My friends and I chose this hotel for our visit to Universal Studios Japan. It was a good location, an easy walk to a train station. Only 30 minutes from the park, in an area close to Osaka nightlife. The room was clean, and suited 4 guests very well. Check in was easy and simple. The staff spoke customer service English well, although my group can speak some Japanese this was appreciated.

The neighbourhood was described to me as 'unsafe' and I can understand why. My group of young female travellers did see that the streets were dirty and the area seemed rougher. However we never felt unsafe or in any danger. Many cities have central areas that are very 'lived in' and the value for money was high, so we did not see this as a problem. However less confident travellers may want a warning about the street conditions in the neighbourhood.

We booked this for a group of 4, and the value for money is the first reason why we chose this hotel. It’s comfortable and of a pretty decent size. The location is also a stone's throw away from one of the train stations going to Namba, which is really convenient. Speaking of the location, I know many of you are curious about the "safety" issues mentioned in a lot of reviews here. Let’s put things into perspective. I can understand why some people may find it looks "unsafe" because there are some homeless people around the area; however, it always depends on what you consider unsafe. My friends and I come from a country where unsafe means you are really in danger, like crimes and those kinds of stuff, but I am telling you, this area isn’t like that. We never felt unsafe, and there was no reason for us to feel that when we were there. My advice is if homeless people or just a regular residential area will make you feel uncomfortable, then don’t book it. But if you’re okay with staying in an area with real residential life, then give this place a chance.

There is only one pillow for each bed which we think is common in hotels in Japan because we had the same experience in Tokyo.

The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly and spoke a good level of English. We arrived a little early but they were accommodating with allowing us to leave our bags until 3pm check-in. The room and bathroom also very spacious and spotlessly clean, and the beds were comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your trip to Osaka!

The area of the city in which this hotel is located is not the nicest or cleanest, but it is only a short walk from a metro station on one of the main lines for accessing tourist attractions and more central areas.

The location. It’s next to the station and there are people sleeping outside all around the hotel

-The self check-in and checkout system -Available coin laundry and dryer on-site -One train ride away from Nanba, Dotombori and Shinsaibaishi -just 1 transfer to get to and from airport

-We stayed with them for 6 days. But since we were not instructed how to throw out our trash, all of them piled up until our last day. -The neighborhood may not be preferable for families, or solo travellers. But it was still safe to go around at night.

This hotel met all our expectations and there were a lot of local gems near by which made the stay better. What we didn't know of was the amount of homeless and abandoned warehouse buildings nearby which made stepping out of the hotel feel very contrasting. However, the area still feels safe and friendly as most keep to themselves.

... Something that needs to be mentioned is the closeness to the train stations - great accessibility but train sounds are inevitable.

Room was good size/ layout for our group of four. Bunk beds were very comfortable. Had our own shower and toilet which was good. Easily accessible by train and lots of convince stores near by which was good as we arrived late and needed food quickly. Late checkin was easy as well.

Wouldn’t want the 4 bed room if I was sharing with strangers as could get cramped especially with the bathroom, but definitely good for if you were with friends.

Good place to stay overall. Peaceful area. Bed was comfortable. The washing area was useful. Nice toilet.

Takes about 20-30 minutes walk to the nearest train station. Since the area is near the train tracks, the trains pass every now and then near the location, and that might be disturbing to some guests who are sensitive with noise. Pillows need improvement, though, very light and need at least 2 per person.

I loved the staff. They are very helpful. I also loved the location, very near the train stations. There are also places to eat near the hotel. The hotel rate is very affordable, it's really value for money.

Room was very clean and tidy. Spacious enough for 4 adults. Ample plug points in the room. There is also a laundry area on the ground floor.

The location is fine during the daytime, but when we came back to the place after dinner, there were a few drunks on the street leading up to the hotel. While they did not disturb us, it is advisable to not go out alone after dark.
