Hotel Villa Fontaine Tokyo-Tamachi

The hotel is rather close to Tamachi station (5-7mins by foot) and has many restaurants and shops around the station. The station is also pretty quiet and not so crowded as Tokyo or Shinagawa. The hotel sits on top of an office building, upper 4-5 floors and has a nice inner courtyard. The hotel has no Bar or Restaurant but offers a free happy hour with Wine, Sake and some Liquors which is a nice feature. It is served in the lobby in the first floor. The room itself was a bit bigger than a normal japanese hotel room. We had a full Queen size bed, Big TV with Netflix, Prime Video, Disney. Our window had direct views of the Fuji!

Space to put your clothes is rather sparse, also to put away your suitcases, especially if you stay 3 weeks like us. But that is standard for Japan, unless you want to pay double.

Great location- less than 10 min walk to station with choice of various different lines, lots of shops and restaurants in the area. Staff were generally very helpful, very nice breakfast, coin easy to use coin operated launderette on site. Really nice touch with a 'happy hour' from 5-7 every night with free drinks and snacks. The lounge area was nice to sit in. The bedrooms were all on the 14th- 17th floors above offices giving nice views and not too much noise from the train lines or roads. Rooms are an ok size for Tokyo with a desk and a sofa but zero storage space- 6 hangers and not a drawer in sight. Best designed for a stay of a couple of nights but we worked around that as we were there for 9 nights. Kettle in room, free water bottles every day, amenities available from reception.

Front desk staff very helpful at check-in/check-out. After leaving our luggage with the staff in the morning waiting for the afternoon check-in, we were pleasantly surprised they had already delivered our luggage to our room when we were able to check-in. The free Happy Hour from 5-7 PM was a nice surprise and the paid breakfast buffet looked very good although we did not take advantage. Both held in a large lobby area, a very welcome spot to relax. Our room was compact as was expected but the amenities were very nice: a refrigerator, electric kettle for coffee & tea, a smart tv (able to log in to Netflix and YouTube), and complimentary bottled water. I love the location near Tamachi and Mita stations. We even had a nice view of Mt. Fuji,

The possibility for an early check-in since the flight from LA arrives at dawn. Other than that, really nothing to improve on.

The staff were by the far the best! Every single staff member we came in contact with were accomodating, helpful and very friendly. Every request was met with a smile and the staff would go out of their way to ensure that our needs were met. The twin room was very spacious and the view was stunning (we could see Mt Fuji from our room)! You could watch YouTube and Netflix on the big TV and the bathroom was great. The complimentary happy hour was a bonus and the buffet breakfast, though we only had it once during our stay was good with many western and Japanese options.

Our room was very dusty and the beds were quite hard so sleep was a little rough.

Staff were all super friendly and I had no problem communicating in english. Room looked new and spacious (in Tokyo standards). It had a full-size writing desk and closet, in addition to space to lay my check-in luggage flat. Room was pretty quiet despite close vicinity to train tracks. A hearty full breakfast was served from 6:30 to 9:30am (lots of options for vegetarians like me). Location is very convenient - Lawson is within 2 minutes walk and the Tamachi station (Yamanote line) is about 7-8 minutes away. I didn't have time to enjoy the free happy hour (5-7pm) but it's such a nice perk to have. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay.

No driveway in front of the hotel entrance, so you may have to drag your suitcases for about 50m from the sidewalk. It might have made more sense to go in and borrow a luggage cart first. I found the hotel very clean overall but unfortunately I smelled mildew from the shower curtain in my room when I first arrived (the smell was gone after cleaning). This hotel does not offer dining services - vending machines are cash-only.

I booked this place last minute, and they were able to accommodate me easily. I arrived and was surprised to find that the hotel does a free happy hour in the lobby. The room was warm and comfortable. I like the area where the hotel is located, it is lively and interesting. The hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. There was a free happy hour included in the price. I purchased breakfast because it wasn't included, it was very good. The building is very secure and you need a key card to access the elevators. It appeared that there were several business men staying there. They offered all the essentials, like pajamas, tooth brushes, hair brushes, wash clothes in the lobby and soap/shampoos in the room. The rooms are smaller than I am used to but there was plenty of space. The TV had streaming capabilities. Also, you could see Mt. Fiji from the stairwell on a clear day!

Nothing

Location was excellent since it is close to a train and subway station, shopping mall with grocery, a few convenience stores, restaurants, and within 30 minute public transport/drive to Haneda Airport and popular tourist destinations. Style of bathroom is also great since shower is not combined with a bathtub. I love the unlimited complimentary toiletries, teas, coffees, etc. I also love the tv since it can connect to netflix.

King size bed was great but was hard and pillows are small. Found a hair strand in one of the supposedly fresh towels.

The room was great! This hotel has the top 4 floors of a 17-floor building, so no matter where you stay the views are breathtaking! While the rooms are fairly small, they are quite big for Tokyo standards, especially at this price. The staff was great, always very helpful.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, but on our second stay ( we stayed back in the hotel after staying in Kyoto for a week) we requested extra pillows, and that made it a bit more comfy.

Location was only a few minutes walk from the Tamachi train station which was handy and there is a little food area by the train station which was handy. We had a lovely dinner there one night. Room was relatively spacious - we had a corner room. Onsite laundry was handy. It's good to understand that this is in a business/residential area - Shibuya is a few train stops away so if you want to be in amongst all the action this might not suit. We enjoyed the slower pace of this location.

It was hard to find anywhere for suitcases.
