Hotel is in a great location for those who like to get away from the busy main streets. It's on the less popular side of the station, but we enjoyed being able to escape the people and walk home on quiet streets after a busy day out and about. Breakfast food was delicious - but mainly Japanese and the offerings changed each day. They do have cereals and breads on options. Maybe not the best for fussy eaters.

I wish there was a more organised rubbish sorting system. We always had a lot of trash and the tiniest bin ever.

The hotel is a short-walk from Kyoto station, so a great place to stay when exploring the wider area, with easy access to central Kyoto, Arashiyama, Fushimi Inari and beyond. The rooms were fine, with comfy beds and extremely powerful showers. We did not use the onsen but it was nice to have this as an option. There are plenty of places to eat at or grab food from nearby.

There was a strong smell in the first lobby that is very unpleasant; it’s definitely off-putting and makes you not want to stay in that part of the hotel for very long. Additionally, the lighting in the room isn’t great. There seems to be no light above or even near the mirror, which makes it very hard to use.

location was great close to bus stop and train of 3 min walk or you can even walk to Kyoto for 15 mins that is if you are up to it. Place give you free popsicle, 1 per person per day.

Not a tattoo friendly place and was unable to use public bathroom facility there so that experience was something I did not get to experience there. Laundry mat wash and dry was good for wash by not for dry. Paid extra for drying which took additional 1 hour and was still damp, ended up drying the clothes in my room. Total time to wash and dry was 2.5 hrs and still had to dry again back in my room. Room that I got the bathroom sick tap was weak with water flow like dripping droplets. But i was on holiday so it did not bother me much as the shower tap worked. It would bother me if I was there for work and had to wait awhile to fill up a cup of water just to brush my teeth and wash my face. When you arrive and check in you need to pay additional tax upfront.

Very nice experience. Many and various amenities were provided, water was offered during our stay and the cleaning staff was more than helpful when we need some extra things for the room. The breakfast was great. Should you are not a fun of Japanese breakfast and you stay a long time, you might feel a little tired of the same western pastry everyday, so you can book breakfast for some days and not your whole stay.

While we enjoyed the overall experience, it is important to note the room cleanliness. A bit more attention to detail in cleaning would be appreciated. Small improvements in this area would enhance the overall stay. The breakfast area with the tables is closed after breakfast. It would be nice to keep it open since there is not much room in the lobby when many people are there at the same time.

Really comfortable hotel with great facilities and only a short 5 minute walk from Kyoto station. There was also a metro station on the next corner if you didn’t want to walk to the main station up the road. We booked superior twin rooms so that we had more space and this did not disappoint. Room size was great, loads of space for 2 people and luggage, with a little table and chairs to sit at. The hotel has a public onsen for hotel guests only which my daughter used most days. There was a freezer with free ice lollies too (great to help cool off in the summer heat and humidity). The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful, especially when we arranged our luggage shipping to our next hotel from Kyoto to Osaka. Beautiful entrance to the hotel also.

Lots of places to sit and have a conversation with friends and family, with vending machines too, but would have been nice to have a proper bar area. I think we expect this everywhere as we have this in the Uk and Europe. Restaurant was only open for breakfast (although we ate out every day whilst exploring). None of this spoilt the experience and it was fabulous.

The hotel boasted an ideal location, conveniently situated a short stroll from the train station, which afforded us effortless access to public transportation. Our concerns about the adequacy of space for three gentlemen were swiftly allayed upon arrival; the accommodation was quite spacious and comfortable. Additionally, we were delighted to find a variety of dining establishments located just below the hotel, all offering an array of culinary delights at exceptionally reasonable prices.

There is not much to say in terms of dislikes, however, much of the experience felt self-service. However, this is not really an issue as most of the staff were very kind. Thanks so for the wonderful stay!

The location, shoji screens on window, tablet for recording information, newness of building, helpful staff, quality mugs and cups in room, hot public bath

Very small bathroom, limited hanging space, wires hanging out from wall under tv with floating PowerPoint - where is the safety / modern technology of this, poor street signage , self help to bathroom and tea/coffee facilities , location of smoking room between elevators and reception lead to continuous smoke pollution as the door was not closed properly, no division between breakfast area and reception

The room assigned to us is relatively small, but is packed with full amenities! The bed is comfortable and it comes with a free use of robe (mainly for use in their hot bath). If you also select eco mode, you can have free water bottle per person checked in. They have free iced popsicle everyday as a treat, and the complimentary items like toothbrush, cleansers can be picked up right beside the counter. They also allow early luggage storage in case you arrive early. Inside the hotel, the re is a coin operated massage chair, coin operated laundry area, vending machines of drinks and ice cream, and free water station for everyone. the interior of the hotel is really nice! If you take the bus back to the hotel, the bus stops right beside the hotel premises, so it's actually concenient. from kyoto station, you only have to walk around 5-10 mins to reach the hotel. My baby enjoyed the stay because of the comfortable sheets! ♥ Overall, we had a really pleasant stay, and the price is really fair! the staff are also friendly and really tried to accomodate us, even with limited english communication skills, still they tried their best to assist us.

Excellent quality of service and comfort. This place even comes with a manga section, gender-separated indoor + outdoor onsens and free ice popsicles for guests. A wide variety of toiletries (facial products, dental, shaving) are also provided. The rooms are slightly bigger than a typical Japanese standard which counts towards comfort. TVs are compatible with YouTube and each room has its own WiFi connection. Very good value for its price, given the standard you receive.

Quite a walk from Kyoto’s main station if you have luggage. Sink had what looked like bar droppings when we checked in which we had to get rid of using boiling water but we never saw that again.

I really liked the location of the hotel! It was perfectly sandwiched between a Lawson and a 7-Eleven. Meaning it was easy and super accessible when it came to getting anything you needed during the night or what not! The room was everything you expected a hotel room to be. Clean, cosy, quiet, and comfortable. I also really liked the touch of the paper screen over the windows. While I didn't stay at a traditional Japanese hotel, this small touch reminded me that I was in Japan and definitely made what normally is an average, cookie-cutter design a little more fashionable!

It wasn't anything against the hotel, but my room was towards the end of the corridor. I wish that I was staying a little closer to the lift/elevator, but hey.. someone has to sleep towards the end of the corridor haha. To be honest, in doing so, my room was quieter and more peaceful. So something seemingly bad turned good!
