Pool, lovely room with fabulous view, welcoming and helpful staff.

Breakfast was chaotic - not enough tables or staff. Badly organised. Drinks excessively priced - 16 Euros for a spritz, 10 euros for a beer. Even by Venice standards this is ridiculous! Extra charge to use the hotel boat is absurd - difficult to travel without it. This is a new and unnecessary charge on top of already extortionate room rates. Needing to book the pool is another new idea which might suit your health and safety requirements but is unhelpful for guests. This is the main reason we stay here! ( Have been using this hotel for more than 15 years).

The hotel was a magnificent behemoth. The shuttle boat to the centre of Venice took less than 10 minutes. The breakfast (American) at €27 was fantastic. We had ours in the room as we wanted to watch the marine traffic pass by. We managed TWO meals from the breakfast ( we saved our yogurt and fruit plates in the room fridge) . The hotel facilities are very comprehensive and the staff was courteous and professional. Our room was an Executive King with view. The Alilaguna water bus will take you to and from the hotel's front door. Check the times to ensure it is available for a late arrival. Would I return? Emphatically yes!

What didn't I like? Not a lot frankly, the shower was adequate but not too powerful. I couldn't find a pen in the room to complete my breakfast order ( I know...if that's all I have to complain about🙂! )

Room was nice & the view was great. Breakfast was one of the best things about the hotel. The staff in the breakfast area were amazing! They made our stay even more memorable.

When we checked in the staff was not very informative. We had to ask about the ferry they did not offer anything about that.Had dinner on our first night and would not recommend anyone to eat there. Our server was not friendly at all and we felt it was very overpriced for what we ordered.

Room was well furnished and the room facilities were excellent. Bathroom was clean and very good quality. Excellent daily cleaning of the room meant we walked into the feeling of a new room each evening. The view was excellent and the air conditioning kept the room at a good temperature for the heat. Breakfast is a buffet but a 5 star buffet, large range on offer, you would struggle to not find something you like. Lots of food being replaced fresh so you are getting as fresh a buffet can be. Good time frame for breakfast and the helpful room welcome guide gave good suggestions for when to go to avoid busy times. The same selection everyday but it was a wide range and you felt full and ready for the day of exploring. Location is great as the view from the rooftop pool is always stunning looking over the whole of Venice. Location is good for water taxi and airport transfer, it is well connected by public transport with its own shuttle to San Marco and in the evening across the canal as well. The waterbus airport route also stops there, but if you want the hotel can book you a water taxi to anywhere in Venice and the Airport. Good to know that their watertaxi company takes all major cards as some water taxi's do not. Concierge was informative and helpful, great information for where to get waterbuses and to book taxi's. We didn't use them for much more but I could see they were giving a lot of helpful advice to other hotel guests as well. You don't feel that you are asking too much of them and the level of English is excellent. Does make me want to learn Italian though as a mark of respect but they are happy to speak in English and almost default to it at this hotel, given the number of American's that were there. Overall, a wonderful stay and ideally the best hotel as it has the pool for you to use in the hottest parts of the day and the view easily makes it the best hotel pool in Venice.

Nothing to report.

The hotel's location is excellent and the room was very nice with a wonderful view. Breakfast was very good and with a wide choice on offer. Reception staff & concierge - all highly professional & friendly. Although the shuttle service has to be paid for, it is very well run, good value for money & the men who operate it do so professionally.

For a 5 star hotel, it is disappointing that the only water provided in the room has to be paid for from the mini bar - 6 Euros for a small bottle. We were very disappointed that having paid for breakfast on the final morning, there is no provision for having an early breakfast, i.e. slightly earlier than 7am. We understood the reason for not allowing the whole restaurant area to be open, but simply wanted to grab a couple of items before making our way to the airport. Even though I spoke politely & courteously to one male staff member, his response was extremely rude, and rather than allow me to get a few words out by way of explanation, he talked over me & with a high degree of arrogance.

Apart from the pool staff, everybody was nice, freindly and helpful. The room very comfortable and clean.

The swimming pool time, two hours , for a family with children, you are always late as it is hard to get everybody ready, and they actually tell you it is time to leave soon, very dissapointing for children. Not enough time. And some people being allowed to come early or leave late. Every time we asked, we were told no places, we need to stick with the schedule. For other people worked well, unsure about how rules can be bend for some but not for others ...

Gorgeous hotel with lots of history about the building displayed in reception. Beautiful roof top bar for evenings and views of st marks square. The roof top pool has gorgeous views. You can book for 2 hour slot . Bookings are done on the day from 8am at concierge, this way everyone gets to use it. Never felt crowded. You are away from the noise and touristy feel of the main island. Hotel has its own water taxi that runs every 20-30 mins and takes you to main island (takes 15 mins). Starts from 9am and last one is at midnight. You pay 15 euro to use it as often as you like during your stay which is a bargain. Blue like also stops directly outside the hotel and takes you around Venice including the airport (90 mins) or main station (20mins). Hotel reception can order you private taxi which we used for our return to the station . Would 100% recommend doing at least once as it’s a lovely experience. If you get an executive room you can use the executive lounge throughout your stay. Open till 7pm endless supply of drinks and snacks at various times esp at 5pm. Overall best 4 star hotel we have stayed in during our travel through Italy . Would 100% recommend

Room was slightly small for 3 people but we didn’t spend much time in the room so it didn’t bother us

Beautiful view from the rooftop- highlight having a delicious cocktail in the Skyline bar. The spa was nice and even had a dip in the freezing pool (which closes tomorrow for Autumn and Winter!) The breakfasts were yummy.

It would be great if there were more regular shuttle boats to Zattere back and forth to the hotel, as that’s a 5 min boat to the mainland. Every half an hour is more limiting.

The rooftop pool and bar - make sure to book on the day to get a slot! The regular water taxi/shuttle - it ran till late as well. The bed was really comfy and we had a nice view of the water from our hotel room. The bedroom was nice and cool. The staff were friendly. Everything was really clean! They had gluten-free options for breakfast and dinner.

Although we were upgraded (for free) to a superior room with a view, the room wasn't that big. The bathroom didn't seem like a superior room bathroom either - water pressure was low in the shower, and the decor was a bit outdated. The price of food for breakfast and dinner was quite expensive. The directions around the hotel were not very clear - but once you knew your way around, it was fine. I thought it was a bit cheeky to charge for the water taxi per person, as I think it should've been included in the price of the hotel.

I loved the historical building this hotel had a lot. The area was calm and felt very peacefully beautiful every single time we returned to the hotel after crowded Venice. The shuttle service was very convenient but at times it would come every hour and not every 30 minutes which could problematic if one misses it. the front desk was pretty friendly and helpful. the concierge was amazing and helped a lot especially Roberto. Roberto was so kind, caring and professional.

the housekeepers were either very good or pretty forgetful. we had a little inconvenience when we first received the room but the front desk immediately reacted and made sure we were comfortable and happy.
