Very handy location to explore Siena

Very difficult to drive to and although the hotel says it has free parking and will send you a message to say you can park if you arrive early, the carpark is very small and may well be full when you get there. I understand parking is always difficult in Italy but it was disappointing to have this problem after the hotel sent that message

This hotel is located within walking distance from the main attractions of Siena, still not really close to them. Got an upgrade for my room, had a very good dinner, an excellent sleep and a good breakfast. The place is old but kept in a very good shape. I interacted with many of the hotel's staff, they were nice and professional. Would come back here anytime!

Parking might be an issue, I arrived late, tried for about 20 minutes to find a spot, then decided to go around the hotel only to find the reception which was located on the 5th floor, on an upper street. Problem solved next minute, the bell boy took care of parking my car and bringing the key back to the reception. If I only know this upfront...

We spent a week in the hotel. Simply put, it was perfect! The room, the bathroom, the breakfast and all the other facilities in the hotel were definitely better than expected. We were impressed by how they dealt with the "problem" of the car. You simply park your car in front of the hotel and hand in the key. This is actually brilliant and worked perfectly during our week. However, the staff were even better. We hadn't been looked after so well, so friendly and so charmingly for a long time. This hotel is really great! Thank you Athena! ;-)))

Breakfasts were outstanding and included in the price. The room was quite elegant and incredibly low-priced. There is a nice well-stocked bar off the lobby that was very pleasant and open late. Staff was very helpful. I could spend a month there no problem.

The location is next to the city wall and quite distant from the train and bus stations, so I think it is more appealing to drivers in that sense. The walk to Il Campo is a bit of a challenge unless you're in good shape, but the desk will he happy to call a taxi which arrives immediately. I did not try the hotel restaurant which is open in the evening in the breakfast space.

I booked a single room, and on arrival was given an upgrade to a double economy, which was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable and there were all the amenities that you need for an overnight, or longer, stay. I arrived in time for diner in the restaurant, which was delicious. Breakfast the following morning was excellent with many choices availed. The walk to the town center was easy and near by. When I was leaving I was able to leave my luggage at reception and my car in the car park, past the check out time as I had booked a walking tour. The staff were very helpful with this.

Siena is a must see place and this hotel suited us for its location and parking. All went very well, the staff were attentive the building is quite large but we soon got to know it. Breakfast was a bit of a "bun fight" with many Americans doing their thing in their own way. The food at breakfast was more than adequate but the self service coffee was a bit of a nightmare so much so that after asking a member staff they promptly served us coffee with out us having to line up. No complaints about the staff !

We booked a table the first night for dinner on the terrace but it turned in to an uncomfortable nightmare. The metal garden type chairs had no cushions . The service turned out slow and sitting became a bit too much as they were like sitting on a cheese grater. Once again I think the demands from some of the other guests may have been something to do with slowing the service. We ate out for the rest of our stay all part of the experience.

Almost everything was great except for parking policy. The service at the front desk did everything they could to solve any inconvenience. Breakfast (choice and quality) was better in comparison with other hotels we stayed in in this part of Italy. It is probably in the best location in the city (close to the center and great as starting point for the daytrips). I would come definitely again.

Parking, parking and parking. They have probably half of the parking places than number of rooms sold. Parking is a real craziness. First come first served. Whoever comes after 8 pm in the evening has guaranteed telephone call in the evening or knocking on the door with request to repark due to blocked cars. Unless you leave the keys at the front desk. In the evenings it seemed like the only business of the front desk is to test who can get closer to the wall or other car without a scratch. Anyway I have to admit, every Italian seems to be a born Ferrari driver.

Staff were super friendly and put efforts into their work. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The patio was amazing, and the bartender was very accommodating and great at his craft. The breakfast workers were courteous, friendly, and went out of their way to handle the waves of people, including those who carried a sense of intitlement. The breakfast was very nice and had plenty to choose from. The location was great, close enough to the center and far enough for the quiet relaxing.

Just two things: 1) The sign said if the towels were on the floor, they would replace them, standard green focus. However, they replaced all anyways, guessing other customers complained. 2) The shower head had some mold on it. We understand tile over time and might get some in the environment like Italy. Get the staff to soak the heads in vinegar and baking soda while they clean the room and will sort the issue. 2a) The shower head to the screen was a bit awkward.

Virtually everything!! starting with the communications with he hotel before our arrival; they were very responsive and informative and helped us plan other aspects of the journey. While we were there, the hotel was clean, convenient to attractions and the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly - particularly Martina and Francesco. They went above and beyond to help us. The breakfast room would get a bit crowded in the morning but never so much that we couldn't sit. the food was always fresh and very tasty. This is a superb location for anyone visiting Siena.

Good location. Clean, comfortable. Restaurant on terrazzo had a beautiful view out. I didn’t realize the Palio was going on the next day. Busy times. Staff was friendly and helpful

Bathroom had nowhere to put makeup bag. I enjoy coming to Italy to be around Italian people. The reception staff, one porter and the bar tender were Italian. Wait staff all Indian. I don’t mean to sound racist but I felt like I was in India. It’s disappointing. I’m from California. Lots of different races there. I just like to be around Italians because I’m Italian. Maybe they can’t find enough locals to work. Restaurant food was good, not great. Hotel a little expensive.
