Location is excellent, just a short walk to rail/metro, Ueno park (park, lake, cherry blossom, museums, zoo) and main shopping area. Also just 20min walk to Akihabra. And yet amazingly quiet, you'd never know you were right in the heart of the city, night time was practically silent. Note that you are very much renting a room - don't expect much in the way of hotel-like services, so rooms are not cleaned during your stay, you'll need to empty bins yourself, there is no restaurant, mini-bar, or anything you might think when you think "hotel". So if you are looking for that kind of stuff, this hotel isn't for you, but it's priced accordingly IMO. Room itself is pretty small for 4 people and it's 2 small-ish double beds so our kids had to share a bed, but it's Tokyo, so to be expected. Facilities within it are very good, including microwave, washing machine, kettle, fridge freezer, mugs/glasses/plates and sink so good for young families though note there's not a lot of space for storage if you have a lot of luggage. A few larger rooms are available, the comments here relate to the standard room we stayed in, so look at those larger rooms if you want more space. Shower facilities are also good. The room was spotlessly clean when we arrived. If you're an introvert like us then this hotel is great as you really are left to your own devices and no-one bothers you at all (for example, no need to worry about when the cleaner is coming or mini-bar folks will turn up, no need to be in a big crowd at breakfast, and so on), but staff were easily reachable and friendly.

Overall the hotel met our needs and the positives vastly outweigh the minor niggles. One thing I'd consider is how long you are staying for. For a short stay the fact that the rooms is not cleaned is not an issue, but with a family of four staying for 12 days, the bedding got pretty grubby esp. when we ended up having a few meals in the room (finding a place to eat-in at the weekends was difficult as Tokyo is crazy busy at those times). That's not a deal breaker but worth noting. There were also some maintenance issues, for example the fridge freezer was not working in our room. Overall though if the do-it-yourself nature of the place works for you, then I'd recommend staying here as the location is excellent, in-room facilities are great and it's wonderfully quiet.

The plave is bit tidy but for Japan it is expected I guess. It took a day for our family to settle and adjust the space but the overall facility was great. The best attraction is location...extremely close to Ueno station with great connectivity. Plenty of restaurants (including Veg) nearby and great shopping locations including a great market in walkable distance. Had a kitchen, microwave, washing machine and some utensils - Very convenient.

Cant think of any...a bit more space would be great but knowing Japan, it was expected. A softer pillowes would have been great as well.

The room size is extraordinarily huge for Japan standards and we love the privacy of only having 2 rooms per floor. We also love the no frills of check-in process, everything was clean and clear cut. There were 2 convenience stores just downstairs so extremely convenient for getting supper or late night beers.

Would be better if they can provide option of breakfast at downstairs cafe. Also if they could do eco-housekeeping (no changing of sheets or cleaning - just changing towels & replenish water bottles on a daily basis), then this hotel would be PERFECT.

Great location, close to the metro, restaurants, 7/11 and grocery stores. Staff was very considerate and helpful. I had many questions and they answered them all patiently. Also I was ill on the day of check out and they let me extend our time so I could rest a bit longer, and even checked in on me to make sure I was ok, so I was very greatful for that.

I wish the beds were a bit wider, I shared my bed throughout the trip and had no issue but in this hotel the fit was a bit too small. However it was manageable.

Very conveniently located near the JR station, Tokyo metro and Keisei-Ueno stations, convenient stores, restaurants, shopping and Ueno Park. Included a washing machine, kitchenette and good sized fridge/freezer.

There was no room service (ie room does not get cleaned until you check out), the room was not prepared for the correct number of guests despite the reservation clearly indicating how many people were staying so I had to ask for more towels. The beds were closer in size to 2 twins vs 2 double beds. Check out date was misinterpreted by cleaning staff. Reception staffing presence unknown as there is no-one to greet you at reception (you must ring the bell). Luggage storage is not secured (luggage is just left in the front lobby unlocked).

The staff is really helpful and care about us.. location is perfect, about 300 mtr from subway ,ueno station and sky liner station to Narita. Also there are a lot of restaurants and some mini markets nearby the hotel.

Sometimes near closing time of the restaurants, there are some people talking a bit loud. But it is just until around 10.30 pm. And if the matrress and pillows could be changed to new one, it will make this property's value higher..

The room is spacious with an open plan living area for self catering. It includes all the essential appliances such as air con, washing machine, air drying for clothes, microwave, cooker and fridge to maximise your stay. The location is very close to Keisei Ueno station so there is a direct train from the airport. It is also very close to the infamous Ameyokocho street. It is a short 7min walk to Ueno station so you plan your trip around it

It doesn't do house keeping daily but maybe on request. So you have to take out your own trash and request clean towels from reception.

Convenient location close to Ueno Train station and walking streets of Ueno. Please look for the central exit of Ueno Station. Love the room which comes with basic kitchen appliances and slightly larger than a typical Japanese hotel room. Shower and toilet are separate which is Convenient. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner by DHC provided as well as other basic amenities. Do note that housekeeping is not daily and you will have to bring the towel to the reception to exchange for new ones. Overall we find the room feels like a home rather than a commercial hotel. Staff was very responsive, friendly and helpful. Had a very wonderful stay here and will stay here again when we visit.

Newly hotel in good location, near Ueno station, Ameyokocho, Ueno Park, 7-11 very close to hotel not so far from Keisei station (5mins), they provide complete kitchen stuff, washing machine in room and staff are very helpful. Good choice for family stay, we stay 4people in family room. It's very good they separate bathroom and restroom. We will come back again. Thank you 😊

I understand their cleaning service like hotel as well. We stay 5 days, go out early morning and come back late night. Too tired to make room cleaning it would be perfect if the cleaning service provide every 2-3 days of stay.

The hotel is a short distance walk to Ueno Station, very convenient. The room and 3 beds is just nice for my family. Some plannings are needed for the luggage placement and arrangement, coz none of the luggage can be left opened due to space constraint. The bathroom is great, my kids love it.

The small kitchen is redundant, coz we did not cook.
