The whole stay was very relaxing. The staff made a lot of effort and were always helpful. We used the free shuttle service four times in total (from an to Hashimoto Station and from an to Koyasan area). It takes about 20 minutes by car from Hashimoto Station to get to the hotel. The breakfast was traditional Japanese and we enjoyed it very much. The quantity was more than sufficient and the food varied a little every day, which we really liked. The dinner was also very tasty. The size of the accommodation was more than sufficient and above average what we are used to in Japan. We lacked nothing.

nothing to complain about

We stayed here as a base for Koyasan, as we couldn’t get accommodation for five up on the mountain. We had a hire car. The road from Koyasan down here is extremely narrow and windy - it will take you half an hour, and you will want to be a confident driver on narrow mountain roads. We lived in fear that we would meet an oncoming vehicle in one of the insanely narrow stretches, but never did, thankfully. They have a restaurant on site which we recommend you use - there is nowhere else to eat within a large distance, and almost all the restaurants in Koyasan are closed in the evening. We had breakfast there which was fantastic - though a little too traditionally Japanese for our fussy teenage son’s taste. The accommodation is in a lovely quiet valley - it’s a beautiful spot. Our cabin was spacious and had good cooking facilities (though we didn’t use them). The receptionist spoke enough English to get us booked in without recourse to Google Translate. There was no wifi in our cabin - but amazingly enough there was phone reception, despite being in a deep valley in the middle of nowhere. There may be Wifi in reception but we didn’t explore this. We used the private onsen in our cabin - basically a very large stone bath that you fill from hot and cold taps to whatever temperature you want. Very pleasant. The hotel seems to offer a shuttle service to Koyasan - we didn’t use it but overheard other guests who had used it.

There was an Onsen tax we needed to pay at reception - though it was only a few hundred yen.

Extremely peaceful. Lovely room, great walks. Nice onsen - always quiet. Food was amazing - authentic Japenese. Right in the middle of nowhere next to nature

some of the mountain roads very narrow, so need to be a confident driver. Hard to reach without a car.

It was very spacious and comes with a private Onsen. Even though it is a bit off the path the location and surrounding nature are beautiful. The breakfast was very delicious and with many local ingredients.

The location was difficult to get to with poor weather.

Time setting was in the wilderness and driving there from Koya was interesting. Great big cottage for two people. Nice place to stay longer as it was spacious and even had coming facilities.

Nothing to complain about. I am just used to comfy beds than futons in my old age 😏
