August 2024

I stayed for 15 days for a business/education trip. I prefered a larger room. I was a bit worried about the area but it was in total a very good stay. My room was on 7th floor towards the main street. My room was good enough for 1 person as I stayed a long time. I do not think 2 person would be confortable for such a long time. There is no closet, but some hangers, which were fine. And the small kitchen was good to heat something and eat, or drink while working at my table by the window, watching the street. With all the hustle and bustle just round the corner, it is a clean and relatively quite part of Shinjuku. The underground exit of 2 different stops are very close to the hotel The staff is friendly and helpful Breakfast was very Japanese. There are very few western style items, but I've stayed in many 5 star hotels in Japan and could not find one single thing to eat. Here at least there was scrambled eggs, normal bread, Fresh juices and salad. (Especially the berry juice had been my favorate) Very fast and convenient check in and check out. The washing machine also has been very useful. The room is clean, but the cleaning service is provided one every 5 days. Only towels and wastes are changed daily. The hotel is very close to some conveience stores and restaurants The pharmacy just downstairs makes a 10% discount for hotel guests. Let them know you are the hotel guest and show your room card. The air condition worked perfectly well (ıt was nearly 40 degrees with 80%+ humidity)

I was on the 7th floor and some siren voices came during the night. Just in front of the hotel, there are traffic lights and strangely, the ambulance and fire vehicles stop at the traffic light, with sirens on and also shouting out from the speaker. I am not bothered a lot, only sometimes it lasted so long that I thought the hurricane is coming or an earthquake is on the way. It would be nice to have some cheese and olives for breakfast (although I brought some from my home country with me)

The room and bathroom were both exceptionally clean and comfortable. While the room was small, we knew this when booking and never felt crammed into the space. The toilet/bathroom were very clean and the daily (pre 11am) option for fresh towels was great. Location was safe and convenient - a 20 second walk to the nearest Lawson, lots of train station entrances nearby and a 10-15 min walk from all the Shinjuku shops and restaurants. The staff were very polite and helpful, and arranged for our luggage to be sent to our next accomodation in Kyoto. Would definitely stay here again and we are sad to leave!

The pillows could have been more comfortable. We didn’t bother asking for new pillows but if we stayed longer than a week we may have.

Staff were amazing and went above and beyond to find us a reservation for NYE. It was our favourite meal in Tokyo. So please ask locals for your meals!

We thought we were too far from the action until we discovered Golden Gai was a few minutes walk behind the hotel.

Tokyo is such a spread out city, we wanted to stay in a place that would put us close to a good amount of areas by foot, but also close to the major train stations for hopping about by subway. We're so happy we decided on Tokyu Stay Eastside, which ticked off both of those boxes, but was also an incredible value for the five nights we were there. Yes, Tokyo hotel rooms are all on the smaller side, but this was fine given the thoughtfulness of the design of the room and the hotel. We had comfortable bedding, a mini fridge, kettle, and microwave(!), as well as an in-room washer/dryer (incl. washing detergent) which was amazing for freshening up our clothes before we moved on to the next city. Bathroom and water pressure was also great, and we loved the thoughtful extras that included fabric spray and take-as-you-need toiletries that included combs, toothbrushes, and hair ties :) Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a central and comfortable base for exploring Tokyo.

Nothing, this worked really well for us!

The twin room was great size compared to a double which was tiny and didn’t even have space to open the suitcase. The twin had a decent kitchenette whereas the double didn’t & only had tea/coffee making facilities. Friendly staff who let us leave our luggage prior to check-in and also arranged to forward the suitcases to our next hotel (at a cost of course). Location worked for us as we didn’t want to be too central, but close to underground station and a short walk to the main station. Great washer & dryers in each room. They provide washing liquid. Have additional items -toiletries & tea bags available at reception. Windows can be opened slightly for fresh air which was great to air the room. Beds were comfortable.

You do hear sirens, but not too much.

Largest hotel room I had during my trip to Japan. In-room amenities were not glamorous but awesome, including our own microwave (for those konbini runs) and in room washer and dryer (!). TVs had Netflix, which also turned out to be a rare and unique bonus for hotels. Location was very convenient in a very lively part of town. Only a 5 minute walk to a smaller train station, and about a 15 minute walk to the popular Yamanote Line. Staff was friendly.

I had read some mixed things about the area of town, Kabukicho. If you google it, you might see why. I never once felt unsafe in and around the hotel, and it is definately more Kabukicho-adjacent than in the heart of darkness. I think if you have experience in large cities, there will be nothing you will find overly concerning. But if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is probably not it.

Very functional location and nice room. Short walk to Shinjuku Station. Clean room with nice amenities in the hotel. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Pick your route carefully from the hotel to Shinjuku station. Short cuts will take you down some of the bar streets with some questionable characters offering (red light) type opportunities. Stay on main streets and it's the same time and no issues. Really fun area at night though and close to many restaurants and bars.

Location is very near metro and train station! All within 8-15mins of walk. There’s washer and dryer in the room which works perfectly for us! Service is excellent here! The rooms are comfortable, just that they do not clean the rooms throughout your stay. If you want them to clean need to pay extra. We are ok with that since we stayed for 4nights only. Clean towels and clearing of rubbish are done everyday. I would say this is one of my favourite hotel chains in Japan!

We didn’t realise there’s a lane of red light district in one of the back alley but it didn’t bother as since we don’t walk by the back.

Great location - an easy walk from Shinjuku station but also has a subway stop metres away. So close to the bright lights near the station and the bars of Golden Gai but away from the full on craziness. Convenience stores outside door. Welcoming staff with good English. Serene decor in rooms. Excellent value.

Suited our needs perfectly. No negative feedback.

kitchen and a washing machine. spacious and new facilities. The members of staffs are helpful and there was no issue in their language skills (Japanese)

cleanliness. they don’t cleans if you don’t stay over seven nights. it results dusty rooms. my daughter and I were coughing due to dusts. also when we saw the black long hair that doesn’t belong to our family members it’s disgusting. You can borrow a vacuum cleaner at the free of charge.
