It was spotless and super clean - this is always the most important criteria for me. The beds and especially the tatami style kids bed were very comfortable. (We like firm beds) The location is unbeatable if you plan to have many day trips while in Kyoto and plan to take public transportation- Kyoto station (JR including Haruka express, subway, buses, taxi) is just across the street. just as an example we went to Arashiyama(30 mins), Nara (under an hour), Fushimi Inari Tori gates (15 mins), nijo castle (15 mins) and could have easily made day trips further to Osaka, Kobe, Nagoya, and even Hiroshima if we wanted to take advantage of the shinkansen 🚄 it is a key factor that the hotel is located north of the station walking through the nice porta with food and shopping options without having to get wet on rainy days from station to hotel, with Isetan above the porta to its south and more shopping malls and the beautiful Higashi Hongan-ji in the north (we had a view of the temple straight from our window!), and kyoto tower to its east. While there’s no lack of food options around, It’s always nice to have multiple options right at the hotel when you’re too tired to walk after a long day or just want to eat before heading out for your daily quests. Both the buffet and kyoto kaiseki style breakfast were very pleasant!

These are very minor nit pickings, but things they can improve on: 1. Only 1 key (physical key) to hotel room- given we are 3 ppl each getting a key card would make the experience even more seamless 2. Not a lot of space /luggage rack to layout your suitcase- again because we are 3 in a room with 3 carryons 3. Elevators can be a long wait at rush hour 4. The staff may not be the most fluent in English (perhaps we were at a more business hotel) but they did their best to help us address our questions. However none of these would prevent us from choosing to stay at this hotel again.

Excellent location right in front of Kyoto Station and Kyoto tower is just few minutes walk. We are a family of 4, so we decided to take taxi in front of the hotel to kiyomizu-dera (20mins, around SGD 16+) and arashiyama bamboo forest (30mins+, around SGD30+). Rooms (we booked a connecting room) were clean and neat with toiletries provided. There is a Porta dining underground (entrance is in front of the hotel) where you can find different cuisine to appease your hunger!

Loved our stay at this lovely hotel, which was perfectly situated opposite the subway and bus station. Conveniently surrounded by many restaurants and cafés, as well as convenient stores. The area is very lively day and night, with plenty of malls and bars, even karaoke bars nearby. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, offers plenty of meal options at their in house restaurants and bars. The staff are very nice and professional, they were gracious enough to allow us to store all our bags as we arrived early for check-in. The room was the perfect space for a couple. House keeping service is impeccable. Very comfortable bed and pillows. The front desk also offer a very convenient and affordable luggage delivery service and assisted us with sending our bags ahead to our next accommodation in Tokyo. Would definitely stay here again when we return to Kyoto.

Not much to dislike. Loved everything. Wish we stayed longer.

The location is great, as the hotel is just by Kyoto Station, providing a centralized location. The room was nice, and the staff was very helpful. Overall I liked the stay a lot.

The flip side to being right by Kyoto Station is we heard sirens from police and/or rescue vehicles a lot since the area is very heavily trafficked, but overall I'd say the convenience outweighs this problem. Our room also only had heating and no cooling, so despite coming in December, we found it too hot. The staff ended up helping by opening the emergency window so that we could cool off. This had the unfortunate side effect of making the sirens and other traffic noises even louder.

I loved the location across the street from the train and bus stations, and near the restaurants too. Absolutely PRIME location for convenience! And it was a safe area too. I liked the room (The built in furniture is a little bit old, but that didn't bother me at all! The carpeting and curtains are new.) and it was nice that they offered pajamas too. I appreciated the lighting options. The AC worked, which was important to me! The people at the reception were very friendly and helpful.

I didn't like the shampoo/soap offerings in the shower. I wish they offered a different brand.

Directly across from Kyoto station, so the location was superb for ease of finding. Only a short walk from the station and all it has to offer. This also meant it was easy hauling luggage back and forth. The rooms were very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Would happily stay here again....And probably will.

Really hard to find anything negative about this hotel. Only things that stood out were; you couldn't open the window for fresh air. Secondly, works were in progress, which removed ramp access to the lobby. A temporary ramp would have been appreciated for travellers with their bags. Other than those (which are really nit-picky) it was outstanding.

Excellent location, right across the street from the train/bus station (take the central exit), and next to kyoto tower. The rooms/building are slightly older (use old fashion key to get into hotel room), but still great nonetheless. Check in is at 3pm (cannot check in early like most places in Japan), but they will gladly hold your luggage if you arrive early. About 20 min bus/subway ride away from the main tourist attractions in Kyoto. We did not purchase breakfast, but the restaurant on the first floor always seemed busy with lots of people for both breakfast and dinner.

Hotel is conveniently located opposite JR Kyoto Station and bus terminal. It is linked via underground walkway which has lots of restaurants and cafes. It is almost fully sheltered except for the exit from the underground but that is just a 5sec walk to hotel. Room size is good, we stayed at Japanese style room, there is enough space for us to put 2 luggage. Ice is provided at vending machine near the lift. Basic toiletries are provided too. We stayed for 2 nights so we tried both the Japanese style and buffet breakfast. Japanese style was simple but nice. Buffet style has a decent spread of food, their bread n croissant are super soft and yummy. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Hotel does not have coin laundry. Room aircon was not stronge even though we lowered the temperature, we did not even need the duvets.

The location was great, near to train station and public transport. There were a lot of restaurants within the vicinity for dining. Both the reception and housekeeping staff were polite and friendly. The room key was the traditional type and you can give them the key for safekeeping when you go out. The staff will verify your identity when you asked for your key.

The room was a bit small and limited space for luggage. But I guess this is the normal size for hotels in Japan.

Spacious comfortable rooms, old school vibe but very well maintained. One of the few hotels on our trip that had adjoining rooms for a family of four. Excellent location in the same square as the Kyoto JR train station (actually faces the station) ease of transport from this location to other sites and lots of shopping and food choices in the immediate area. Room entry still uses a physical key!

May have just been our rooms but AC seemed borderline capable of maintaining the rooms at 24c - mind you this was during an exceptionally hot period of time with outdoor temps in the 35 to 37c range.
