The place was nice and clean and close to the station and a few shrines. The kitchen was equiped and the rooms had some space. The bathrooms were a lot and clean so bonus also.

The place attracts alot of loud noisy travellers that like to play games in the common area & say “Americans is the best country in the world nightly. So if u want quiet time it’s not possible here. Also since the blankets aren’t washed daily. When someone checks out the will put the blanket on ur bed to hang (top bunk) so if u her clean stuff on ur bed it’s automatically smelly and dirty from the person who just used the bed

K's House Kyoto impressed me with its spacious and versatile second-floor pantry area, ideal for dining, studying, and luggage organization. The availability of free coffee and tea added to the inviting atmosphere. The presence of an elevator was a convenient touch for travelers with heavy luggage. I like their strong and very reliable wi-fi connection as well! Overall, K's House Kyoto offers a comfortable and accommodating stay, making it an excellent choice for visitors to Kyoto.

I think there was no heater or the heater was not fully functioning on the fifth floor where I was staying. It's kind of difficult going out my room when I needed to go to the bathroom since it was winter when I visited.

Great value for the price paid. we had the double bed room with a private bathroom. The room was nice and clean. The Keihan railway is a 5 min walk and we used it to go to Shijo-Kawaramachi area - very convenient. The bus stations are a bit further away. I would get a room with a bunk bed so we would have more space inside the room. The room is small but the size is decent per the Japanese room size standard. The staff was very helpful.

I wish the curtain shade was darker. The neon lights from outside made the room a little bright for me at night. We were in the Tokyo's K's house. That room had a darker curtain shade. It is a 10 minute walk to the Kyoto train station. Close enough to walk, but not easy if you have a lot of luggage.

A really nice hostel, located close to the Shichijo station and also not that far from Kyoto station. It has a really nice common room to spend some time with fellow travellers. It's decently clean, but nothing special and the stuff is really nice and helpful, but if you need anything such as ear plugs - it's paid extra. Overall a really good place to stay in Kyoto.

There's nothing to do in the close proximity to the hostel. There's just one good ramen place and not much more. Everything in Kyoto is a train ride away.

Awesome location. The hotel is located just 15 mins from Kyoto Station, and within 5 mins walk to bus stop that brings you close to Kiyomizu temple area. The front counter staff were super friendly and fluent in English. At night, the place is quiet without the usual annoying street noises for a big city, which is really great for a good night sleep.

The bathroom was uni-sex (which I don't mind) but for some, this may be an issue. One thing is, you must leave your shoes at the lockers provided on the ground floor. So, if you brought a pair of tall boots, it may not fit.

Reasonably good spot in the middle of Kyoto Place is cleaned constantly so very clean Staff speak very reasonable english The common area is great and quite large Washing machines, kitchen, all necessary amenities

Forgot that Kyoto has a city tax - isn't too much but if you're staying several nights you can expect to pay a little bit extra, I think it's around 2-5% or something, I think I paid something like $15 AUD for my 9 day stay. Also you have to make your own bed, they don't do that for you.

I stayed here for 4 days and really enjoyed the stay. The hostel is 1km from the Kyoto station and is easily accessible by trains or bus. There are also couple of convenience stores around. The lounge is very spacious and is good to have a chat with people.

Only small concern is the room is like a typical dorm and not a capsule, so you share it with 6 people. So if you're a late night person, you need to make sure you don't turn on the lights or disturb others.

I had a pleasant stay for 4 nights in the 4-bedroom female dorm. Space to store your luggage is more than I could ask for. The location is 10 mins walking away from Kyoto station (you can go anywhere from here) and Shichijo station which can take you to Fushimi Inari, Uji, Nara, Gion relatively fast with the express train. The accommodation is clean, they clean the common places daily. Like any other place is Japan, you only need to be responsible for your own bed. The laundry facility is nice (¥500), you only have to avoid the busy hours (evening). Pantry and dining room are spacious, you get to meet other guests there, really nice! The staff are awesome and very friendly!

The bed has no curtain.

We absolutely loved this place but truly the location is excellent also. Sometimes being out of the major tourist zone is a huge benefit. We had the best coffee shop experience and restaurant experience in walking distance of this hostel. Amazon coffee.. (check them out) run by the same owners since the 1970’s. Exceptional coffee, service and shrimp sandwiches. Also if you’re keen to try Yakiniku, you won’t find better than the one about 5 minutes walk away(just before you cross the bridge, called Yamadaruma.. google it). Our minds were blown at how great this hostel and the neighbourhood is. Don’t feel you have to go to the hip new places. The old establishments just here are awesome. The chill out space and dining area/ kitchen are amazing at this hostel

Very good relatively to the price you pay, very nice and helpful staff members who speak English very well. Relatively good location. The common space is great, and you get to meet a lot of people, which - I think - is the real strong point of this hostel. You might find better options if you're really not interested in meeting new people, but, nevertheless, it's a safe choice and very good for the price you pay.

Could have been cleaner. There are private storage spaces but no lockers - but the doors of the 8-bed dormitories are always safely locked.
