The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is fantastic.

Overall the staff were very friendly. Except for one particular staff who was a little rude when our child was fussing during breakfast. He came over to tell him off when he’s only 1 year old n would not understand anything. Could have been more understanding towards children

Fantastic location just across the street of Kyoto station. Surrounded by malls, kyoto station itself has like 3 malls! You can get free tea and coffee (hot or iced) from the lounge in the lobby. Pretty big room for japan, plenty of room to pack for 3 people. Booked this location for easy access to kansai intl airport and it delivered exactly that. Only took us 25 mins to check out, walk to the station to buy our train tickets and get on the train. Really relieved a lot of the stress of catching our early flight.

It took us a solid 2 minutes to get from the lift to our room, the hotel building is so huge that we had to walk down like 4 hallways of rooms before we reached ours.

Location - excellent. Extremely close to the station so plenty of shopping & food options & very easy to get around the city & to other cities. Breakfast - wonderful range of Japanese and Western options (croissants & bakery goods, cereal, toast, cooked breakfast, mini pancakes/waffles) Hotel - very quiet :) Amenities bar was very well-stocked - lounge very nice - tea & coffee, PC to use to research our days out, very comfy - we didn’t have time to use the pool (/public bath) but I’m sure it would have been good. Separate men’s & women’s - lovely little gym that was extremely well kept and had the basics (treadmill, cycle bike, weights, floor space etc) - just what we needed - has washers / dryers if you need to do your own laundry (much cheaper to do it yourself - wish we’d done our laundry before leaving Kyoto, as our next hotel was v expensive to wash clothes in!)

- our room had v. limited cupboard space for our clothes BUT we did book the cheapest room so knew space might be a problem. & we stayed for 9 days and would happily have stayed for longer so it wasn’t that much of an issue - please can you put a water cooler in the lounge area (in addition to the gym) so it is easy to fill up our water bottles on our way out for the day?

What can I say, this place is a magnificent hotel. Above the Train station, so getting around is extremely simple, with a massive taxi rank out the front if that is your thing. Found it extremely easy to get around Kyoto staying here. The room was also very nice and a good size, staff extremely friendly. Would stay here again if in Kyoto.

We were moved from the Hotel Vischio Kyoto which is a couple of streets away to the Hotel Granvia as the Vischio was closed. The Granvia rooms were probably the best we stayed in on our Japan trip. They were spacious and had excellent facilities including a bath and walk-in shower. We had a twin single room with big king single beds. Our room (1127) was a bit dark and looked out mostly on a rather ugly building, but we could see the Kyoto Tower and a partial view of the city. Our friend's room, just around the corner, (1129) was the same in layout but the light and the view were excellent. They had a vista of the whole city. Both rooms were quite a hike to the lift but that wasn't a concern for us. Once we got used to the station we enjoyed exploring all the levels from the high escalators especially when the stairs were lit up at night. All in all a good stay.

This isn't really about the hotel but more about its location in Kyoto Station. It was Golden Week and incredibly busy. The station is huge and a bit of a tourist mecca in itself. It was crowded and noisy and we found it very difficult getting from the train to the hotel while dragging our bags and cases, and generally finding our way out again to certain exits in the station when we wanted to go sightseeing. Would have preferred a hotel that just opened onto the street.

The location was great!!! It’s only 2 minutes walking distance to the station and around 7 minutes to AEON mall (with a nice supermarket KOHYO). The room wasn’t spacious but clean and the hotel facilities were awesome. Onsen and steam room was a plus! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate available all day at the guest lounge. Breakfast (tried once) was a bit pricey but well served. I really recommend Vischio Kyoto! 😊

Stayed here for 5 nights and the hotel was clean, comfortable, quiet (except one night with some noisy neighbors talking on the hallway). Staff was mostly very courteous especially the ladies

Hotel restaurant was overpriced and the host on the first night was not very polite (maybe because we were there 20 minutes before serving end time?)

Location was great, close to the train station. Luggage storage pre and post checkout very convenient. Nice room size. Good coffee and green tea available for guests.

No bar or lounge on the property. Only 5 washer dryers for laundry - always busy. Bad lighting for makeup application.

Top quality everything. Great that we could get tea and coffee in the air conditioned lounge. The staff were really obliging. Wonderful location. Only 2 minutes to the station and Avantishopping centre.

Would have liked to have the restaurant open in the evenings after coming home exhausted from sightseeing.

Very clean, central location, nice staff, gym and also warm spa. Family room was great! We were 2 teenagers and parents. Breakfast was a bit pricey and no option for a La carte; only buffet.
