The location was excellent, literally out of Kyoto station, cross a street and you get to the hotel in less than 5 minutes. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Even if you opt not to have your room cleaned one day, the staff still leave clean towels and amenities out for you to use. The ice machine in the lobby was also a bonus for the hot summer days.

If you are going to be doing tourist things and want to visit different locations, this hotel is very convenient. The rooms are as other reviews say small, but if like us, you are only spending a few hours in the hotel every day for shower and sleep, then the room is ok. However, keep in mind if you have more than 1 suitcase, it will be challenging to manage.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was super clean. There was good water pressure in the bathroom, and all the toiletries you can possibly imagine. The hotel provides two ergonomic pillows for each person, and the mattress was quite comfortable. There is a fridge and a kettle in the room. There is a coin laundry available on site. The room seemed well soundproofed as it was quiet and we did not hear other guests, despite the hotel being full. It is quite close to the main train station (5 minute walk) and several bike rental shops as well as a big shopping center with a great food court below.

No negatives, really. Unless you are a member of this hotel chain, check out time is 10:00am. However, they will keep your luggage before and after check out with no additional charge.

Wonderful reception staff. Close to the station. Several convenience stores nearby. Mall just 15 minutes away. Rooms in APA are consistent comfortable and clean. Biggest bonus while travelling is the laundry facilities which helps to reduce the weight of your suitcase (bringing less clothing). Not all hotels have a laundry room and is the reason I have stayed there 3 times and will stay in the future.

We chose not to have the room cleaned which is good for the environment and not necessary on short stays. A bag of fresh towels is left every day although contained no extra toilet paper which would be good when staying a few days.

really not much to complain about only nit picking would be: only 1 elevator which means during peak times can be slow. Bathroom in our room had a small step to get into the room - which was at best a tiny inconvenience but something to note. Overall we had a great stay.

The locations is so near near to Kyoto Station, Kyoto Tower and shops that it is very convenient. The staff was nice and helpfull. The bathrrom was very good and comfty.

The room was too small to have any place for luggage. Not a big deal but still. The bed could be a bit smaller and it would solve this smal inconvinient.

The location of the hotel is walking distance to Kyoto Station about 4 to 5 minutes. It is in a quiet location and i stayed in a non-smoking room with the same floor for non-smokers. The room is kept neat and they will change the towels, etc everyday.

The breakfast could have different varieties but it is usually managed by one staff so the bento set is quite standard. It will be better if there is a international type of breakfast (buffet style) available but the space constraint does not allow it.

In my opinion, the room, and location are perfect for what we need. Clean and friendly staff (very helpful) are always a bonus. We arrived a little bit early as It was raining, very bad weather on the day. The friendly staff let us leave our luggage, so we can walk around the city, and they kept our luggage till check-in time.

I didn't know that there was a robe in a drawer, and if I only knew, I could have worn it on the night we stayed. Overall, I still like staying in APA because the room is clean and the very friendly, helpful staff.

You have all the things you need. they also speak in english. its a good spot also to see the kyoto tower. check out was surprisingly impressive.

I was trying to borrow an international plug for their port since they dont have any international plug in the room. they didnt have any. maybe this could be a point of improvement but they did their best everytime you ask them about certain questions or concerns.

Loved the room and the location, near Kyoto Station for buses, trains, and Shinkansen bullet trains. No taxi needed to reach hotel as it's about 800 meters from the Porta. Plenty of good eating options available within walking distance, and in walking distance from the immense Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, and traditional Japanese breakfast was at the restaurant next door each morning.

There was nothing to dislike at this hotel.

I love the cleanliness of the room. Superb! The staff even folded our pajamas. The location is very accessible and its walking distance from Kyoto Station. Highly recommended to family and friends who wants to stay near Kyoto station. Thank you APA Hotel Kyoto Ekikita. See you next time :)

It could have been better if the room is spacious. There was no enough space for our luggage. The APA Hotel in Tokyo that we stayed at was better because you could put your luggage underneath the bed.
