Sotetsu Fresa Inn Nagano-Zenkojiguchi

Great location, very convenient for taking local buses and shinkansen. Breakfast is simple but good to start a day with. I suppose their check-in machine doesn't take foreign credit cards, so although they would take you to the machine and want you to check in there, in the end it had to be done manually anyway. I would prefer to have the process done manually from the very beginning since the staff was next to me at the machine already, no need to waste time dealing with the machine. Please notice that the station department is only open until 8pm. Tokyu until 7pm.

The location is perfect and convenient! Just a few minutes away from the train station and within walking distance of Zenkoji temple. There were also many restaurants in the area. The bed was bigger than we expected, so it turned out really comfortable. There was also a small sofa in the room and an air purifier/ humidifier. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the hotel provided a huge range of toiletries and pretty much everything you'll need if you came with nothing!

While our room was on a high floor, the window opened to ventilators in the back of the building, and sometimes you could smell the meat grilling in the nearby restaurant(s). Not a problem if we opened the windows later at night after dinnertime though.

Location is good, very near the station and convenient stall is right below hotel. The hotel has some constraints in terms of it structure, but they have made up by provide necessary amenities. For instance, the switches are far away and it makes charging devices abit hard ( would usually prefer it near the bed) . But the hotel provided extension to solve the issues. Other then that, the hotel also provided other facilities and provided convenience to guests like microwave, wires for charging, hair straighteners and stuff. All the extra amenities provided makes it nice place to stay in.

Its proximity to the Nagano train station and food places. Although reception was on Level 5, there was no inconvenience accessing that level and subsequently our rooms. Signboard of the hotel is huge and high up so it is easy to spot it from far so that we can return to our hotel easily. We booked single rooms for each of us at a reasonable price. Bed was bigger than single size and was comfy. Thankfully there was enough space for our luggage.

Nothing actually except for a humidifier which needs to be refilled with water every day.

The staff! Tateyama Kurobe was our next stop but during our time in the region, the weather was extremely bad and unstable. Reception staff Ms Tsuyuri advised us not to send luggage through delivery service because there could have been delays in shipping and tried her best to give us the most updated news. She spoke excellent English and she was wonderful! This was my second stay at the same hotel and the Sotetsu brand is always nice. Thank you very much and will definitely book again for the convenient location and professional staff. Full range of amenities provided and everything was nice.

Great location, right next to the station, in the heart of Nagano. It was super easy to travel around and was close to restaurants, transport and shops! The hotel itself was clean and offered nice amenities, such as tea, hair products and other personal items.

The room was far smaller than we anticipated, which made it quite difficult to unpack and use our suitcases. We ended up needing to put the suitcases on the beds whenever we wanted to open them and retrieve something.

Super convenient! You can even get to the hotel without touching the ground if you leave the train station through the 2F food area of the Midori shopping centre and walk over the bridge, keeping right to stay outside until you see the doors for Fresa. Theres also a Lawson in the first floor of the building and a Donki near the station foot bridge that offers a variety of snacks and other essentials at a good price. Room was spotless and tastefully decorated with a nice light colour scheme that helped it feel bigger. High quality amenities were available for free in the lobby (such as brand name razors). Air conditioning worked well and could be set to heating or cooling independent of the rest of the building - not always an option in Japanese hotels. TV had an easily accessible HDMI port so I could plug in my iPhone (with adapter) to watch my own content. Staff were very friendly and the automated check-in/out machines are quick and convenient.

Lobby could use a fresh coat of paint, especially around the elevators.

Great location near the JR Station. Room was small but functional. Breakfast was good. Unfortunately, we are vegetarian, and many of the items had lard or pork fat. We still had enough choice, including corn soup, to have a good breakfast. The coffee was strong to get us going for the early start.

If they could lable items that are vegetarian with the universal green "V" sign. This would reduce confusion fir both staff and customers as we had to ask staff who had to ask someone else if the products had animal fats such as pork or gelatin etc.

Clean and comfortable room, the hotel offers all amenities needed. The breakfast choice was also varied giving the choice for all tastes. The room is small but it has everything needed: comfortable bed, clean bathroom, a small bath tub to relax, and even a pyjama. You can get all amenities from coffee / tea to tooth brush and even elastic for the hair and bath salt!

There is a small clock in the bedroom that makes some noise so we hid it in the bathroom to avoid hearing the noise during our sleep.

Very near to Nagano Station and plenty of restaurants nearby. Family Mart (or was it 7-11) was just downstairs. There’s a Don Quixote store ear y as well. Clean, friendly staff and the breakfast was reasonably nice and reasonably priced. They also offer luggage forwarding services at the reception, but slightly more expensive.

Rooms can be quite small. Therefore, better to find out and upgrade if necessary. We did, for a bit more money.
