Alberto sent us very good instructions on where to park and how to find the building. We let him know roughly what time we would be there and he was there to meet us. He shared his love for the island of Ortigia with us. He told us the places to visit and the ones to avoid. We stayed for 3 nights and he gave us 3 different recommendations for restaurants all of which were superb. The room was spacious and comfortable. The lounge area was large with tables to eat breakfast at as well as a balcony where you could also eat. Alberto only has 4 rooms so you can take the time to talk to your fellow guests if you wish. His housekeeper serves a very nice breakfast. The home made cakes are fantastic.

There was nothing we didn't like. If you are less mobile there is only a stair access to the property which is on the 1st floor.

The residence is clean. As a world traveler, I would say it’s ‘above European standard’ for cleanliness. The house maid is very friendly, and prepares breakfast for you. She was wonderful. So was the breakfast. Order a cappuccino! The man who checked us in when we arrived was also very friendly and knowledgeable - although his suggestions for places to go were very touristic. However, we found our own little gems…. Location is fantastic for walking & exploring the island. Walk down the streets less traveled. Eat at Locanda Maniace, a 3 minute walk, thank me later. It’s a Michelin quality gastro-experience. Everything else is tipica-tourista. If you want something a bit out of the ordinary, take a walk, 3 min away, on the western pier for sunset, find the only house amongst the restaurants, with a garden and a bunch of rusty seats. Only 3 are good for sitting. If the homeowner is outside, strike up a convo, see if you’re invited for sunset…

Closest parking is a 7 minute walk at €2 per hour (€48 /24hrs). Cheapest parking is off the island, 12 minute walk for €15, recommended by the house. Small rooms with only skylights for windows. Balcony and kitchen are shared with other guests - but on the plus, there are only a few rooms. Thin walls. Creaky floors. Loud doors. Key for the bedroom doors are antica style/chonky, without much to the individual pattern or teeth - which offers little security for the room door locks. However, there are multiple keys and multiple locked doors that must be passed to even get in the residency, which helps. The terrace is not private, and is quite small. There is no refrigerator in the room.

The property is well placed in the historic centre, in the heart of everything there. The room was very clean and our host let us use an iron when we needed it. We liked the breakfasts and Anita was very nice to talk with and made our breakfast a pleasure each morning.

Where the property is located inevitability means the parking is a distance away, about 15 minutes walk, if you have large suitcases it can be inconvenient to get to the property from the car park. It seemed confusing as to how parking is paid for including the parking app. After using the EasyPark app we found a fine the next day and no longer felt confident to use the app. Although the fine was cancelled in the end it took some time out of our stay to sort it out and our host wasn’t able to help us understand why we were fined after telling us where to park, preferring to tell me it wasn’t their responsibility and this had never happened before which added to the stress of it all.

Alberto was great at giving recommendations. Every restaurant he recommended was delicious and emphasized the local food of Ortigia. If you had any questions, you could reach out to him on his WhatsApp or talk to him in the common area if he was around. The location is right in the center and you have access to the best locations within walking distance. We parked our car outside the island to avoid a fine if you are caught driving during certain times. It’s only a fifteen minute walk to the stay from the car. The residence itself is amazing. A great balcony to eat the homemade breakfast. The room itself was comfortable and had great air conditioning.

Location is great for walking Ortigia on foot. Devine Canolli on the corner! Host was super kind and helpful, great breakfast Really enjoyed my stay.

You can hear the music and noise from the restaurant next door. I didn't mind it, was a positive background sound and part of the Ortigia vibe. Until all the glass bottles being collected, make loud smashing sounds in the early morning The stairs from my room were steep and creaky. Alberto helped me with my luggage when I arrived, but was not there when I left, so was a bit of a challenge to get my suitcase down the stairs. Overall I did enjoy my stay. Aporeciated the help and support Alberto offered and great advice of places to see in Ortigia.

We really appreciated the warm welcome from Alberto, who took the time to talk us through some excellent local recommendations for places to eat, visit, etc. The room was comfortable and kept spotlessly clean through our stay (thank you to the wonderful Anita!). Great breakfast with a selection of different sweet and savoury options (including lovely homemade cakes!). Fantastic location, in the very heart of charming Ortigia. We'd highly recommend La Residenza del Reginale!

Beautiful house locked away in a courtyard in the centre of Ortigia Island, old Siracusa. Extremely friendly host, briefly and succinctly gave us the run down on the island, where to go, where not to eat (!) and a spectacular recommendation for dinner. HIghly recommended

It's upstairs and lifts haven't been invented yet! But Alberto carries your case up, so no worries. Can't park your car there, you'll need to park and walk a little bit, nothing serious

The location is perfect, right in the centre of old Ortigia. Perfectly clean, cozy lounge/breakfast room, bathroom was extremely comfortable. The best was the host Alberto, who sat and gave us recommendations about places to go, see, eat, have a drink, etc. Everything was spot on.

It didn't bother us, but keep in mind that there are steep stairs both leading to the house and then to the room, which could be a problem for people with limited mobility.

Arrived in the Reginal around lunchtime and were greeted by Alberto, what a charming host 100, had the tour and sat down to be given some incredible recommendations in Ortiga, where to go, where to avoid, where to eat, where to drink. He certainly had our number, everything he mentioned was worth a visit. He was super quick to respond on whatsapp, always with a kindness and warmth that really puts you in great spirits every time we spoke to him. He was so helpful. Exactly what you want when arriving in a place you've never been before. The room was spotless, the team there were lovely. I can't say we sampled the breakfast but had a few espressos on the terrace which fired us up for the day and activities. I feel they really went above and beyond. Highly recommend.

Stylish and very comfortable boutique bed and breakfast in a super central location in Ortigia. Tucked away through a secure courtyard, spacious and bright rooms are the perfect retreat after a day on the Island. Alberto, the host, is super responsive and very accommodating and his wonderful house keeper serves an excellent breakfast on the sunny, peaceful terrace.
