What an adventure!! We mistakenly selected Nagano. We thought we were going to Kyoto!! Anyway, we found Nagano to be a cute, walkable town. We really enjoyed the area around Zenkoji Temple. The food and ice cream was delicious. There was a shuttle to the train. Most useful!!

Where the adventure started. There was no one's fault, but the walk from the train to the hotel was unexpected. We hadn't discovered the hotel shuttle before we arrived. Luckily, June, the very, very nice young stranger, walked us part of the way....and it was raining and at night!! Again, thank you, June.

The room we had was amazing - huge with fantastic 180 degree views of the city and mountains. It was actually a suite! Some nice touches such as bathrobe and plenty of towels. Good breakfast and very helpful staff. It’s relatively close to the Zenkoji Temple and shops and great option to get the free shuttle bus there and to the station if you are not up for the 20min or so walk.

The location-it’s a bit far out from the station but made up by having a free shuttle bus service there. Very few quality places to eat nearby (but plenty at the station). A few small things not included in the room such as body cream and shower cap. Unusual as even the lower grade properties provided these.

We decided to book the larger Deluxe Room with a Bathtub and were super happy with the size and the features of the room. It felt like a proper small apartment with a working space, a living room area and a very decently sized modern bath and two sinks. It was located on one of the upper floors, meaning we had a very nice view of Nagano as well.

We're nitpicking here: The hotel's own shuttle bus only ran from 08:30 or something, which was sadly a bit too late for us since we had to leave at 07:30 on our check out day. Other than that, no complaints at all.

Hotel is around 15-20 min walk from Nagano Station... there is, we found out after we arrived(!), a free shuttle bus! The accommodation was good - big room, comfortable beds etc. Nothing actually wrong but just felt a bit dated and in need of a bit of TLC!! It's very much a business hotel rather than a tourist one I would say - lots of conferences/meetings etc happening whilst we were there. Value for money was excellent and I would recommend if you are in town for a couple of days.

Our family room was quite large for Japanese standards, very clean and extremely comfortable. The room was cleaned daily, all the toiletries were provided as well as the complimentary bottles of water (one per person) which was much appreciated. The staff at the reception desk were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely choice of breakfast options. There was even a free shuttle (minibus) service to the underground station (otherwise 15-20 min walk).

Staff were friendly and helpful and booked our rooms close to our family we were also traveling with. Room was comfortable perhaps a little dated but very serviceable. The shuttle bus was handy and a game changer for the location giving you access to trains and restaurants. Other than a miscommunication on settling our bills it was a good place to stay.

Location is a little isolated in regards to walking out the door and being in the thick of things but the shuttle helps.

The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, altough the hotel is quite old. Everything was spotless.

The room was quite hot. 23-24°C is too high for sleeping. Also the blanket was too warm to, maybe ok for winter in 16°C but not in 24°C. We tried to cool the room using the AC but it really wasn't made any change. Also we opened the window but there was too much noise for sleeping.

The breakfast tastes great. It offers various dishes ranging from western breakfast to traditional Japanese with rice, soup and so on. The room is clean and big with a little table and chairs. The bed is very comfortable, neither too soft nor too hard As to sustainability there could be little changes be made. Offering a stirring rod, made of glass instead of wood, would prevent a single use. Next time we will stay longer. It’s a beautiful town.

The location, the maintenance, and the staff were all fantastic. The hotel provided a great place to explore the surrounding areas and the collaboration with the local onsen allowed for an excellent and memorable bathing experience. I especially enjoyed that aspect.

No complaints whatsoever, this hotel met all expectations and I would be happy to stay here again in the future!

Parking was convenient. Room was clean and big enough for 2 large luggage (although the floorplan of the room was a bit awkward). We loved the porridge at breakfast. Breakfast selection was not extremely extensive, but the varieties were more than adequate. There was a convenient store within walking distance (about 5 min. walk I think).

Nothing in particular.
