This is an incredible stay. Well worth the cost, easily. It's right in the heart of the historic area and still close to restaurants, the shopping area, many cafes, and 7/11. You can walk around close to home at night and see the Geisha going about their workspaces. The staff are so incredibly helpful and friendly, very warm and welcoming. The amenities are brilliant, free tampons, tissues, earbuds, brushes, soap, conditioner, shampoo, coffee, tea, etc. A fresh towel every day. It's very clean, the beds, bathrooms and kitchen, toilets - everything is spotless. It's very secure, you need a card to get it, and there are stairs or a lift at the end of the floor. Excellent internet. Very close to buses and trains - although the system in Kyoto isn't as complex as Osaka or Tokyo. It has a small kitchenette - but all things you could need to cook. There are clothes washing facilities there, but there are also larger more industrial washes directly across the road (pictures in my photos). It's very quiet and peaceful. The aircon is on strong at night (19/20 degrees), which is nice for the pods and for sleeping (it was hot summer in Japan at the time). Big fluffy quilts and clean sheets - if you stay longer than a week, they change them weekly (I was there 3 weeks). The beds/pods are larger than any I have been in, and I have stayed in Japan for 9 weeks so have seen a few. They also have bike hire - ebike, or normal bike - an excellent way to see the sites, since it's a little more spread out and has less public transport. Really wonderful place and stay. They do post a lot of guides and info on the Instagram, which is helpful to check out and contact them on if you want.
The only fault I can think of were things completely out of the venue's control, like loud international tourists (acknowledging I am also a tourist). But in Japan, even in hostels, it is common to be quiet and respectful of others' space and solitude, tourists rarely do this, and think it's more like the social European hostels - where you're there to meet and socialise. The piles of their smelly shoes at the front door.

I LOVE the convenient location and clean facility. I’m very grateful of the women only rooms. The capsule room is comfortable and the overall organization is very pleasant.
The room can be dry, perhaps because of the heater. It would be really nice if the hostel can have a humidifier or something similar to deal with the dry air. I had multiple nose bleeds because of the dryness.

I think this place deserve a higher rating. The room is big, clean, bed super confy, best bed ever, bed area really big and spacious. The showers were amazing, I loved it, and in the bathroom they provide you with everything, shampoo, conditioner, cotton buds, cotton paper for make up remover, one time use hairbrush, hairdryer and hair straighteners, this was the top. I celebrated my birthday in Kyoto and it was nice to make nicer my hair after backpacking for months and looking like a homeless. But most importantly they provide you a towel and they change it every day for free, this is priceless and amazing. The common area is nice and there is a coffee machine wich you can get one coffee for 100 yen, this makes you save a lot of money. In the common area there are a lot of books for reccomendations, guides about restaurants, touristy places etc, I found it quiet smart. I really enjoyed my staying there. I will for sure come back again. Thank you ♥️
This is mostly for your knowledge, there is only one washing machine and one dryer but outside the hostel infront of the building there is a laundry available with more machines.

The location is nice to explore and close to sanjo station pontocho malls souvenirs shoops coffe places and reataurant. Location is pretty convenient You can spot some geishas at night walking around.Wifi is nice. I stayed first in mixed room then re book om female room they accomodate my prefferences and that was nice. They have coffe and matcha onn property and water dispenser cold and hot. Fridge cant be packed sometimes. They change towels everyday and bathrooms are well kept.
borders of the doors have dust acummulation, on showers extractor and corners of stuff just need like a detailed cleaning not the regular they do. Missing those spots on cleaning surfacesssss

The hostel is located super close to public transport (7 mins walk to the station). The bed was so comfortable and they have so many amenities (free towels, hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, conditioner etc.). They also have a vending machine, coffee/tea machine, water, laundry facilities (but there is also a laundry service across from the hostel too). Overall, an enjoyable stay.
I waited around 20-30 mins to check-in because the receptionist wasn't there. I had called the bell numerous times, only to be ignored and I finally found the receptionist sitting in the back office with her headphones on.

Good location, comfortable bed, clean, and friendly staff.
No place to put stuff down or hang stuff up in the shower area. No free or complimentary coffee or drinks, requires money. Extra lockers with locks require money.

This accommodation was absolutely fantastic, and I couldn’t be happier with my stay! The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the dorm room was spotless and well-maintained. I especially appreciated getting a fresh towel every day—a thoughtful touch that made the stay even better. The bathroom was beautiful and exceptionally clean, with all the amenities you could need. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. The location is also a huge plus—just a short walk to the metro and bus stations, making it super convenient to explore the area. Bonus points for having a lift and providing slippers for extra comfort. I highly recommend this place—it truly exceeded all expectations!

A Traditional hostel with Modern Facilities. The bed has a tatami Japanese mat. The shower rooms are equipped with Makeup removing solution, Hair dryer, Hair Curl, hair clips, Lotions, Shampoo, Conditioner and Body wash. They also have a basket to carry your stuff into the shower. There is a vending machine in the hostel. The common room area has coffee vending machine and traditional Japanese style seating, also the regular seating. They store your luggage if you come in early. Walking distance from Gion Higashiyama district. Walking distance from Sanjo Keihan station, which has trains to Fushimi Inari and Sanjo Bus station/ sanjo subway which has trains/bus to Arashiyama. 2 convenience stores are stone throw away from the hostel.

High quality and modern hostel. For the dorms they are considerate enough to turn off any beeping sound when someone taps their card on the lock (not the case in many other hostels...). The common area is nice. Possible to store luggage before and after check in. You wouldn't think staying in a 20.bed dorm sounds like a good idea if you want to.rest, but I'm telling you the hostel thought it all through so the noise is minimal and the comfort is very good web for a big dorm (of course also.depends how civilised your room mates are...).
It's a bit pricey, 50 eur per night for some 20 bed dorm but this is Kyoto, babe.... and not much space for luggage. I'd stay there again anyway because it's still.a good deal for Kyoto.

The capsule was spacious and had a tatami floor. The common areas were also pretty and well equiped. I inly stayed for a night, but I could see that people had a good time interacting with each other in the common areas. I came before the check-in time and they let me leave my luggage there for free. They provided a lock so nothing would be lost. Finally, the bathroom has everything you could possible need. The provide towels, face wash, shampoo and conditioner, hair products, etc.
I wish they provided bigger lockers. The capsule had a small safe for your important belongings like passport, walled and a small bag. However, when I left for the day I had to leave my bag pack in my capsule without proper security besides trusting the other guests. You could still have access to a locker, but they charged you extra money.
