Highly recommend paying extra for the garden view! Staff were really impressively nice. Breakfast at Japanese restaurant wasn’t included and expensive but they were really good.

We paid extra to go to the pool and bath. I thought they were a little over priced for what they were offering. The pool was ok but bath is not impressive at all. The bath room that was attached to the room was beautiful, roomy and impressive but the extra communal bath wasn’t.

The hotel’s perch above a spectacular garden makes it a serene refuge in the midst of urban Tokyo. The views of the garden are breathtaking at every time of day. We were fortunate to arrive as their “Tokyo Moon” display began in the garden, a mystical, luminous event that I’m so glad to have experienced. As amazing as the garden is - and it is - the staff in every department exceeded my every expectation. Never have I enjoyed more kindness and helpfulness. Also, all the restaurants were spectacular.

The decor is classic rather than modern. The carpeting in the heat halls and in our room needed freshening. But this is nothing to the many venues is the hotel that are beautiful, sumptuous, and fresh.

This was the first time myself, my husband and our 2 teenagers had visited Japan. I wanted a hotel that provided spacious rooms, a swimming pool and was in a convenient location for us to explore Tokyo. The hotel didn't disappoint! The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The service and particularly the concierge was outstanding. My son got sun burnt badly when we climbed Mt Fuji, as I don't speak Japanese I asked the concierge to help as I wanted him to see a doctor. They identified a dermatologist, booked us an appointment and handled all the advance communications. The concierge also organised for a very special meal for our last night in Tokyo, a restaurant with a stunning view of the city and a limousine back to the hotel afterwards. We were really blown away by it.

We arrived when there was a Japanese public holiday and the hotel bar was closed over those days. I can quite understand that but it would have been nice to be able to eat and drink at the hotel.

This is a very large hotel which reminded me of the Steigenberger chain in Europe. It is very comfortable and I thought the staff were exceptional. There is a pervading desire to 'help' and make sure you are feeling 'looked after'. The rooms were spacious and beds 10/10 for comfort. Our room had a separate WC which we always appreciate. The Japanese Garden is a delight to walk around outside and we loved the fact that the hotel is away from the crowd/noise in its own considerable space. The closest Metro station is about 10 mins walk although we found it convenient to often get a taxi to the metro and they were always in plentiful supply and not expensive - ca Yen1000. This is one of those hotels that manages to feel smaller than it's raison d'être - ie to host large events. Maybe that is because the conference space is clearly removed from the hotel rooms.

There were three sources of disappointment. 1) As someone reserving via Booking.com we were not allowed complimentary access to the pool. Whilst I empathise that hotels need an incentive to get guest booking directly and apparently this restriction was in the small print, I would have appreciated if both the hotel and Booking.com had made this clearer. We did search for hotels with pools in Tokyo. The charge to use it is expensive at Y4000 per person. 2) The breakfast was not as good as we would have liked and expensive. That said the dining room and the levels of service were top notch. 3) Whilst we enjoyed one evening in the bar - it does close v early at 10.30 and it is rather austere and old world. It is not a place the young feel comfortable in.

The hotel was excellent and had great views. We enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. The staff was very helpful and nice. We felt relaxed and safe in this hotel and the area. The clouds on the ground in the garden are lovely though and I highly recommend walking around and taking pictures. It was a great area. The hotel service was also incredible and immaculate.

It is very removed from all the main areas that tourists may want to go to. So the taxi trips were longer than we wanted them to. We also went to one of their restaurants but the portions were so small and it was a bit pricey for the amount that we got. The decor could use a bit of an upgrade because certain things like the carpets and the curtains were a little too old fashioned.

The hotel is luxurious. Beautiful and sumptuous interior design. Friendly, helpful staff. The setting in the gardens and the sky mist displays are exceptional. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with great views.

The location is perfect if you want to get away from the business of Tokyo. The flip side is that you need to take transport to the main attractions. The recommendation from the hotel that you should make a reservation in their restaurants for meals should be taken seriously as tables were not available in my prefered restaurants on the day.

Superb Japanese hotel with premium facilities and premium service. Everybody was very welcoming - they also changed and proposed another room as per our request (we wanted non smoking instead of smoking). SPA is very good. Location is really good in order to understand that Tokyo is not only crowded city, but has other really nice neighbourhoods with really good restaurants. Metro is not faw away and all main districts are reachable easily. Concierges do their job perfectly. We have ordered babysitting service for our kid and it was perfectly executed.

Amazing amazing hotel. Staff greeted us and check in was very prompt. Staff were extremely attentive and helpful all throughout our stay. The hotel grounds are stunning and worth spending time in, especially in the evenings with the 'Sea of Clouds' display. Incredible choice of restaurants but try to make a booking early or you will risk missing out. Room was spacious and very comfortable with an incredible view of the gardens. Bathroom was a generous size and the amenities they provided were luxurious. Cannot recommend staying here enough. Would definitely return in future and stay longer.

This isn't something we didn't like but this might help others when planning how to get to the hotel. The hotel is located on top of a hill from the nearest train station. Would recommend packing light or taking a taxi from the station.

The staff where unbelievablely kind. I let the lady at front desk know that we got engaged and she gave us a welcome cake and when we were checking out even gave us a hand written card! When we ate at one of the restaurants the staff even took a photo for us and printed it. Honestly they made our stay super magical, and that's not even considering the garden which is out of this world!

Nothing. Everything was great
