It was a great stay. Located just a few steps from Kyoto station so it was easy to get around. Check-in was smooth and the staff friendly. My room was comfortable and relatively spacious with a work space and an ergonomic chair. WiFi was fast. Laundry facilities were available and the TV shows the availability of machines. Breakfast was really good with a large selection of Asian and Western options. 7-11 store right next to the hotel. It was a great stay and I’ll definitely return the next time I’m in Kyoto.

There was no view from my room but it was not a problem for me.

Very modern hotel with excellent location, just steps across the street from Kyoto Station. Lobby area has free fresh-brewed coffee and juice. An outside terrace patio was also available to enjoy drinks or relax. The room was more spacious than other properties we stayed at in Japan with nice furnishings. Nice bonus that the bathroom had a shower room with a glass door that separated it from the vanity/toilet area. Daily room cleaning was done and the entire facility was spotless. Very nice selection of food items at breakfast, offering both Japanese and Western plates. Staff always happy and greeting customers upon arrival and departure. A 7-Eleven is connected to the property on the first floor.

It's very near to JR Kyoto station Hachijo East exit, hence convenient to travel with trains and buses. Seems that there's a bus limousine (KIX <> Kyoto) stop nearby the hotel too. Breakfast at ground level is also nice. 7-11 is just beside the hotel at ground level. It's a walking distance (20mins) to Toji and Nishihonganji temples. The room itself already has quite good facilities (air humidifier, safe, touch panel air-con, etc) and amenities for me. Though some amenities (such as bath salt for bath tub, hair band, etc) are available at the lobby, beside the front desk. Bath and toilet is separated, so it's convenient for couple travellers.

The lobby is located at the 1 floor up from ground level. There's a notice saying that the elevator must stop at lobby level according to Japanese law. So, every time you leave the hotel from your hotel room, the elevator must stop at lobby level (level 2). The same when you go back to your room from outside, the elevator must again stop at lobby level. Well, the hotel is just abiding the law.

The Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was pleasant and comfortable and the wet room with shower and bath was excellent - a model design. The room was clean. We paid each day for breakfast which was really good with a great selection and the breakfast staff were friendly and attentive. The location near the rail and bus station was ideal without being noisy.

Not a complaint but having sampled the very comfortable buckwheat pillows at another hotel, I had hoped the Daiwa would also have them, but they did not seem to supply them. It did not detract from a very pleasant stay.

Very well located just a few minutes from the main Kyoto train station as well as two large indoor malls. Very clean and quiet. Thoughtful, courteous staff thruout the hotel. Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of food and drink. Easy, quick electronic check out. There’s a change machine in the lobby for all denominations of Yen…great for getting change to ride the subway, bus, and trains. Laundry on 6th floor (same machine both washes and dries your clothes and you do not need to bring laundry detergent as machine adds it for you!). Vending and ice machines on 5th floor, as well as a 7 Eleven store attached to the hotel on the first floor! Hotel offers a very helpful transportation information sheet with a long list of tourist sites and which bus/subway/train to take to get there from the Kyoto train station. The hotel also gave us two large umbrellas to use on a rainy day.

At last a hotel room in Japan with a bit of space....true enough not sufficient to put two suitcases out of sight but adequate enough to obviate the need to leap over a suitcase or two to reach the bed! Turn on the TV to find out how your washing is getting on... little other reason to switch it on. Despite best efforts screen mirroring didn't work and the other channels were Japanese quiz shows, soberly presented Japanese news, a few Chinese channels or the Tour de France from 2019! There's a 7 Eleven attached to the hotel so if you miss the 9pm restaurant kitchen closures (which we did countless times) there's the hotel microwave to entertain you.... unfortunately you can't see the progress of your frozen chicken ramen from the telly! Good location at the back of Kyoto station.....we could see the Shinkansen arrive on the dot! Very little noise from there to trouble you at night Enjoy!

Nothing worthy of note.

Right at the corner of Kyoto Station, easy access to any tourist attractions with metro service. The room size was big compared with the same price in other hotels, and bathtub was considerate for guests after long day trip. The restaurant breakfast was hearty, with plenty of Japanese food as well as western options.

I found out 20mins before check out time that they would charge extra 1000 yen if we could not check out right at 11am. But there was no other signs or notice telling us this. We had to rush out of the hotel. In other hotels, there was a half hour buffer after estimated check out time.

good breakfast with many choices. for tourists returning in 2022: they want you to wear the plastic gloves around the buffet areas just FYI. great location literally right next to Kyoto station. I personally liked this because this is the station you'll use to go to all nearby attractions like the shrines, Nara, and connecting to other cities like Tokyo and Hiroshima. Right next door is a 7/11. Down the street is even more restaurants. Facilities are new, bathroom with amazing rain shower, comfortable bed. I liked everything.
