issues and its a close walk to most key areas which is great.
