Very nice hotel close to Kyoto Central Station - just across the street. Comfortable rooms with limited view. Typically (for Japan) equipped with everything. in addition litttle Onsen on the ground floor - open till late night. Free coffee and luggage storage in the the reception area. Friendly staff. Convinient to arrive with Shinkanse high speed trains. Lot of restaurants in the station and neighborhood - only very limited in the late night. Metostation closeby.

Nothing. Just to know: the acces to the lively downtown district and attrractions require bus or metro travel

I love the location of the hotel because it was right across the Kyoto train station. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The room we stayed in had the view of the bullet trains. The staff were very friendly and answered any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were worried when making the reservation - our fist time to Japan, travelling w/ an over-active 4-yr old, forecast of a serious typhoon, possible cancellation of flights/JRs, etc. - all the disadvantages you could think of a trip; but this wonderful stay just nailed all the challenges and gave us a wonderful start! There is always at least one English-speaking at the counter; the room is tiny but clean; literally facing the Kyoto JR station and you only need walk across a tiny crossroad right in front of Hachijo exit (actually you could SEE the hotel front from the platform); and the yusen gave everyone a great time even when we were trapped in Kyoto due to Typhoon No. 7. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel coz you could have so many options right in the massive station/mall across the street. While having all the above with this price...simply couldn't be better!

Like most economic hotel choices in Japan, the twin-bed room is indeed tiny (around 20m2, but well-organized and equipped).

Location was excellent - right across the street from Kyoto Station's West Hachijo Exit. The bathroom was one of those popular modular ones, but it did not have a high step to get in. It actually had a small step down to get in. Those high steps are terrible for those of us with disabilities and / or who are short. Crowded bathroom, though, as most are. Liked that I could go downstairs to do my laundry but I didn't have to wander through the lobby; the laundry/vending/ice machine room was behind a door that separated it and the elevators from the lobby. My room was quiet; I rarely heard anyone else nor did I hear noise from the outside, except sirens now and then.

Beds in Japan tend to be firm, and sometimes the pillows are, too. Both were applicable in this case. The mattress did have a thin pad on it, so that gave the bed some cushioning, but it was still tough on my arthritic joints. I will mattresses in Japan - at this hotel and all others I've been add - could be somewhere in the middle, not too soft, not too firm. The pillow wasn't too bad, though. Also - tiny thing- I wish the light switch for the bathroom was located on the room side of the door, rather than on the front door side of the bathroom door. It was just me staying there, so I preferred to keep the bathroom door open if I needed to get there quickly, but I couldn't because I needed to get to the light switch, which was on the other side.

We ( us and our kindy kid) had a lovely stay in the executive twin room. you can see the hotel on the opposite side of the hachijo side exit arriving from jr station. This side is also near to the kintetsu line entrance to Nara. 3 convenience shops are round the corner. I washed laundry daily, there is a WiFi app to see available machine and collect the laundry with your pin lock. You can choose your pillow from the pillow bar near the reception. I enjoyed the public bath tremendously. The hotel staff assisted me to send luggage to Narita airport ( cash only) from kyoto to Narita airport.Highly recommend this hotel for easy access, spacious room and public bath.

At the time of our stay, there was construction in next building. We weren't bothered too much as we were out in the day time :)

We did not have breakfast at the venue. We decided that we would prefer to have more authentic experiences - also we thought that the restaurant / Cafe didn't open early enough and didn't stay open late enough to allow for flexible attendance. Finally we felt that the cost was probably a little high (ie) it would have been around $40 Australian for the two of us to eat compared to two coffees and some raman soup for around $20 Australian for two people in the suburbs. Loved the on site onsens

We stayed at the site on three occasions. The last room hired wasn't particularly clean - there was a pretty deep level of dust on the windowsill. We did not like the recycled plastic drinking straw filled pillows. We would have preferred the foyer coffee to be available 24 x 7

The hotel was directly opposite Kyoto Station and we spent no time locating the hotel. The hotel room was surprisingly more spacious than the one we booked in Tokyo as the room was significantly bigger with 2 single beds. The room also had a small coffee area where we could do some research on the laptop using the coffee table as the support. Take note to take an extra pillow upon check-in from the 'pillow spa' as the one pillow provided in the room proved insufficient. The hotel also provides luggage keeping service for their guests on the day of check-out at their cloak locker, available from 0500Hrs - 0000Hrs, which saved us quite a bit of money storing the luggage at Kyoto station's paid lockers. (This enabled us to head down to Osaka via Shinkansen [Thank God for JR Rail Pass] before we collected our luggage at 1400Hrs to take a taxi to our Onsen Hotel). Our package included breakfast and the breakfast spread was generally good as it helped fuel our journey exploring the attractions in Kyoto.

There was generally nothing much to dislike for us as we're a pretty chill couple and we were pleasantly surprised when we entered the room after check-in.

This week is their 4th anniversary and it’s apparent in their approach. Staff at the front desk speak a variety of languages, and are happy to converse through google translate for others. They have a great attitude and they take care of detail cleaning well. There are segregated on-site Onsen for males and females and they have a services area with coin operated drink vending machines, washer driers with code locks to stop others getting access to your laundry, wifi is reliable but not super fast. They have free coffee in the foyer and coin lockers and bag storage facilities - The site is convenient to the rail and bus and central to many local restaurants and a few 7/11 type markets

The rooms are arguably small - if I stayed again I would ask for a room with two single beds as they appear to work better for the smaller space.

The place is the best if you are planning to use trains everyday. If you want to use your JR Pass to see other cities (Osaka,Nara,Hiroshima, etc) but you want to stay at Kyoto and use it as a base, this is the best place for you. The whole place was very clean. The Japanese bath was nice with many amenities. The washing/drying machines also. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast was delicious with many options.

Very small room but that's how most of the hotel rooms in Japan are. TIP TO TRAVELERS: Get suitcases that open on top. The smoking room needs upgrade..

The proximity to Kyoto Station, it just across the road from the West exit. While the room is small, it is adequate. There is also a nice hot pool, a great way to relax after a busy day sightseeing. It has all the amenities you'd find at an Onsen, showers, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, hairdriers. Scales too, good to check your weight, maybe cut back on some of the yummy food available. There is also a laundry available for a small fee.

The bed against the wall. I know it couldn't be any other way as the room is not big enough. But, once you are in bed it is ok.
