Probably the best hostel of this type that I've been to. Didn't have to suffer cold or draft. Bathroom/shower and common area are spacious. Staff was nice and there was even free breakfast, which is beyond what I could've asked for. The location is ridiculously good with how fast you can get to all the places that matter.

Their laundry machines work by some app that you have to install (unless you just put in coins anyway). I think they should just remove the tapes and deal with the fact that coins are more convenient and what most guests are used to.

The hostel is located in the Kagurazaka area with many interesting shops and lots of dining options as well as a couple of train stations within walking distance. Staff was super friendly and helpful! Common areas are cleaned regularly and overall the place is very clean. Guests have the option to also hang out at or work from the cafe on the first floor. The free breakfast was a nice and delicious bonus 😊

Depending on which bed you are assigned, there is not really much space for your luggage and depending on who else is staying at the same time the dorms can therefore be quite packed with suitcases etc.

UNPLAN Kagurzaka is well located, near the cultural city center, as a walking person I enjoyed quick morning strolls (from the attractions I visited, everything was 30 minutes away), plus the neighboring area is full of local shops where food and other supplies can be easily found. The staff is super friendly and has got a competent level of English. The city is generally down starting 5 pm, the bar and lounge at the hostel is open later, so it is always comfortable to find fresh food after long touristic places. The city of Tokyo holds strict regulations concerning smoking, the hostel doesn't offer facilities (for good), however, there's some spots nearby where tobacco can be either accesible and enjoyable. Facilities are always clean, renew and comfortable.

I don't know if it's a Japanese thing, but there isn't lockers to store your luggage. I wasn't stolen or anything, but for a control freak like me, it might be a bit challenging to let my suitcases just aside of the people in my shared room. Breakfast wasn't cool, but believe me, I barely found good food during the morning on this side of the island. Bread and yogurt are offered, I would definitely open my menu with some more "occidental" options, it is super nice to have a light breakfast but what place would be better for a foreigner to feel a bit more like home like the own staying premises? Nothing bad about it (realistically speaking), just my opinion.

Pod-style beds in the dorm were comfortable, spacious enough to sit up, and offered privacy as they have solid walls with curtains on the ends. Electric outlet and light for each bed. Female dorm had an adjoined shower room with two showers and a big counter with mirrors, three sinks, and stools to sit on while drying hair/doing makeup. Water pressure in the showers was incredible! Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. Toilets were outside the room, across the hall. Very clean. Location pretty good - 5 min walk to a Tozai Line subway station. Neighbourhood calm, clean, and fun to visit the shops on the main street. Hostel had a cozy cafe on the main floor - really nice ambiance for reading, writing, travel planning - and the coffee was the most delicious I've ever had (also overheard other guests commenting on how good the coffee was). Booking included "simple bagel breakfast", which included a fancy bagel (flavours like white chocolate chip, pumpkin seeds with spice, blueberry, etc), yogurt, granola, and the-best-coffee-ever or tea. Laundry available, reasonably priced, have to download an app and pay via credit card (hostel is cashless). Dorm door locks automatically, opens with keycode. Was able to store my luggage before check-in and after check-out.

Price was a bit steep for a bunk in a 14-bed dorm (~6500 yen/night on a weekday, ~9000 yen/night on a weekend) but it is a big city and the hostel is safe, clean, and high-quality, and my booking included breakfast, so the price is comparable to what I've seen in other capital cities. Location is great if you don't mind taking the subway (get an IC card - so handy). If you're on-foot-only, it's about 30 mins walk to Shinjuku and 45 to Shibuya.

The accommodation was nice and clean and the atmosphere was young and friendly. The location is a little far from the main attractions but is well connected by metro. Also I really enjoyed the vibe of the neighborhood, you can find good restaurants where the locals go, and there is convenience stores just around the corner . The breakfast is included but you can only chose a bagel with butter and a coffee (it's a really nice bagle tho).

The capsules are comfy and spacious but there is excessive lighting, difficult to block with the curtains. Also the toilets are outside the dorm.

Loved the aesthetics and overall vibe. It was worth booking the female dorm instead of the mixed one! The bed was actually quite spacious and I felt like there was a decent amount of privacy. The shower room being within the dorm itself was a nice bonus. The proximity to the station was convenient and the surrounding area was really nice too. The free breakfast was just nice and the lunch that was included in my specific stay package was really good as well. Staff were really friendly from beginning to end. :) Wouldn't have minded staying here a bit longer and would definitely book another stay here again!

The nearest station doesn't have an elevator so it was quite a workout lifting my luggage up and down the stairs when checking in and checking out.

The vibes of the accommodation were immaculate, with the cafe slash bar at the lobby keeping the atmosphere lively. The facilities were complete and the bathrooms were clean. The common room was also very functional, I felt like reliving my university days again. The staff were also very helpful and kind.

Everything was cozy and accommodating for solo travelers, but maybe the bunk bed could have a little more lighting. Also, it would be nice if there were more space for the luggage in the room.

We were out and about all day so couldnt' tell much about hostel experience except comfort bed and free bagel/coffee which is simple but enough for what we need in the morning. One thing I really love about is the location, its area wouldn't be recommended as top 5 areas to stay in Tokyo on the internet, however I find it very charming and vibrant neighborhood. You are surrounded by local people and many cool trendy cafes and japanese authentic restaurants. so easy access to the metro station that doesnt take too long to go to any areas in Tokyo.

The free breakfast was a very nice light meal! The staff was excellent, more than willing to help! All of them spoke English at a proficient level which I did not expect at all. One of the women working there phoned ahead to a hotel for me to confirm a booking I was having issues with. I speak Japanese but nowhere near fluent so it was exceptionally helpful and I'm very grateful for the staff being so kind! The room was very clean and had good lighting and plenty of room for me (I'm travelling with a backpack, with suitcase it would be tighter). Also a great place to meet other travellers! Overall, an excellent experience!
