APA Hotel & Resort Hakata Ekihigashi

I made reservation on the spot and my app was acting up. The staff on duty were kind enough to assist. The open air onsen was amazing. The Big screen TV was good to relax and chromecast whatever I wanted to binge on.

Breakfast was just okay. No English breakfast. Less protein. Some sections of the kitchen were not really clean especially the water/milk/tea/ juice stations.

Very good location - just 3 mins walk from Hakata station and the airport line. The staff were very helpful, despite not being able to speak English that well. I was able to leave my luggage and come back later to check in at 3pm. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Loved it so much. Also, the free public bath on the 13th floor was AMAZING!!! Highly recommended!!

The breakfast was the same everyday with very little choice of menu. The sitting area was not at all clean. There was some noise from other rooms on a few nights but it wasn’t too loud to disturb my sleep.

Hotel is located very close to the Hakata station, where all the metro and Shinkansen trains stop. The airport is just 15 minutes away by metro. Self check-in and check-out are very convenient and fast. Spa has a great baths both inside and outside. They are very relaxing. Spa also has self service laundry that is great for backpackers and those traveling light. Breakfeast in the hotel restaurant is hot pot style buffet. Great selection. Room was very clean and has everything a traveller might need.

I didn't like that the Luggage storage is under the bed.

I loved how well the amenities were prepared for an overnight stay, where you didn't need to retrieve clothes from your luggage and some items. The room was well-thought-out, providing English translations for those who do not understand Japanese. There were free coffee sachet sets and drinking water provided. Additionally, they included instructions stating that the water from the bathroom was drinkable. The heating and room temperature were sufficient for the cold weather. I didn't even use the AC or heating as it was neither cold nor hot enough to require them. I've read previous reviews suggesting that the staff should be trained to speak in English. However, I understand this point; I would like to express that since we are traveling in their country, Japan, as tourists, we should also adjust our English pace and perhaps use Google Translate when communicating with Japanese staff. They are very polite and helpful. Although I do know a little Japanese, I always try to adapt to the country I am visiting since they do not need to adjust for us. We should be the ones to adapt to the place we are visiting. Just my advice, as previous reviews keep mentioning that the staff should be trained. Again, I understand this point, but these are just my thoughts on it. I would recommend Apa Hotel in any location as they provide quality service in a convenient location.

Location was near to the Hakata station. The Quasi onsen was good. Hotel has washing machine and dryer in the onsen facililty . Although the room is small, there are clothes hooks and hangers which help very much cos there is no extra space for anything else

if only the room is slighter bigger to have space for the luggage to be opened up.. A big inconvenience if you stay for many nights. Also the daily change of the yukata and top up the full set of daily amenities are not really necessary.

Staff speaks English. Very friendly too! The room has everything you need like a toothbrush, shampoo, shower cap, razer, hair dryer,..... The hotel is not too large which makes it comfortable to move around (regarding elevator waiting times). Hotel is at walking distance from the train station.

You need to pay an extra fee to use the swimming pool. You need to cover up your tattoos for the pool as well for the onsen. This restriction counts over entire Japan and not only this hotel. The room is very very small.

The Hot Spa is very nice and hours of service great.

My room was a little hot, and my friend said the same. The hotel has shut off Air Conditiong and only the Heater works. Asked if this can be fixed and they said no. Even with the heater off the room was still hot. I opened the door to let cool air in but this wasn't an option at night. Also, my friend rode his motorcycle to the hotel and the parking lot does not allow motorcycles, only cars. Found this to be a bit strange.

Location: It's in the quiet area but very close to the main train station (Hakata) which connects to local trains and outbound trains to the country (about 5-minute walk). Staff: All are friendly and helpful. Room: Very comfortable bed and shower. All the facilities are good quality. Check-in and check-out process: fast, easy and private

Check-in time: quite late to us (3PM) However the hotel offers free luggage drop service. Water: I wish the hotel gave free bottles of water daily. We only got two bottles on the first day. Room size: small, but it's okay given the location and all the facilities provided at this price.

I love the fancy lobby !!!! when I first arrived I thought I mistaken my hotel because it was lavish looking and looked like a casino from outside. Love the multiple elevators and the breakfast is amazing !! I wasn’t expecting shabu (hot pot) for breakfast. delicious!! staff were helpful, they spoke English . also due to COVID all checks in were self check in and check our . it was convenient and good . it’s a 10 minute walk from Hakata station! location is great ! also , the hotel is super quiet at night and no smell if cigarettes.

I didn’t really like that the bathroom was very tight , for someone tall it was a bit small , the rooms are small and compact.

Overall clean and good value. Spa was nice.

Rooms are crazy cramped. And it isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the staff struggled to speak English. I had a stiff neck with a headache, and I wanted a massage - however, I misunderstood all that entailed because of some rough communication, and I ended up receiving and paying too much for a massage I would not have wanted had I known some key factors.
