A very convenient location. The breakfast is a bit pricy but they deliver great quality breakfast. I also love the onsen and that it caters until 1am, especially for those who just came back late from sightseeing and bar hopping around the city, to be able to relax after all the hustle and bustle of a day is the best! Bed, pillows were comfortable and the room was clean! Make sure to stay here everytime you come to Kyoto, 'cause for sure, we will!

We couldn't find any socket near the bed area, and we had to leave our phones near the television which is like the only visible socket in the room. It would've been better if there were near the bed area as we are always using our phones.

This was our third stay at Sakura Terrace The Gallery (not to be confused with the other two Sakura Terrace Hotels nearby). We love the fact it's on the quieter side of Kyoto Station but only a short walk away. The open plan layout of the main building is very welcoming, particularly with free tea/coffee and a good value restaurant (not something you can say for most Japanese hotels). The rooms aren't huge by western standards but very functional and well equipped. Excellent hot baths are available in the south wing along with free laundry facilities. Didn't disappoint this time round - we shall return!

There were many delicious options for breakfast and they provide free coffee and tea to go for hotel guests throughout the day. There is even free drinks (alcohol included) during the evening and I really enjoyed sitting around the fire in the chilly weather. There is a 7-Eleven right across the road and Kyoto Station is a 5 min walk away. The staff has been very hospitable during my stay, lending me the use of the reception phone and also providing good service in general. The dinner option was pretty value for money and it tasted great too.

We really liked this hotel. A small, neat room, comfy bed. A complimentary welcome drink of any drink on the menu was a nice touch. Great location- 2 minute walk from Kyoto station and a 2 minute walk to Eco Trip Bikes where we hired e-bikes to explore for our time in Kyoto, 7/11 was 50m down the street. 700m from the river where we walked/ went for some morning runs. The hotel onsen was spacious & clean and there are lockers with key wrist bands. There is also a guest lounge with free massage chairs & a tea/ coffee bar which was nice to relax in. Laundry was either free or cheap with coin operation (my memory is failing me now) We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant but the menu looked nice, and they offered some takeaway

We didn't make use of the gym as planned- there were 2 treadmills an an ab bench in an open room sharing the laundry which was very hot due to the dryers going. But everything else was great

Location is perfect, the in-house facilities are superb. I loved the idea of the daily welcome drink with live music, and the nice courtyard. It was very relaxing to sit in one of the coaches and just chill, drink some tea from the complimentary table. The overall vibe is really nice. The breakfast is delicious. I definitely recommend!

Not perfectly clean. I do not say that it is dirty... let's say acceptable. When we entered a room, it was really dusty. The beds are not comfortable, especially the pillows. The cleaning service was uneven. It looked like the cleaning staff did not know a common procedure. It would be nice to sometimes change the menu in the breakfast. We stayed 10 days and it got little boring. Also, the dinner choices in the restaurant were kind of a letdown after the photos I saw here... All in all, despite the above, it is a perfectly nice hotel and we will stay there again, when in Kyoto.

Great Location. 3 minutes walk from Kyoto train station. Room had an outside balcony with table and chairs. The room was large by Japanese standards. The staff all spoke good English and were very helpful and efficient. There is a Hot baths/Onsen available free every day. There is a free 24hr coffee, tea and cold drinks bar. Every night you can get a FREE drink alcoholic or otherwise at the bar and there is also a good restaurant onsite. There is a seven eleven next door with an ATM. Lots of restaurants nearby. There are two shopping centres in the Train station and a large Aeon Mall about 10 mins walk away. Great hotel would definitely stay there again.

It was nice to be close to the train station. The station has almost all needed services as it is enormous. I liked that there was coffee and tea all day and also a free drink in the evening. The spa was nice and the massage chairs were a nice touch. We did not eat in the hotel so i cannot comment on the restaurant. There is a taxi stand on the next block so it was relatively easy to get a taxi to other parts of the city.

Trying to keep extra towels in room seemed a little difficult. Had to ask each day. Pillows are a little thin, but with extra pillow it was fine. There are a couple of other hotels with similar name and that caused some confusion - so make sure you know which "Sakura Terrace" you are booked in. It is an open air facility (no roof over lobby area) - so when it rained the lobby area was damp.

Extremely nice place for holiday. It provides a elegant and confortable environment with a very convenient traffice condition( 3 mins walk to kyoto station, 1mins walk to taxi station). The room space is very large, with a balcony and two kinds of curtain. Although it is near Kyoto Station, it is very quiet. The staff are nice, polite and helpful.

There's only one laundry room in this hotel, locals in the south building, which means you should walk for about 2 mins to the laundry if you stays in the north building. And you should clean the dryer by yourself before using it, or it would take a pretty long time to dry up your clothes. The sound insulation of the room door is not perfect, so you would hear the sound from other guests in the morning when they leaving their romm.

This place has everything! - excellent location close to the train station - for those who are keen to explore Kyoto and neighbouring cities (Nara, Osaka) - polite helpful staff, everyone had a decent level of English - amazing breakfast, free welcome drinks every night, and also simply the best kobe meat at the restaurant (and surprisingly affordable!) - modern clean rooms with a balcony - nice cosy reception, where you can also make free coffee (it's delicious!), onsen, laundry Just a heads-up that it is a bit pricey, but I would say it's worth it. We really didn't want to leave!

Wide range for breakfast, location is excellent. Welcome drink each evening was definitely welcomed after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. Restaurant food was delicious and very reasonably priced.

Toilet flush is very noisy even with the door close. My girlfriend bought me a slice of cake on my birthday and we brought it down during breakfast. We were explicitly told it was allowed even tho he could see there’s a candle sticking out, and my girlfriend got the candles from the hotel. We explained that it’s my birthday and it was only 1 slice of cake but the waiter insisted we could not have the cake in the restaurant. We closed the box and continued having our breakfast.
