The location is good and the street is quiet. The street near the hotel is so pretty. The room was very clean, and I really liked the wooden bathroom andthe wooden bathtub The room was larger than expected and the bathroom was also large.

We were pleasantly surprised on how spacious the room was. The bathroom was also super nice. The little gardens in the property were really cute too.

Loved the location and the traditional ryokan feel of the room, they also added a futon for our teenage son which was very comfortable. Staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly and spoke English well. It was our favorite place during our entire 2 week stay in Japan.
Really nothing—just note that the location can be a bit hard to find, even for a taxi driver, be sure to give yourself some extra time if arriving by foot.

The location in the Gion district was excellent, the aesthetics of this hotel were also very pleasing, and the room, though quite small, was comfortable. Notably, the bathroom was extremely well-designed and very enjoyable. The Japenese breakfast was also appreciated ( but not the continental breakfast served outside the hotel )
The room description did not match reality: it was advertised as having a garden view, but the room faced a green wall just 1 meter from the window. There was therefore no external view, and the room was very dark due to the lack of natural light. Additionally, I was informed the day before my arrival that luggage storage on the morning of our last day would not be possible because the property was closing, even though we had one last day to spend in Kyoto. As a result, we had to make a specific trip to the station to use lockers. It would have been better if the hotel had been more transparent about these aspects

The location is stunning. Located in the Gion district and close to multiple sightseeing locations. It's well worth being in the area compared to more central Kyoto. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive. They exceeded any expectation we had and solved every issue we had. Even when we had to leave a day earlier than intended due to the Typhoon, the staff was accommodating and even credited us for that final day. Couldn't recommend this place enough.
The breakfast was a traditional Japanese breakfast which was good, but it would be a bit nicer if the breakfast also came with japanese eggs.

I loved absolutely everything about this place. We were welcomed with bottles of ice cold water (in the sweltering July heat), and were introduced to an amazing bedroom with two single beds, a small living room area and an incredible bathroom. Very spacious and relaxing. The hotel is within walking distance of Yasaka Jinja (beautiful with the lanterns lit up at night), the Gion area (we were lucky enough to be there during the Matsuri festival and we were able to walk to and from the main streets of the float displays) and all the main bus lines so it is very easy to navigate to the so very many breathtaking sites in Kyoto. The air con is a huge plus, with an average of 36 degrees outside coming back to our room felt like heaven.. There are two types of breakfast, one traditional served in the ryokan, and one continental served in a café nearby. I cannot recommend this place enough and I only wish we had stayed a bit longer
There's nothing i didn't like

Welcome greeting was warm and all staff encountered were very receptive and responsive. Bathrooms were wonderful with full cedar lined walls which gave off a lovely scent to the room. Beds were comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious both at the cafe as well as at the property. I liked that one breakfast was more Western style while the other was more Japanese style. The location was very central and easy to walk to many of the sites as well as easy access to transit.

A small, well-located ryokan which has everything a traveller could want in a peaceful location which is also just minutes away from key sites in the Gion district of Kyoto. Our room, with a sofa, was well appointed and the bathroom had the lovely addition of a living sculpture just outside to add atmosphere. Morning meals were simple but filling and let us enjoy our day without us getting hungry, as well as being perfect in the heat of June just before the rainy season. Finally, we appreciated the no-shoes policy which meant the inn was clean.
Being a simple inn, there aren't any luxurries such as pool or large communal area or bar, although there was plenty of space and we never felt cramped.

- Stuff very nice, polite and helpful in every matter - Location was more than perfect for us and our needs - Room was clean, with perfect amenities and offering us the perfect vibe - Really loved the PJs :))
- The walls a bit thin and in one evening not sure if a family with kids making a lot of noise, but it ended eventually - You need to be sure the breakfast is a fit for you (not everyone is suit for a Japanese breakfast).

Very nice ryokan in Gion historical area, close to temples and other sightseeing sites, but at a walking distance to city center and shops - restaurants. Rooms are big (this is my second time here and enjoyed both rooms I've stayed at), and nice to stay in. Breakfast is served at ryokan (traditional japanese food only), but not every day. One out of 3 nights I has to have breakfast in a cafè 5 minutes from ryokan, where different food options were present. Staff is helpful and always available for needs.
Rooms are clean but staff should pay more attention in cleaning them, as there was a lot of dust on the floor, especially in some areas (meaning limited or no cleaning there) and a packet of sigarette left from previous guests was found behind table bed.
