This is the second time I stayed at Yuzawa Grand. It is just a short walk to Echigo Yuzawa Station and the main street where the food and ski rental shops are located. You can see the hotel from the West Exit. However, it is up on a slope, so it is better for you to call the hotel to send transport to fetch you during winter period. It has open air onsen for both men and women unlike some hotels which have to alternate between men and women. Breakfast spread is very food and that is important especially if you are staying there for more than 3 days. The room size is big and can sleep up to 4 persons.

The Japanese rooms might need a bit of enhancement as it is quite dated. But it is clean and comfortable. Between higher price point after renovation and current price point at current condition, I would definitely opt for current condition.

The location is perfect! Very convenient only a couple of minutes stroll from Echigo Yuzawa station. We stayed one night after a day trip to Gala Yuzawa ski resort. The hotel is actually way better than what we had expected, it is well kept and the dining area is certainly modern. The rooms themselves are well kept and do not feel dated/old like many older Japanese hotels. The vibe was kind of like a giant ryokan style resort. Staff was fantastic too, someone ran out to help me with luggage (despite it snowing and the luggage only being a tiny carry on sized suit case). We paid for breakfast and dinner, which was absolutely worth it. Great selection of food and very high quality. The onsen was especially fantastic too, with three different baths plus a cold one. Stayed at alot of Japanese accommodation and really rate this one quite high. It had a very cosy vibe inside.

Not much, this place has a lot going for it. Perhaps the photos the hotel has put up doesn't do it justice.

The facility was nicely renovated, they provided us with great service and the staff were all super friendly. Great service as in, amazing Onsen with sauna, breakfast and dinner buffet was so awesome with so many varieties of food selections, early check-in available if you want to ski/snowboard from early morning, they let us use the onsen even after check-out if it's until 3 pm. Also the rental shop staff was super nice, they gave us a lift to snow parks around the area during our stay. This place is located right in front of the station, overall definitely worth the price. I'm so glad I picked this hotel for my 2 nights stay with my daughter. I would love to come back again for the next snow season!!!

I think it's normal in most of these hotels in the winter season but the room tends to get pretty dry even though you keep the humidifier on.

Location is excellent, about 1 minutes walk to the train station, or to the main street, both of which have lots of restaurants. The staff are very helpful, although only 1 lady could speak reasonable English. The rooms are very spacious, and comfortable, although the bathroom is on the old side. Those who used the onsen really loved it, although you have to pay an onsen tax, even if you don't use it. Breakfast is on the expensive side, and even little kids have to pay. However, free coffee/tea and soup are provided in the lounge area. There are lot of lockers, but only 2 washers/dryers. The dryer function is not effective, even after 60 mins of drying, so I ended up hanging the clothes in the room to dry instead.

The hotel could do with some refurbishment.

Very nice room, well furnished, on very pretty grounds. We stayed in a three-person Japanese style room, which was set up with two western beds and one futon set on tatami. The hotel provided some sweets that went well with green tea (a tea set is also provided)

The property is on a hill that gets slippery in certain weather, so guests with mobility impairments or large luggage may want to reach out to ask about shuttles or other assistance. If you just have a suitcase and skis/snowboard it's not too hard to walk up. However, the location on the hill makes for a great view!

The location of the hotel is excellent: it is within 3-minute walk from the train station. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, very clean, and quiet. We are very pleasantly surprised by its meal services. The hotel has excellent breakfast and dinner: both meals offer a great variety of cuisines (both western and Japanese); the Japanese option is very good. The outdoor onsen is great. The staff are a bonus: very friendly and eager to help.

The rooms need some update work, especially the bathrooms and toilets. The hotel is situated on a small hill, which can be a challenge for the elderly or people with knee problems.

Location: it was across from Echigo-Yuzawa station and it was easy to get to the hotel. Rooms: they were spacious and the futons got made every day. Onsen: fantastic onsen facilities that made our stay more pleasant. Breakfast: good variety of Western and Japanese food. The restaurant was big and accommodated everyone. Coffee and amazake were provided free of charge which was a lovely gesture.

The pillows were a bit hard if you are not used to that style.

Great Location! hotel is located right a crossed from Yuzawa JR Station! 2 mins walk right-off the train station which is considering the town-Center. Some Staffs speaks good English which makes some errands a lot easier. THE BATH HOUSE is amazing !!! great outdoor scenery, it’s fabulous to be able to bath in hot spring after a long day of snowboarding!!! and watching fallen snowflakes while bath outdoor. The room is specious and can host family or group of 4. although the interior is a bit dated, but this hotel is totally worth every penny we spend. Post check-out: super friendly. hotel provides free large size lockers to store ur own luggage. BTW, the breakfast buffet is amazing here ;)

some furniture’s fabric r quite worn-out in our room…. hope the hotel can have small upgrade in the future.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is extremely good, just 1 minute to the JR station. There are souvenir shops and restaurants at JR station which makes our shopping and dining easy and convenient. Room is spacious. The opening time of the onsen allows us to enjoy even late at night.

The buffet style of breakfast and dinner is one of the reasons I chose for Yuzawa Grand Hotel but the serving time is a bit too short. We have our meals in rush. Room is spacious but is a bit dilapidated.

Very nice Japanese style hotel with onsen. Location is very good near to the train station (literally just across a road) with a small slope uphill to the very nice hotel. Room overlooking the nice mountain and Yuzawa. The free boots for guess to use is really a godsend to venture in snow during winter
