We were pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The showers and onsen are on the first floor but this didn’t bother us. The free tea and coffee felt like a nice luxury after coming from a dirty hostel in Osaka. There is free laundry (diy) but the dryers do take a couple of hours to dry your clothes. The rooms are smallish but clean and all you need to sleep in. The people on the desk don’t speak the greatest English but they’re still lovely and helpful.

We noticed lots of overseas tourists being rude and aggressive to the people on the front desk when they weren’t given what they wanted or struggled to understand them- that was sad! Please be kind to them. They’re doing their best!!

The location was great, if you want a calm and quite place to rest and relax, but if you are more of the kind of party that is not the spirit of this hotel. Also a night all the common area was full. will be better with more room, and additional options for coffee also will be good.

You should advertise the customers that is shared bathroom and is japanese style, for some people this can be unexpect and uncomfortable and during the purchase this was not clear. Also the bedroom could include a little more room or a more hooks to hang your back pack, a little spot to put cloths or something, and the mobiliary is not enough could be improved. If you go with a partner this could be a little tight.

The location was great, it was a short walk to a major train station, the subway, and a bus stop. It was also really close to where the tour buses meet for Limon tours which was a plus. The shower stalls are BEAUTIFUL, super spacious and clean. Even though the room was small there is ample space under the bed to store your suitcases which was nice. Oh! and the tea corner in the lobby was so nice! I loved making myself a pot of tea at the end of the day and relaxing in the lobby area

The bed is a very thin mattress. I have a bad back and surprisingly it didn't make it hurt, which was nice, but I can't claim it was super comfortable. it wasn't rock hard though so I'd say it was acceptable

This was one of my favorite stays in Japan. The tea and coffee bars were more extensive and of better quality than expected. The reception was helpful in explaining how to best travel to different sites and sold bus/metro passes. Loves experiencing the public bath and the music streamed from their sister hotels was a great touch at night time. The location is good; near the main Kyoto train station as well as a metro stop and bus stops. 2 convince stores within 5 min walk.

I found the bed to be hard and the pillow not to be very supportive, but I've also slept on worse beds. There are not a lot of restaurants in the direct vicinity of the hotel so its best to eat before heading back to the hotel.

Good location where the hotel was a 7 minute walk from Kyoto Station making it convenient for travel. The stay was comfortable and the bathroom/private bath were nice to use at the end of a long day of exploring.

There was one evening that we got back late and most of the restaurants in the area were closed. Me and my partner decided to get dinner from the convenience store (rice with yakitori skewers) and went to the hotel lobby lounge to eat. We were eating for about 5 minutes when the hotel staff told us we had to leave because our food had too strong of an odour. We did abide to their request and brought our remaining dinner back to our room but were a little confused as there was no one else in the lobby at the time we were eating AND staff told us that we could eat food downstairs the day we checked-in. So perhaps something got lost in translation - not a big deal I guess.

Very clean Staff are friendly I loved the common lounge are and learning how to make coffee the Japanese way. The hotel give you free pyjamas and slippers to wear whilst staying at the hotel. Close to Kyoto Station (less than 10mins walking). Free laundry facilities were good.

The dryer didn’t dry our clothes even after using it for 1hr and 30mins. Minor issue considering the laundry facilities were free and they give you free detergent to use as well.

The hotel was very modern and well designed. The bed was very comfortable. In-room amenities included a toothbrush, toothpaste, pajamas, towels, hairdryer, and bag for taking to the bath area. There was also an area in the lounge with some additional items you could take up to your room if needed including pillows and luggage racks. Really enjoyed the shared bath space but it was a bit on the small side. There are 5 shower stalls and 4 sit down types in the bath space. It was nearly empty when I bathed at 10pm on a Thursday. There is also a wall of different shampoo and conditions you can choose from which was a nice touch.

Room was a bit small as the bed took up 2/3rds of the space. Provided pajamas were a bit too small for me. Different sizes would be appreciated.

Location is good, close to main station. The public bath is clean, providing all necessary items. although it's a small bath but quite comfortable. The public lobby area is good, providing many magazines, free herbal teas, coffees and small oven. There is free laundry for use, it's so convenient for traveller, although there might be a queue. wifi is stable.

one of the morning staff can't understand english very well. She misunderstood and can't communicate very well. the bed is not really comfy. pillow and duvet, sheet covers are not very good quality. seems a bit old and used. pillow is too small and soft/flat. sound proof is not very good, i can hear noises from the aisle way.

Big and spacious room with a sink, towels and amenities provided, access to great tea/coffee in the common area, less than 10 mins walk to Kyoto Station! Also, the shared bath with the various shampoos and conditioners, as mentioned by many other guests.

Not very clean. My room was alright (way cleaner than the average APA hotel room at least!!) but there were clumps of long hair all over the carpets in the hallway (at least on the 3rd floor) which weren't cleaned during my 3 days there. The sink in the shared ladies' toilet was clogged by the first night of my stay and was completely full of dirty water by the time I left. And I KNOW several housekeepers saw it get fuller each day. Also the mattress was so thin and hard (but soft pillows) I woke up on the second day with a bruise on my lower back LOL.

We liked the place especially due to the short distance from the train station. Shops like 7/11 were very close to the hotel. Also - staff was really friendly. Room was rather small - but it was fine for us as we were used to it in Japan. Bed was really, really comfortable. There were 2 toilets for men and 2 toilets for women on the floor - next to the lift. It was ok. The bathroom with showers and small onse was on the ground floor. It was great! Spacious with many different cosmetics. Although there were many people in the hotel I did not feel that. It was possible to buy a day-transport card for Kyoto in the reception (very convenient). I think it was possible to drink free tea and coffee on the ground floor but we didn't try it. I would stay there again.
