Perfect place to stay to get the most out of KinosakiOnsen. Perfect location in the middle of town. Lovely hosts who were happy to help and share a laugh. English speaking host as well. Room was large. The dinner and breakfast are a must. We stayed 2 nights kaiseki one night and shabu shabu the other. Never seen so much food! Very good quality. Public Onsen pass included and the most stylish yukata in town. Make sure to wear this everywhere and get in the spirit. Highly recommend. Private toilet in the room.

Nothing but note there are some stairs. There is no shower in the room but there is a small onsite Onsen but you won’t need if you are visiting the local Onsen.

From check-in, we felt welcomed and taken care of at Tsukimotoya Ryokan. The staff were helpful at showing us to our room, how to prepare for the onsen, and serving us delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. It was our first stay at a ryokan, and it was fantastic. The room we booked was quite spacious, and the property is situated in the core of Kinosaki, making it easy to access all of the onsens. We loved our stay, it was so relaxing and the hospitality was amazing.

Nothing bad to say about Tsukimotoya and their staff. The only issue we had were some loud neighbours who partied quite late.

Great traditional Japanese meals. Very comfortable rooms. You’re provided a yukata and footwear from the moment you arrive so you immediately have something comfortable and fashionable to wear for the duration of your stay. You are also provided a pass for access to 7 different onsen in town so you have lots of options for relaxing in the springs. The staff were all wonderful. Very attentive at all points and very forgiving of us trying to stumble through the language barrier. The lady taking care of us also gifted us origami each day which we'll treasure.

Nothing. It was all good. If you wear a larger shoe (I’m a US16 mens) maybe bring a larger slipper for yourself to wear indoors.

An exceptionall stay in a magical location! The Ryokan is totally in the heart of the town for all the onsen visits. We were greeted so graciously on arrival and the hospitality continued on this level throughout, with help how to navigate the yakuta and how to eat Japanese food when we where a bit stumped beyond what we already knew! The breakfasts and evening meals were amazing, a feast for the eyes and a real experience! A stay to remember for a lifetime. The hospitality was beautiful, thank you!

Absolutely nothing to say.

The staff is extremely nice and helpful, the food was absolutely terrific, one staff member speaks very strong English which is great for foreign guests. The room we stayed in had a window directly to a cherry blossom tree. Very beautiful. This is an exceptional ryokan to experience.

There are small beetles that sneak into the building from somewhere, only some but important to know if you are scared of bugs. There is also a curfew to know about for if you are a night owl. I think this is common for the town though.

We felt very welcome when arriving. This ryokan is not on the main street near the river, just one house block behind it and therefore extremely quiet. The ryokan interior decoration is very much to our liking, with a lot of wood and a great attention for details. Our room was big, with ample closet spaces to store all our clothes and belonging. The windows and inner terraces were garden side, so we felt close to the nature. Very very good dinner and breakfast, with gentle service and counsels on the right 'process' :) A shared bathroom with a small onsen at ground level is available, which could be renovated a little but I used it only once as we spent our time touring all the big Onsen in KinnosakiOnsen anyway and felt very 'clean' all the time !

nothing to 'not like'

The staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome. The food was great - both the Japanese style breakfast and the dinner looked meticulously prepared and delicious. There is a small hot bath (split by gender) in the building open till late and the room itself was great - spacious, with all amenities and a traditional futon for sleeping which we found very comfortable.

N/A, just wished we stayed longer

The staff was superb!! Super lovely and the staff at the reception speaks great english. Even the ladies from the restaurant, (super nice) not speaking almost none english, they made a whole effort to teach us how to eat the traditional food, and gesticulate to ensure we had whatever we needed, from the kimonos, tea, water, how to dress. I just wished I had more time there!! LOVE IT!!

Nothing, I loved everything.

Tsukimotoya is in the heart of Kinosaki Onsen, reachable with a 10 minutes walk from the station, as soon as you reach the canal. The property is amazingly well maintained and the staff is charming. Rooms are traditional with futon beds on tatami mat, and the half board includes an amazing, traditional dinner and breakfast. Staying at a ryokan like Tsukimotoya grants access to all the seven public onsen in town for free. They provide yukata and geta sandals available to use to immerse yourself even more and blend with locals and native tourists.

We absolutely loved it :)

A fantastic 3-storey Ryokan in the heart of Kinosaki Onsen. Our room came with yukatas to wear outside and they also provided traditional wood sandals (and rubber boots in case of rain), and umbrellas. It was the perfect place to unwind. We had a breakfast and dinner package which exceeded our expectations. Especially the dinners were absolutely amazing and the portions were big.
