Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya-jingumae

I loved my stay at Dormy. I'd go to say, it was the best experience I had for my entire trip, even when comparing the 5 star hotels. Here is why... Great location, right in between Shibuya and Harajuku/Omotesando. (Maybe a little long with luggage to walk from station but doable or cheap taxi ride) I loved the communal hot bath/onsen, sauna and cold plunge. Especially the sauna! I looked forward to it at the end of everyday. The complimentary ice-cream and ice-blocks for after the hot bath. The complimentary freshly made hot noodles at night. Most people ate them in the lobby restaurant wearing their hotel supplied pyjamas. The free washing machines. Staff were really nice. Room was spacious in comparison to other Tokyo 3 star hotel rooms. Bed comfy! I booked in advance and got a great rate! I tried to book again for the end of my Japan trip but prices had tripled. If you book in advance and get a good rate, this is an excellent deal and great hotel! Aircon was great especially given it was a Tokyo heatwave.

I loved the fact that it was near a very prominent part of the city without it being a super noisy stay. The price was great and overall would recommend it to others who either travel alone or with a group (and want to save money).

I actually liked it but if you want a room that you can chill in and like hang with friends in the Dormy Inn (from my experience) may not be for you. It can seem tiny according to Westerners standards but personally I like it. I loved the fact that it was compact and really only had the essentials. But some people may not like that but hey we all like different things I guess 🤷‍♂️

Great location in between Shibuya and Harajuku which made exploring Tokyo so easy. Staff were friendly although there was some confusion when we had enquired about shipping our luggage to our next hotel. This wasn't an issue though and I think was down to language barriers and misunderstanding - nothing to complain about. The hotel is well equipped and was a great base for somewhere to sleep and shower during a very busy stay in Tokyo. We didn't take advantage of the free ramen or the onsen but though these were great features.

The room was a little worn in some areas, but this didn't impact our stay, just didn't feel very "premium".

Just about a 10-15 minute walk from Shibuya Station. Centrally located in Shibuya and super close to Shibuya Scramble and other stores. Convenience store down the road. Harajuku station is also nearby. To me, it was the perfect location to get around. Room was clean and had all amenities. Hot Spring bath was amazing and I love that they offered ice cream after. For a solo traveler, definitely recommend.

Its a bit hidden behind an alleyway and park but didn't take away much from hotel. If you want to ship luggage, make sure its 2 days prior, they wont do a one day.

Really shines through the multiple included amenities with the great breakfast, onsen, free yogurt drinks and ice creams, and soba at night. The breakfast was really good for me as they had multiple different kinds of fried meats such as fried shrimp along with the hearty beef stew was delicious. Snow carrot smoothie was great too. Onsen was nice not a ton of people always go to it at the same time since it's opened pretty much all evening and at night really only closes at the morning and noon time. Their soaps felt really silky along with the treats included afterwards. Good spot being right in Shibuya. Close to many restaurants and shopping options in the area. Decent size rooms though not spacious it's good considering Tokyo. Pretty relaxed hotel it seems as most people were wearing the included hotel room clothing around it.

While placement being in Shibuya was good. The actual immediate area of the hotel is right next to the Yamato Transport Company and others as it's a bit in the back alley road from the main road, so there is a bit of things going on. There's also no sidewalks for that small stretch to the main road, not really a big deal since not a ton of traffic there. Also not very scenic since it's next to the businesses and rail tracks though you don't hear much at night of either. Couldn't figure out the tv options for housekeeping cleaning as remote inputs didn't seem to register on the tv.

Location is between Shibuya and Harajuku stations, was an awesome location to stay, lots of great options for different areas, vibes and food a 10-15 minute walk, great for transport links. Staff were super lovely and helpful, rooms were fine, had everything I needed. Pro tip, if you find the pillows uncomfortable just ask at the front desk for different ones. As a solo female traveler I also found this to be a great option, no problems.

Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya-jingumae is one of the best hotels that I have ever experienced. If I travel back to Tokyo, this hotel will definitely be my choice. First, the location of the hotel is one of its key advantages. It is located nearby Shibuya station (just about 6 - 8 minutes walk). Easy for you to reach from both Haneda or Narita international airport. I must note that Shibuya station is one of the most famous destinations and a "must-visit" if you visit Tokyo. Nearby the hotel and close to the Shibuya Station, you can find many restaurants with typical Japanese food. Further, from the hotel you can easily walk to nearby bus/train stations to visit other places. Second, the staff here is amazing. They are very friendly, polite, and helpful. I traveled for work and faced with some unexpected problems. However, the hotel staff helped my to deal with the problems effectively. I highly appreciate their help to address my problems. Last but not least, there is a big plus in the hotel's facility. In Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya-jingumae, you can enjoy FREE Sauna in the public bath (Open hours: 3 p.m to 10 a.m; Sauna closed during 1 a.m - 5 a.m). Another recommendation is to try the Yonaki Soba from the hotel's restaurant. It would not disappoint you. One might say the size of the room (15 m2) is too small. However, I think small, but cozy. The room is equipped with a super comfortable bed which is all you need after a busy day walking around, seeing places, and trying good food.

There is a construction next to the hotel, however, it would be ended soon in March 2023. Nevertheless, the room is well-isolated, so you will not hear any noise in your room. Bottom line, it will not be a problem when you experience the Dormy Inn Premium Shibuya-jingumae!

Location was great - proximal to Shibuya station (and the Narita express train) and the Harajuku area; not far from Shinjuku. The room was perfect for our unfussy needs: it was clean, large enough, the window could open a few inches, vanity/bathroom/shower were totally reasonable and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was very elaborate (more so than other Dormy Inns that we stayed) and included japanese and western options. The evening ramen service was absolutely delightful and so appreciated. Free drinks/yakult and popsicles at the spa level were also appreciated. They managed our luggage forwarding just fine.

N/A - we will happily stay at Dormy Inns next time we are in Japan.

the onsen inside dormy inn was amazing and i loved going to it everyday!! you have to check it out! the bath products in the bathroom are also extremely high quality and smelt great. there's also washing machines on site (although slow) that were a nice touch. the check in process was easy and they let me drop my bags off before check in time. room size was small but that's expected for tokyo. close to both shibuya station and harajuku stations (10 min walk to both) and a bunch of shopping, restaurants and more in the area outside your door.

the bed and pillows were really uncomfortable and gave me back pain, the room was small, room service never came by, the lighting in the room wasn't great. also if you're a woman traveling alone, it's important to note it's off the main street but a 1-2 min walk down a quiet road which felt concerning at moments late at night when going back to the hotel (even though Tokyo is safe, I got catcalled leaving the hotel one night)
