This is an exceptional abode, not for the faint hearted if you have luggage to carry but the climb to the top is worth it to sleep amongst the rooftops of Siena. We saw a lightning storm in the distance and woke to a pink sunrise and swifts feeding and the sound of church bells. A delightful breakfast served on vintage china on a tray in the room made for a very relaxing start to the day. Big comfy bed dressed with antique linen covers and the simple but tasteful styling, all in white, made it a peaceful haven. Francesca was a welcoming and very helpful host, giving us an earlier breakfast and helping us to get a taxi.

The stairs, it's a long climb, but then you don't come to Italy without expecting it if you want a view. Don't let it put you off- it's worth it!

We loved our stay. Our host was very responsive and helpful. The location was convenient for all of our needs and the street was quiet. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented and served in our high-ceilinged room at a table for two in front of the large window looking out at the rooftops beyond. The furnishings in the room were lovely and there were lots of interesting, artful objects to look at and books in the common room.

We were not deterred in the least by the many flights of stairs we had to climb with our luggage, but if several flights of stairs would be an uncomfortable challenge for you, this accommodation would not suit you.

Incredible panoramic view of the city with an exceptionally comfortable bed; I woke up this morning and simply didn’t want to get out. Cosy, practical room with tea station, little fridge and desk. Love the clean, contemporary aesthetic. Highlight was listening to the bell towers chime each hour whilst we drank wine with the window open - bliss!

Bench seat, although gorgeous, was a little wobbly. It would have been lovely to have had a cosy chair to have stretched out on with such a breathtaking view - but this certainly didn’t detract from our stay and we we would 100% stay again.

Great location in a beautiful historic building -- our room was very spacious with high ceiling and two large windows. Our host, Francesca, was very pleasant and asked for our breakfast selection (via WhatsApp), which she called "breakfast in bed" as we ate in our bedroom (served on a silver tray).

Adding a street address to the name of the residence would be helpful -- we were drenched when we got to Siena from walking in the rain from Monteriogionni (we hiked on the Via Francigena from Lucca to Siena), and we had trouble with the screen of our phone given the rain (battery was pretty drained too) looking for the location. This said Francesca was very patient with us and assisted us (via phone) in getting us to 1550 Residenza d'Epoca.

An outstanding little hotel in a very nicely renovated palazzi in the very center of Siena. Francesca, the host, runs this wonderful place with a lot of care and love and we felt welcome from the first moment. The room was wonderfully decorated, perfectly clean, quiet and very comfortable. With its homemade breakfast à la carte, served on a tray on the room, our stay was just a perfect weekend in Siena.

We absolutely loved our room! the view that we woke up to everyday with breakfast delivered was beautiful. The location was a little up the road but nothing to complain about, we walking into the town everyday and was easy to find everything. The beds were comfy and the room was very spacious.

there are 61 steps nothing to complain about, we knew about it and i think made it just better carrying our suitcases haha

Residenza d’Epoca is in a superb location, within Siena’s old city walls and within walkable distance to all Siena has to offer (attractions, restaurants and the train/bus station too). The B&B is beautiful, with amazing painted ceilings and antique furniture. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable and everything we required was provided as in the photographs and information on Booking.com. The breakfast was also delicious, and provided in our room.

Francesca was so welcoming and helpful, especially with checking in and out! The room interiors were stunning and extremely comfortable! The location was perfect, a nice stroll into the centre of Siena. Breakfast delivered to our room the next morning was a lovely touch and so delicious! We only stayed a night but I would love to come back and visit Siena again and will definitely return to stay here! Thank you!

great location in the heart of the city! near all major sites. parking not too far away but you had to pay for parking

it is top floor lots of stairs and no elevator. for us it was fine and we packed light but could be a problem if you had big bags or if you were older or had trouble with stairs. parking was not included and parking in Siena is expensive but a discount was given.

Nice big room! Breakfast was made by the order and delivered in your room at the desired time. Very nice. Location was great, few blocks from Duomo.

The room is on the second floor and there is no lift. Can be a challenge with luggage. In the room the TV is really small, but then again - who watches TV on holidays :-)
