This place is a must stay if you are spending the night in the magical Miyajima Island. It's a traditional japanese inn with everything you need and more, it's a short walk from the ferry station and far from the crowds, but the hotel also provides a shuttle bus for guests that is super covenient. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a very peaceful view of the sea and the cute deers, and with futon beds that were really comfortable. The food was really good, both dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend to get these meals, not only for the whole experience but also for the convenience since the places in the city closes very early. The hotel also have an onsen, for women and men, ping pong table, hammock and a souvenir shop. Also I cannot forget to mention about the amazing and kind staff, from the reception to the drivers that took us to the city thank you so much for everything. We wished we have stayed one more day to enjoy more this place.
Nothing, everything was just perfect.

Amazing Rokyan, we loved our experience so much. We travelled as a family and were treated so well. Service is fantastic what seems to be a family run hotel. Dinner was fantastic, served in our room and breakfast in the dining room. Kids meals available if you book ahead of time. Getting into town was no issue as you just go the information booth and get them to call the hotel to pick you up. My daughter had a swim in the beach out the front, which was lovely. Deer everywhere. Beds on the floor were comfortable. Loved it. Book it :)
Yes it's alittle dated but its part of its charm.

This was one of our favorite stays in Japan over our 6-week trip in Spring 2024! First off, Miyajima Island is incredible! We both love it and will definitely be back. If you're thinking about staying on Miyajima Island, just DO IT! We booked a seaside room and it was very nice. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast is a staple part when staying at a ryokan. Make sure you partake, since its already included in the cost of your stay! Staff was so accommodating, and even sent the shuttle to come pick up our luggage from the ferry terminal info center so we could explore the island hands-free! Our luggage was kindly placed in our room when we arrived after check-in. The info center was able to call the shuttle for us and the driver dropped us off at a covered path to the ferry terminal during the downpouring rain when we left the island. 100% recommend Miyajima Seaside Hotel for at least 1 night, but you'll want to stay for longer!

The hotel is in the traditional Japanese style and we loved experiencing this. It’s also in a lovely location, with a deer park close by and the sea right in front - with beautiful views from your balcony. The service is fantastic - all of the staff are so kind and really take care of you in the traditional way - including providing slippers and yukatas. The onsen is great. It’s a simple and small public bath but does exactly what you need it to after a long day of sightseeing. We hugely enjoyed the dinner in our room as well as breakfast, watching the deer walk past.
We are pescatarian and were well accommodated. We would perhaps just warn others that if you have more western tastes, this is a full immersion experience, and the food reflects this in the set menu. There was a small port nearby which seemed to be dumping fish at points during the evening - meaning there was a strong smell of fish from our balcony, but only a small issue.

Quiet and comfortable stay on the waterfront with a nice view, spacious room and great service. The highlight was the service, with highly responsive and helpful staff (not many hotels respond quickly to messages through booking.com) and ‘hands free sightseeing’ where they pick up and drop off your bags between the hotel and ferry port within 10 minutes of requesting. Of the several hotels I tried in Japan that required taking a shuttle bus, this was the only one that offered this service and it made a huge difference.
Though it’s not as close to the ferry port and attractions, the fast and easily requested shuttle bus and hands free sightseeing made it easy to get there and back.

This was our special treat on our family holiday, and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff are attentive and sweet, the view and location are stunning and the meals are just wonderful. Deer roam freely on the grounds, fish flip themselves out of the sea at whim and we spotted a few extra-special locals including crabs, some cats and a stingray. We loved having use of a ping pong table, the free shuttle to town/the port and..just about everything, really! We're so glad we opted to do a ryokan stay, and really loved Miyajima Seaside Hotel!
Some may find the futons a bit hard/uncomfortable. Good pillows though, which isn't a given based on our other accommodation experiences!

Nearly everything! I was a little hesitant about the location of MSH but it turned out to be a real treat. The Suginoura Beach is interesting and quaint. Maybe in summer time it will be a beach type area but it was very nice to walk on and see the harbor. The oyster farmers were interesting with their boats going in and out. The greatest plus was the excellent shuttle service between the hotel and the ferry terminal. It is not only scheduled for the morning times but also available upon request. That’s make the location most ideal. Quiet and away from the touristy parts of Miyajima/Hatsukaichi. But very close by means of the shuttle. The Kaiseki meals were terrific. We enjoyed a different menu for each of our 4 days. Too much food. But also very well done. Service was exceptional. Everyone is so kind and service oriented. We especially enjoyed Nojima Tomokazu who was so very helpful with everything. The wait staff in the banquet hall were also so very friendly and gracious in their service. The facilities were well kept and clean, perhaps typical Japanese style with everything in order and conveniently and thoughtfully placed. The public baths were great. Very clean as well, reassuring to make such an activity appealing. Nearly private each time I used them. I highly recommend Miyajima Seaside Hotel and hope one day to return or at least send many friends there to enjoy their hospitality.
Limited times for the free coffee in the lobby. I would prefer starting at 630am until 10am. But was was available was fine.

The staff was incredible. We felt like royalty even when we had translation issues and almost walked out with out paying for our extra services on accident. They anticipate your every need. For example, my husband is a bit bigger with very large feet. They provided a larger yukata and slippers for him automatically, avoiding us having to awkwardly ask for them. The room with sea view was gorgeous and we were able to see the sun come up on the local fishermen in their boats as well as deer roaming about. The dinner and breakfast were absolutely incredible and an unforgettable experience. Way more food than it seems it will be. The kind lady that brought it to us explained everything very well and even provided an English menu so that we could learn about what we were eating. We were worried about having to call for the shuttle when arriving on the island but it was an easy, seamless experience using the shuttle.
The rooms are admittedly a but older, but comfortable. The most awkward thing was that the floor creaked badly everyone we took a step. We were worried we might bother someone below us.

We loved our stay at Miyajima Seaside Hotel - it exceeded our expections! - we spent the day walking and exploring the island and chose an overnight stay at the hotel as it offered a traditional Japanese ryokan experience. The room was clean and immaculate, furnished with tatami mats, traditional dining table and chairs, plus two armchairs to enjoy the view and relax - the room was light and airy and had a fantastic view of the beach and the bay. The traditional Japanese evening meal was served in our room - thank you for the excellent explanation of the meal, including the professional, friendly and helpful assistance during both dinner and breakfast service. We loved the food that was served in the hotel - it was beautifully presented, was delicious and was a real treat for us! A big thankyou to all the staff at Miyajima Seaside Hotel for helping to make our stay so enjoyable - a hotel is only as good as the people that work in it!

On arrival at the port you can give them a call to pick you up to take you to the hotel. During the evening you can opt to have dinner in your room which is a lovely experience and the staff are wonderful. Staff are attentive and every time you come into the hotel they will give your shoes a quick clean and freshen up before putting them away in the cupboards. Yukata is provided for your comfort and wear around the hotel. The onsen is also a great place to relax. At night there is a shuttle to see the gate lit up which is a nice addition to do some sightseeing when the tourists have left for the day
I think the breakfast options could have been split into a Japanese traditional and a western with a Japanese twist. Just so that food isn’t wasted as sometimes you don’t feel like fish for breakfast or even such a large meal.
