It's a comfortable hostel. Close to both Ikebukuro station and Otsuka station. The bed was okay to sleep on, and at least in the women's only dorm there were place to store large luggage and hang clothes. The staff was kind and helpful.

Had to carry the luggage to the 3rd floor as there were no elevators. I knew this before booking, but considered the cost and distance to the station as well, and found this to be acceptable.

Everything except the check-in.

Check-in was not very smooth. I didn't receive any check-in details in advance, and there was no staff around. I arrived around evening time, and the temperature was low and freezing.. been waited and tried to contact the staff for more than 20mins until the staff from the bar (not even hostel staff) helped us to get in the hostel. She is helpful and kind. While waiting for the response from hostel, she even invited us to wait in the bar. Much appreciated for her help.

The staff were very friendly and helped me out a lot with information and places to eat. Exceptionally clean and in a fantastic central location! I have life long memories from this place 🙂

Information of how to find a elevator/lift exit from the JR line & what bus no can be taken after get out from the lift. This is because most of the time traveler will carry heavy luggage.

This hotel is located between two stations of Yamanote Line so it will take a few time to go to train station, also hotel is near to railway and the 1st floor is a bar, then in the night maybe generate noise.

The owner is kind and responsible.

Decent location and good price! The staff was kind and understanding when I had to hand over the check in form and left the pen upstairs. the area was clean, and the bed was comfortable for the price as well

I think just the 15 minute walk is draining if you have luggage as heavy as mine which was about 20kg, and the trip up the stairs with no help was a strain. I was also out late at night due to being out for a show, check in procedures do start at 3pm onwards (though you can unlock the doors and leave your bags around before heading out) you have to hand in the paper sheet for check in from 5pm-11pm which was a really narrow time window for myself and gave me a bit of nerves on how early to return to the hostel. There was also only one toilet on my floor? which might be worrying but there were only a few people staying with me at the time so it wasn't too much of a bother

I didn't meet any staff throughout my stay but they always responded to my questions on the chat promptly and were detailed in their self-check-in instructions. The space was sufficient and I appreciated the shelves and lockers for extra baggage storage and hanging up clothes.

There were 2 shower rooms on the third floor (female-only dorm) but one was kept locked the whole time so the guests had to share the one shower. It was fortunate that I did not have to wait a long time. I also thought there was a lack of ventilation within the bunk beds (I was in the bottom bunk) and it took very long for the room's air-conditioning to cool the space.

There were problems with the bed no. and floor info given by the owner. Bar on the 1st floor is closed during my stay so I was not able seek immediate help from anyone. Anyway the owner still help me managed to get right info so it’s still pleasant.
