Very good location: the ryokan is about a 20 minute walk from Kanazawa station and a few minutes walking from Omicho Market and the castle grounds. The room was a good size (at least for one person's use) and the shared toilet and sento were kept very clean. The staff is friendly and attentive: one day I came back with wet shoes and they dried them for me. I had to leave early one morning, and they gave me breakfast 30 minutes earlier than the usual breakfast time.

The only reason why I am not putting a 10 in my rating is because the wifi was not working in my room and I had to go somewhere else to use the internet.

Authentic Ryokan with a traditional room with Futons etc. We deliberately chose a room without bathroom facilities so that we HAD TO enjoy the full Japanese Ryokan experience with ONSEN! Rooms are basic but comfortable. Futons excellent and the food......superb! We had the Japanese Breakfast and Dinner and enjoyed every mouthful. The young staff were great to deal with and attentive as was the owner. Very quiet neighbourhood with easy walking access to all the town has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed the cultural experience.

Nothing! It's a Japanese Ryokan and not a modern Western hotel so make sure you understand what that entails before you book otherwise you might get a shock!!

We have stayed at this ryokan before and loved it so much that we just had to come back! Everything is amazing. Friendly staff, nice room and good location. The onsen and shared bathing and toilet facilities were always clean and comfortable to use. During our stay it was never crowded. The absolute highlight of this place is the food. You get a very delicious and big dinner served in your room. The breakfast was also very delicious. We can’t wait to visit again!

A simple and well maintained ryokan. Room was simple. Staff was helpful despite being limited in English. Meals (Breakfast and dinner) were enjoyable. On the first night, we were served by a girl who appears to be a university student and probably was on the job recently. Not familiar with the layout of the food to be served and also the setting of the futon bed. Appreciate her willingness and courage to explain in English. Hotel was not full when we were there. Had use of the common bath entirely to ourselves. Location is in the centre of the three tourist places - the old town, the Kanazawa palace/ Kurokuen Garden and the market.

Nothing in particular.

This ryokan is great! The location is in the centre, near most sightseeing spots in Kanazawa and a 15/20 minute easy walk from the train station. The staff doesn’t speak much English but it was easy to communicate nonetheless. The beds are typical Japanese, so expect to sleep on the floor =) I found it comfortable but not everyone in my group agreed. We booked our stay with dinner and breakfast, the portions are quite generous and the food is of good quality!

I really recommend staying in this ryokan. Staff is doing everything to make you feel like home. Walking distance to main attractions in the city. You can take a bus or walk to the station for about 20 minutes. Bathing in onsen and sleeping on futon was a unique experience. Breakfast was very delicious, everything was fresh.

Very authentic Ryokan, very comfortable -we got the best sleep in this Ryokan of our 2 weeks in Japan- and very fresh food for dinner. Very welcoming, service-minded and warm staff, explaining all the dishes during the dinner and the breakfast. Good breakfast.

This is an real Ryokan, so you just need to know what to expect, real Japanese dinner . Common toilets, just because you need to walk a little and the shower was at the onzen.

Staff was so nice and the place was pretty clean! There was a shared bathroom where you could enjoy onsen with other people.. I didn't feel comfortable tho. Visited another ryokan where the onsen was private and you could stay up to 50min there.

I thought the room would be bigger and the bathroom was kinda old? (toilet wasn't even like the Japanese ones with heat and water).

Meals were fabulous. The selection of food was fresh and varied. Dinner served in the room was special and servers were attentive to every need. Hospitality was superb. Free parking and very convenient location to walk to Kenrokuen and Omicho fish market. The ryokan is solidly built and very comfortable. Omotenashi. Arigato gozaiumasu.

Very friendly and helpful family. Super easy walk to Kenrokuen Gardens. Traditional Japanese breakfast was really good; recommend over their Western. Dinners outstanding!

Life on (and getting off) the floor was challenging for this particular 75 year old. If you are tall, watch the low overheads!
