The staff and concierge service was truly outstanding. Faultless. From welcoming us to the venue, to suggestions for where to go, to booking taxis for every journey and preparing aperitif drinks every evening after a long day of exploring. They were superstars. We also loved the artwork decorating the house and the welcoming layout of the sitting room where we befriended some lovely guests.

The bathrooms were a bit tired and need updating. And I would have loved a pool or a bath, although the venue is a stones throw from the beach. The rooms were also quite noisy at night, as they are not particularly sound-proofed. As a light sleeper I negated this by playing white noise on my phone and had a great night's sleep (the beds are incredibly comfortable).

The view was extraordinary from every vantage point. The ample breakfast offerings were delicious, fresh, and varied. The beds were extremely comfortable. The art in the rooms was charming. The hosts were kind and informative and the welcome drinks were refreshing. They were very generous in allowing us to have the beverages in the mini-bar each day without added cost.

The location was at one end the city, so limits your access to seeing everything, but the views and setting were worth it. My adult daughters missed out on their welcome beverages because there was not always someone available to make them, so make sure to have one when it's offered!

Breakfast was amazing. Great choice of foods and local specialities. Service on terrace was wonderful. The attendees were always there to ask if another coffee was needed. All staff were very kind, warm, and welcoming and going the extra mile to help guests. can't sing their praises enough. Location cannot be bettered. I was grateful for the valet service for our large 6 person vehicle and everything went off without a hitch. The communication between staff and I prior to our arrival and planning the parking/valet was perfect thank to the professionalism of the staff. Staff served us cocktails on the beautiful terrace one evening and it was amazing. Again, the staff was so warm and friendly main for a great experience. Siracusa and Ortigia are so beautiful - my favorite spot in all of Sicily.

The bathroom could be bigger and perhaps better lighting in bathroom and room. No other complaints. A charming place to stay.

Staff very friendly could not do enough for you. Breakfast excellent. Views from terrace beautiful. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

Although we understand the desire to have traditional furnishings, they were not always very practical. For example, the chest of drawers only had one drawer which opened properly. Also the seats on the terrace barring the bench are exceptionally uncomfortable- cushions might help. That said these things were minor inconveniences rather than bug issues.

Henry’s House is an artsy and amiable 14-room boutique hotel with a lovely antique decor. Located on the farthest reach of the Ortigia island, it’s a few blocks from the noisier streets and situated on beautiful blue Mediterranean waters that were right outside our room’s window! Everything was comfortable, breakfast was a delight, we loved it. Francesco and the entire staff could not have been more friendly, kind and helpful. Such a great hotel!

Our room was comfortable and had a great view over the rooftops. The breakfast was outstanding with delicious sandwiches, fresh fruit (pineapple, melon and wild mulberries!) and juice. Great coffee and pastries. The terrace has an amazing view over the sea – perfect for a chilled out start to the day.

The drains did smell a bit in the bathroom, but it's an old house and we accept that. This hotel probably wouldn't suit someone with mobility issues as there are lots of stairs. There is a lift, but still, some rooms are on different levels and there are two or three stairs between them.

The hotel was in a good location, right by the water....with views of it from the dining area and some rooms. The staff was wonderful, kind and accommedating. It was a short walk to the fort and also the duomo. It's old fashion but yet really charming. The breakfasts were delishish.... we ate the food that the Sicilians normally eat for breakfast -- and it was very good. the food in general in this town was very good. I would absolutely. stay here again.

it took a little time to get warm water in the shower....but that was workable.

Proximity to the lanes & alleyways of Ortigia is perfect. Loved that the staff were unfalteringly helpful, cheerful, warm and generous with their time. Breakfasts were always the freshest of fruits with a good selection of Sicilian fare. Beds were comfortable and towels & linen of good quality.

We stayed a week & there wasn’t much shelf space spare in the bathroom to place personal items.

Henry's House is a beautiful property, lovingly cared for. The welcome and service throughout our stay were outstanding. The breakfast is one of the best in Sicily. The views are exquisite and the location is perfect.

The rooms are dated. The beds and bathrooms need upgrading. Of course this is an historic hotel and one does not wish for chain hotel or luxury hotel style, but for the price, this was the smallest room, the least comfortable sleep and the most cramped bathroom we experienced in similar hotels in Sicily. A little "money spending" could return this hotel to the top status it deserves.

This hotel is a gem. Located right by the promenade in Ortigia and with two terraces and most rooms facing the water, Henry’s House is the perfect base from which to explore Ortigia and Siracusa. Compact in size, beautifully filed with local and run by the friendliest and most efficient staff, this is a place from which you won’t want to leave. The buffet breakfast was a cornucopia of excellent local fruit and fare, the cocktails were divine and every room comes with a fully included minibar. How often do you find all that under one roof?

Parking on the island is restricted, so either park in Siracusa or get a taxi from the station. The stairs are steep, but fear not - there’s a lift.
