We stayed 11 nights at Hotel Niwa. Liked the gardens, the breakfast buffet, the staff, comfortable beds, nice bathroom and products, 3rd floor zen garden, laundry, massage chairs. AC good. Close to tons of restaurants and shops. 5 min away from Suidobashi Station. Very close to Tokyo Dome and LaQua Spa complex which has lots of restaurants and shops including a very nice grocery store, a lovely food hall, Muji, 2 Starbucks, an amusement park and lots more. We went many times to Boulange for breakfast, a nice bakery.

Dryer didn’t really work. Room very small for 3 people, but we knew that going in. No room for suitcases. Breakfast expensive but really good.

The English breakfast is good and is available up until 10 am. I wish it could be longer and can be extended to 11 am.

The Japanese breakfast is good, but it is a disappointment as it is available on a first come first basis. It started at 7 am and I did not get to the breakfast as it was already sold out at 8:15 am. Again it should be made all morning long until 11 am or otherwise, it should not be claimed as a boutique hotel which offers very good and commendable English and Japanese breakfast.

Location

the reception was completely impersonal, checking in via a terminal while 5 people are doing nothing behind the counter is unacceptable at this level

Ok. Good location. Good gym. Good massage chairs. No problem. Good coffee and tea makers in room. Alas, I notice in the comments that the usual culprits, people from Singapore, are complaining about this and that. Come on! Stop being misers. If you want FIVE-STAR quality pay for it!

The hotel was beautiful and the massage chairs and gardens were great. Black out blinds and a baby cost were great and the bed was huge and comfortable. The room was nice.

I feel the price was very high for the size of room and the location was not easy to get to. The staff were friendly but they seemed to find it easier to say something wasn’t possible rather than help. I asked for a bowl so I could give my 1 year old some cereal and they said not possible but then I asked the restaurant and they gave me one no problem. There was dust on the top of some furniture which should be cleaned so the room feels completely clean.

I think it's very important to remember the location. The hotel is situated in the heart of Tokyo, and is literally a few minutes walk from one of the train stations that can provide links to just about all other parts of Tokyo. And that comes at a cost. Tokyo is a fairly expensive city and there's a premium upon space within the City. The room that I booked for my daughter wasn't too bad (I upgraded her room after I became a bit worried about the size of the room), but this was in contrast to the room that my partner and I had booked for ourselves. I can't fault the hotel, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful, but the room we stayed in was tiny. There was space for our double bed and not a lot else. We did thankfully have a mini fridge which was good, and they clearly tried to maximise the space available in the room, but there was no getting away from the fact that it was a very small room. Having said all of that, what almost makes up for this are the facilities in the hotel. There's a small gym with Cardio equipment, a relaxation room with massage chairs, another room where you can go to sit and where the staff are available at certain times of the day to offer you a cup of tea. And where they really excel is that there are four separate areas, where you can go and sit outside and just have an opportunity to get some fresh air. Having travelled about quite a lot recently, I can't state enough how nice it is to have a place to stay where there's an outside space, and in the case of Hotel Niwa they have four very distinctive outside locations. Add to this a laundry room to wash and dry your clothes, as well as a microwave oven, and you can't help but appreciate the little extras that they have on hand.

The room sizes and price, but there's not much that can be done about that.

The staff was phenomenal and made the experience excellent- Example; 1. Flexibility -The manager offered to take back unused meal voucher funds, even though the voucher stated "no refunds." 2. Courtesy: One of the hosts (Hostess) accommodated my niece and ensured when she booked a stay, she was situated adjacent to us; she found out we were related, and she ran after us to make sure we were okay with this. 3. Warmth: Same as above, as we were leaving-she came out to make sure we were getting in the right cab, carried our heavy luggage to the car, and hugged my wife to say goodbye and to come back (who does that?)

As with most Tokyo accommodations -rooms were small, and the Exercise area was small and limited (lol, bring your weights! As some reviewers said (but then, who exercises with weights when walking and hauling things on Tokyo subways?)

It’s an oasis in the middle of Chiyoda City. So much thoughts are put into making it a wonderful retreat after spending a whole day touring Tokyo. The rooms are small and mighty. They have a good coffee maker and a electric kettle and a green tea set. The coffee pods are replenished every time we use them. They also provided all the toiletries you could possible need and my family loves them so much.

Wish the washer dryer are bigger capacity because it takes a long time for me to dry clothes for my family and there is always a long line of people waiting to use the two available.

The location was quiet but convenient with Suidobashi Station nearby. The staff were polite and super friendly as well, went above and beyond - helped with early check-in, queries about luggage courier and were efficient. The room was stylish, tastefully decorate like a traditional Japanese room and not too small compared with other standard rooms. Brilliant amenities in the room, little wardrobe, clothing spray, very clean kettle, teas/coffees and a fridge that actually had enough coolness to cool things! Bathroom was stocked with everything you need, even had nice bath salts for the bath tub. Everything was super quiet and you couldn’t hear neighbours or anything! Really wonderful sleep!

Nothing! In fact, moving to a 4 star hotel in Asakusa that had less that Niwa Hotel made me quite regretful!

We enjoyed how friendly the staff was, and were able to communicate in English. We liked how the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable especially the pillows. We loved how serene it is to look at the Japanese Garden around different areas of the Hotel. Buffet breakfast was nice, though would loved to have some flexibility with the menu. We loved how the Hotel tried to make our New Year celebration (1st of January) special for foreigners.

We did not like how the massage chair was almost always occupied and was hard to access. We would have loved to enjoy a Japanese Buffet Breakfast.
