The location of the place was extremely easy to find no matter if you are travelling by car or train as the station is directly across from it and a lot of car rental places were close by too. It was also nice because even if you wanted ea mix between being central to transport and some of the touristy places but even if you had to walk somewhere, any route was easy and pleasant. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating when you arrive and ensure to give you all the right information about the hotel. The room and bathroom were extremely clean when arriving and the curtain was a nice blackout one too which was enjoyable on the bright overcast days. Breakfast had a nice selection too.

The whole stay in general was ideal and I would stay here again however I do wish the pillows were a little more comfier and you could also buy a breakfast ticket at a discounted price over a few days

The location is right in front of the JR Nagano Station and there's a lot of food in the surrounding area. Perfect for those who are looking to save on time when they need to take the public transportation around Nagano. Room was a little tight in space but overall it was comfortable place for us to just rest after an entire day of walking around. Loved that they had a water dispenser at every floor and coin laundry was also available so we were able to have clean clothes and didn't have to pack too much after all! Staff were extremely responsive and nice. Would definitely come back to stay again :)

the counter staff was friendly and helpful. the check-in and check-out processes were smooth. we didn't quite understand when they mentioned that the hotel is going on sustainability and the housekeepers will clean the room once every 3 nights stay, but there are cleaning cards in the room, so if we prefer to have the rooms cleaned daily, we can leave the cards on the door, but the counter staff observed our confused faces and actually told the housekeeper to just clean our rooms daily. and what was amazing was the housekeeping team! They not only cleaned up the rooms (i could tell because there were watermarks on the wall of the bathtub area), they put a towel under my amenities that i brought so that they don't get wet and they even put my socks in the plastic bag at one side. The location is also very convenient. There are two department stores next to the hotel. it's only 3 - 5minutes walk to Nagano station (local train and shinkansen). there were convenience stores, starbucks, restaurants, izakaya and pharmacy nearby, all walking distances. There is also a 24 hrs Seiyu supermarket perhaps 5-8minutes walk away.

I wouldnt say i don't like, but abit embarrassing to always go to the lobby and get the facial amenities and coffee/tea. I understand the sustainability direction, but on the customers side, just a little embarrassing.

It is very centrally located, right across the JR Nagano Station. Whether we need to take the bus or the train - we just need to cross the street. There are plenty of options for food and drinks near the hotel. Parking is also available for those with car. Facilities are available too like microwave, laundry and vending machine. Also, there's a direct elevator from the station to the building lobby of the hotel and it's so convenient if you have luggage with you. Staff are always willing to assist us - places to eat, where to buy tickets, leaving our luggage, etc.

Great location, just across from the JR Nagano Station. 3-5mins walk to hotel. A lot nice local restaurants/eatery & shopping around the hotel. Take Zenko ji exit to get to the hotel direction. Upon arrival at Nagano Station, there is office in the station to buy bus tickets or tour to see the Snow Monkey Park. Zenko ji temple is another highly recommended place to visit. There is lines of shops outside the temple too, with local foods, souvenirs and cultural items. Great local ambience to soak in. Will take minimally at least a good 1.5hrs for a fast walk around, but highly recommend to slowly explore which may take 2-3hrs at least… Take bus stop no 1 outside of Nagano’s Zenko-ji Exit. ¥150 per person, 10mins bus ride. If not, a cab of ¥1200 7mins car ride. If not, a 30mins walk to the temple from Hotel/Nagano Station…

Location is superb, and it's my 2nd stay after 8 years. I booked for a night as transit stay before heading the outskirts. The window in my initial room couldn't be tilt open, which I needed for ventilation. Requested for a change of room, and this front desk lady, Taguchi San, attending was patient in listening, and kindly assisted my room change after checking thru that the window in my next room can open, despite the lack of view which was fine with me. Thank you for the effort and service. It meant a lot for a tired guest, especially after a long few transfers of rail journey from the northern cutbacks.

The bed mattress .. too soft ..probably losing its firmness

I traveled with my parents throughout Japan for 21 days. During this time we stayed at 7 different hotels in different areas of Japan. In general, we found all Japanese hotels to an above acceptable standard, and Nagano Tokyu REI Hotel demonstrated this. The standard rooms in this hotel were smaller than some other hotels we stayed in, but the space was clean, comfortable, and overall workable. The location was within easy walking distance from the train station. The staff were friendly, helpful and easily used Google Translate to communicate where required. I would happily stay in this hotel again.

The view outside the room was boring, but we only stayed there one night so that wasn't that important.

Nagai-san was really kind and went the extra mile to make all the guests feel really comfortable! Since I arrived from Nagoya and it’s been crazy work over at the F1 circuit I was really exhausted arriving at the hotel. Nagai-san and his fellow colleagues were so patient and kind to receive me when I arrived. Room wise, I really love the corner room where you can see two different views. I highly recommend booking this room as it’s spacious and brightly lit. It really helps getting over jet lag. This hotel is also extremely convenient being just right across from the bus terminal and JR station, though one should be aware of some izakayas nearby that are tourist traps. Otherwise, a really lovely hotel to stay over for a few nights.

The location is perfect that very near the JR station and the staffs are very friendly and sweet that they help us to deal with some packages we ordered from JP and also the delivery of our suitcases. The hotel also have enough washing machines in the laundry room that is very helpful for our trips. I would choose this hotel for my future trips in Nagano.

I thought it was almost perfect comparing with the price, location and the quality. One minor thing is the cleanliness. Actually, it was great enough, I only found some dust on the top of the electric kettle. Maybe it is better to keep all things cleaner even guests seldom used some equipments.

Room was clean and decent. Location was central, very close to train station. Showers were strong and hot. What stood out (from the other hotels that we stayed in) was the friendliness of the reception staff. It really made a difference. Out of the 4 different hotels we stayed at this time, Tokyu REI was ICHIBAN! Arigatou Gozaimasu!

There isn't a carpark, so you will need to park at a public carpark - this may be cumbersome if you have a lot of luggage. Otherwise, there's nothing we didn't like. :D
