Richmond Hotel Premier Kyoto Ekimae

The room was incredible! It was clean and beautiful. We had a bathroom and a shower there. In the room you can find a kettle, a hairdryer and an iron. The location is perfect. It is not far away from Kyoto station and from Kyoto Tower. And the hotel itself is beautiful. The garden is decorated in Japanese style. We checked in at 23:00 and hotel staff was very kind. We also left our baggage there till evening, after our check out.

The staff was lovely and extremely accommodating. The facilities and the overall vibe of the hotel is very clean, posh, yet comfortable and welcoming. Our room was spotless and always a welcome sight after a long day of touring and sightseeing. The cherry on top is the location of the hotel: it's literally within 5-10 minutes of Kyoto Station, where the subway and buses are located. This made it extremely easy to go on tours and move around Kyoto! I would recommend this hotel to everyone! We made a lot of good memories from our trip and Richmond Hotel had a huge part in that. :)

Everything was on point. A lot of value for the price. Didn't expect some of the service I received, including the free aperitivo in the evening.

Excellent buffet breakfast. Facilities nice and clean. Free dessert in the afternoon and sake in the evening.

Rooms a touch small but typical for Japan.

The courtyard at the entrance is very beautiful, check-in is very convenient, and amenities are available in the lobby on the first floor. The room is spacious with a large bed, and there is a small tatami. There are three cleaning modes to choose: regular mode, eco mode and no cleaning, which can be selected through the TV in the room every day. You can enjoy free afternoon tea and free alcohol in the evening. It takes only 5-8 mins to get to JR Kyoto station. so the transportation is convenient. All in all, it was an excellent experience and I would still choose this hotel if I come to Kyoto again next year.

The hotel is great - a quiet oasis in the center of Kyoto. A short walk to Kyoto station (trains, buses) and near many restaurants and small convenience stores, as well as big shopping malls. The hotel has exquisite breakfast, free afternoon snacks and a happy hour that is also included in the price. They even have activities for kids, such as bracelet making etc. It is a great place for families. They have a laundry room and vending machine, and an amenity bar, which is really excellent. Staff is very nice and helpful. We loved our stay and will certainly come back !

Nothing - everything was great !

Everything was done very professionally, all the staff on the floor offered greetings etc. Brekky was I think great if you are into Kyoto Japanese style. I don’t eat fish so struggle with breakfast at most places, here was okay. Room was larger than expected and new, larger bathroom than normal. Free sweets at 4pm and free drinks and nibbles at 6pm. Great location great service and value for money.

Western breakfasts in Japan can always be better, but I understand how good their Kyoto style Brekky was, and people were loading up..!

Fabulous location near the Kyoto Main Station, as we arrived by the Nozomi Shinkansen from Tokyo. Just a 5-7 minute walk. Lots of food and shopping options nearby as well, BIC Camera, Yodobashi, malls, department stores. Very accommodating staff, and eager to help figure out sightseeing logistics (car and driver to Nara Deer Park while also stopping by Twinkle Joyo for the Winter Illumination). Late checkout permitted for an extra hourly charge which was convenient to allow our infant son to nap before our journey home.

Lack of double glazing on the windows meant outside traffic noise could be heard from our room on the 5th floor. However, the area is quiet enough to not be a glaring issue. Loud whistling sound from the laundry/boiler room on the 5th floor that was not dealt with during the stay. All in all, just frivolous negatives.

the property was close to Kyoto station and such a beautiful facility. they have kiosk machines that allow you to quickly check in and check out, get change and buy meal tickets. they provide an amazing amenity bar with all the things you could need. the rooms are beautiful and spacious. we were also able to purchase the pajama set there for just ¥2000. the tv in the room allows you to select what level of cleaning service you’d like and you can also check the status of your laundry if you’re using one of the machines. they even provide free afternoon tea even though we weren’t able to take advantage of it.

it was perfect.

I expected a typical compact sized Japanese hotel but was totally proven wrong. Amazing location (max 6min walk from the JR station); very clean; comfortable bed, room and bathroom; great breakfast (better than more expensive hotels I've stayed at); friendly staff; amenities bar where you can take responsibly exactly how much you need to avoid waste. Completely blown away with my stay at the hotel in the most pleasant ways.

As the location is basically JR station, you do need to take some kind of transport to reach a different part of the city but since the central bus station with most buses is also there, not a huge issue.
