Shangri-La Golden Sands is always good - clean rooms, comfy beds, a range of facilities, private beach access, good food and helpful staff.

It was very busy, but this was due to it being the school holidays, I think. The rooms we were in also did not have carpeting. It's a small thing, but lack of carpet in such a good hotel is a disappointment for me.

Breakfast spread was good. The cafe is well set up and good service by all the staff. I enjoy it. Room is comfortable and i like the sea facing balcony.

The reception area looks crowded and does not reflect the brand. Could be made more cozy and lively with music and entertainment in the evening. Also, the check in and check out process is a bit slow

Its a great place to go with ur partner and also ur kids. There are.many fun things to do within the hotel vaccinity. My wife & kids Wished we could stay for more days. The kids pool is fun with the regularly planned event every few hours to keep everyone entertained. Our Rooms are spacious enough for us

We were sent to Sigi bar for breakfast because the main breakfast area is too pack. However the food at sigi bar definately taste different from the main restaurant and also a few of the food is not as "fresh" as the main restaurant. I assume that its prepared at the main breakfast area and then carried over to Sigi bar. The beach needs a regular clean up.crew too.

Very comfortable, comfortable garden, only one issue is the beach, there are a lot of jet skies, boats,,,,, which disturbe swimming in the sea, these people are careless and come very close to you in the beach, it's one two or three but there are many like flies so be careful when swimming in the sea in front of the hotel, eventually we should swim in the pool

Beach activities are too much and too many, they are wondering around in the sea like flies and very near to the beach which disturbe the joy of the swimming in the sea, Also be careful when swimming in the sea as these boats and jet skies are coming to close , if you are not careful you be certainly hurt by the people

a mini waterpark & pool!!! very kids friendly.we came because of the pool , suitable for family with kids.

the room is small compare to the rest of another hotel with the same price.but because of the mini water park, we just need to "redho" 😆 and there's no carpet in the floor, so cold and please do something to cover the room floor.

The Golden Sands is a large, if older style hotel - it would have been the peak of luxury in the 1980s. It is clean, well appointed, has great staff and good facilities and the view from the room balcony over the gardens and beach was lovely.

It is starting to shows signs of age and could probably do with a revamp. The lobby/breakfast area lime green paint scheme is straight out of 1975, as is the soft jazz musak. More muted colors and chill music would work better. The lagoon pools are fine for splashing about, but impossible for uninterupted laps. Sadly, the overdevelopment of the area means the beach is awful - very murky water and, signs say, jelly-fish. This is not helped by the jet-skis roaring about close to shore.

No hand and face towels provided on our first night Tissue box not replaced when it’s clear there are no more tissues Cleaning staff should have a proper checklist to ensure these minor items are not overlooked Reluctance of customer service staff to offer extension and the excuse is back to back booking which I find a Sunday check in cannot be completely full When I requested for 1 hour extension the Indian staff only allowed half an hour which I find ridiculous to be honest I had fond memories in my previous stay here when my son was young many years ago but these litttke shortcomings leave a lot to be desired

We loved it. The staff were absolutely amazing. Every day we were greeted with salams, even if we saw the staff member 5x during the day, we were always greeted with salams and a smile. Our room was cleaned daily. My request for the last floor was met. The view was extraordinary. The staff truly work from their heart and truly love what they do. We had such a different variety during our breakfast buffet. They went on and beyond to make us happy, and they exceeded my expectations. It was my first trip to Malaysia, and we had an amazing time. I am definitely recommending it to my family and friends. Would like to tell the staff, from the lobby, to the kitchen, to the front desk, the reception, the pool workers, the cleaners, to the ALL the staff, you all are absolutely amazing and truly do the very best to keep the guests happy. I can not give one negative feedback. I can go on with all the positive feedbac. However, I would never know when to end. Your boss should be proud of you all 😀😀😀😀
