Great city center location on the edge of the Samurai district but also on a main road and close to restaurants and shops, in fact linked to several shops and supermarkets.  Good rooms, if slightly dated, but extremely large beds and the best towels we had in Japan.  Sadly not the best pillows, but you can't have everything. We didn't eat in the hotel.  There's a 'german' bakery just down the road on the opposite side, which we used for breakfast and train food and there are many restaurants around, including an Indian restaurant if you're looking for relief....

The light switches in the hotel are in the middle of the headboard on the bed, which is a little strange.

The location is excellent, can walk to Kenroku-en or get drunk at some good bars located on the street behind and get back easily. The staff is what I like the most, very polite and helpful. When I entered the premises before the check in time to drop my bags, I did not even have to approach the front counter. Found that very effective. One more thing I like is how the room is spacious. I have been paying for cheaper hotels for so long and did not understand why people pay more for simply a bigger room. I booked this hotel because I got a discount and ended up liking it more than I expected, the bathroom is sound-proof to the point that when another person is taking a shower, I can continue sleeping. the mattress quality is also good. (Most of mattresses provided by Japanese Hotels are too hard for me)

- It is not that clean, the hair dyer is quite moldy. - The place is old. - The hairdryer itself is so weak that took more than half an hour to dry.

Super close to the train station so very convenient for our one night stay and wasn’t too long a walk to the castle gardens and places to eat. The staff were very lovely and the hotel is lovely.

Bathroom was a bit basic and the window didn’t open for any air.

The best feature is its excellent location, a stroll to the main gardens and museums, the samurai district, and a street full of restaurants and bars right behind the hotel. Our double room was spacious, though it would have been even more so had it not been for the ridiculously huge king-sized bed which took up half the floor space. Service was good - the rooms are cleaned only once every 4 nights unless more is requested, which is a good arrangement.

Like most hotels world-wide these days, the bedding consists of a comforter/doona with no sheet and no option of a thinner blanket. So you have the option of roasting under the doona, or being too cold without it. We took the doona out of its cover and slept in the nightgowns provided under the doona cover only, and that was OK. The public rooms are a bit gloomy. Breakfast is a very generous buffet if you dont mind paying the fairly high price, with Western and Japanese options. Free umbrellas supplied - we were grateful for that on our one rainy day.

This is another Tokyu Hotel with excellent customer service. We chose Kanazawa as our step stone to Shirakawa. I had difficulties to book a bus ticket online, back from Shirakawa to Kanazawa, when I wrote a letter to the hotel through booking.com message board, asking for help. The hotel staff responded quickly and made the reservation for us. We just needed to make the payment to the bus company upon arrival at Kanazawa using the reservation number. The hotel’s city center location makes your walk to the famous attractions, such as Kanazawa castle, Kenrokuen, and Nagamachi quite easy. But if your goal is mainly to visit Shirakawa, then staying in a hotel in the train station is more convenient. The department store across the street of the hotel has a food court on the top floors with some high-quality restaurants opening til late hours.

We were pleasantly surprised by the nice decor and the room we booked was bigger by Japanese standard. By far the best room we had during this trip. The staff was nice and courteous, especially the doorman who greeted us everyday and came forward with a trolley to help us with our luggage on our arrival. It was just off the main shopping street of Korinbo. The bus stop for the tourist loop and local buses was very nearby. Besides, the bus stop for the airport shuttle was just 5mins walk away, in front of Toyoko Inn. It's very convenient

Everything was perfect.

Staff and cleanliness was excellent. Especially the politeness of the staff was exceptional. Beautiful, new and modern rooms. Breakfast was fantastic too, either buffet or JP set available. Location is very convenient and the hotel can be reached by a single bus from Kanazawa station.

The biggest problem I had was the dry air in the room despite using the humidifier. I then filled the bath tub with water and kept the bathroom door open which helped. My fingertips felt like parchment and I woke up several times coughing and had to drink water. My friend from Europe had the same problem.

We chose this as a mid priced option in a good area. In fact it was quite a swanky place which seemed to cater to a lot of business travellers along with tourists. The location is excellent - a ten minute walk from the castle and gardens and surrounded by restaurants and bars. Decent sized room, comfortable bed etc. I’d recommend paying out for the breakfast which is a really good buffet with both Japanese and western options.

Nothing - it was all good

I was expecting a typical Japanese business hotel when I booked, but the rooms were much bigger than expected and they were gorgeous. Unfortunately I couldn't try the breakfast as there was quite a queue, which should mean it is good. :-)

The hotel is a bit away from the main railway station, but is within walking distance of Kanazawa castle, Kenroku garden and the museum of contemporary art.

August 2023

The location was perfect - close to Samurai district, Kanazawa Castle, shopping mall and downtown district. Really easy to call in to refresh and hide from the August heat while exploring without wasting time commuting back and forth.

No ventilation in the bathroom so made it hard to dry clothing at all. In house laundry was very very expensive and not really an option. Restaurant at the hotel was also very expensive.
