I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Hakuba. Perfect quaint hidden gem of a ryokan. The rooms are incredibly clean, comfortable, the beds are firm but not overly so. The overhead light is dimmable, the room is always warm and cozy. The breakfast buffet is nice and seasonal and offers great variety. The onsen is so nice after a day on the slopes and everything is always clean. The owner is incredibly hard working and sweet, going out of his way to give rides to the bus station if he’s free and calling shuttle buses to pick us up at the hotel entrance. Loved my stay here so much.

The room was nice and spacious. Very clean and neat. We chose a room with tatami floor and futons. Beautiful view of the mountains. The hosts very friendly and helpful. Easy access to laundry room/kettle room. Fresh towels and robes were always available on each floor. If you wanted the room serviced just talk at the reception. The location is great. 15 min walk to the Happo Bus terminal. And the shuttle bus station next to the hotel. The hotel its a bit old but for me its part of the charm just a glimpse in the past. I liked that upon entering the building all guests must take their shoes off and take a pair of slippers. It was much easier to come down for breakfast. It felt very cozy and nice. Brealfast western and japanese. The majority of the guests were non'japanese, most probably from Australia therefore I would have liked a more western bfast. But still, you had plenty to choose from. I liked best the french toast! Free shuttle from the train station to the hotel.

The walls were pretty thin so we could easily hear other guests. It was supposed to serve dinner too but unfortunately it didn't although it was mentioned in the description. Its pretty important to have half board included with the hotel because there are limited places where to eat and everything is fully booked.

Quaint looking motel with traditional Japanese Inn keeper. The rooms are more generous than photos perceive so it was great having plenty of space to relax in after a day on the slopes. Tucked just behind town it's a few seconds away from all of Happo shops and restaurants as well as Lawsons. Really liked the complimentary shared onsen bath in the basement level every day after being on the mountain and very close to the bus terminal where most transport arrives from. You can also walk 5-10min easily to the base of the ski slopes without having to catch a bus.

Great location - close to the Happo Bus Terminal and only a few minutes walk away from the free shuttle bus stop (Mount Station) to Happo Mountain. The hotel is also a shuttle bus stop for shuttles towards Goryu/47. A family-run business for generations and the owner is very lovely. We took a coach from Hakuba Station and the owner drove us to Hakuba station in the morning (note this is only based on his availability, eg. not during peak check-in time). The hotel had a specific warm room at the entrance to store ski/snowboard and other gear overnight. There was a simple buffet breakfast and the menu slightly changed daily (stayed here for a few nights).

Hakuba Hotel Oiguya very centrally located, only a short walk to the Happo Gondola and plenty of restaurants. If you want to ski other mountains, you can walk 5 minutes to the Happo bus terminal and jump on a free shuttle to many other mountains. The onsen is open great hours and is perfect after a day on the slopes. The staff are so friendly and helpful.

If you're used to sleeping on a Western bed, the futon mattresses are not super comfortable, but it is what you would expect from a traditional Japanese room.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the breakfast buffet was amazing and changed each day meaning there was always something new to try on offer! We had rooms on the annex side, one with an ensuite and the other without. It is worth mentioning that the shared bathroom is the onsen bathrooms (which traditionally do offer no privacy). We did really enjoy the onsen, particularly after a day of skiing.

Location! Only 6mins walk from Hakuba bus terminal and ski bus pick up for all resorts. Restaurant and supermarket are all within 10mins walk. Ski rental Woody’s only 4mins. Private onsen was relaxing and cheaper compared to other places in Hakuba. Rooms are spacious & clean. Hotel offers free pick up and drop off from Hakuba train station. There is ski room to leave your skis and snow board free of charge & free parking. Breakfast had variety of western and Asian food which was substantial.

Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hakuba. This hotel has all you need. Clean, spacious, fantastic breakfast included, excellent onsen and run by a 3rd generation family who work tirelessly and happily all hours of the day to help make your stay enjoyable and easy.

There is a beautiful lounge and bar space on level 2 which has a fireplace and terrace but it has not been operational during both my stays. would love to see the fireplace going, some music and maybe even the bar serving some basic drinks which would make this space an awesome place to hang out after a day on the mountain or into the evening.

My partner and I stayed in the Japanese style room. It was very spacious and welcoming. It’s a great hotel to stay at if you’re snowboarding skiing as they have storage facilities. We loved the private onsen and booked it most nights. The view of the mountains from our window was particularly magical. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We were sad to leave. Thank you Hakuba Hotel Ougiya!

The owner and staff were super friendly and speak English. Their onsen is simple but natural hotspring water. It’s also tattoo friendly. The hotel is clean enough just a little old. The break fast buffet is good and all you can eat. The location is close to the Happo bus terminal. Also close to a Lawson station. Rooms were pretty warm.

It’s a bit of a long confusing walk getting to the annex if you booked a room there. You have to go down and up a series of stairs.
