scenery excellent, spacious room, huge bed, feels like staying in kampung

bed bugs! - hope they can treat the mattress to kill the bed bugs. my son and I woke up in the middle of the night with bites all over our body. we know its bed bugs coz we saw lots of tiny bits of blood spots on the mattress when we woke up

Fantastic place to stay. The room is fitted with aircon and a fan and is very spacious. A semi outdoor bathroom is also so well maintained and lovely. The view was so picturesque. Within a short walk to the main beach (Pantai Cenang) however walking back at night it is not lit. The staff are so kind and hospitable, they even let me take a shower in their staff area as my flight was at 10pm and I had spent the day at the beach.

Bring lots of bug spray because I got quite bitten by mosquitos. The room is close to the main strip and therefore very loud too.

It was a nice room, new and clean, very spacious. The bathroom was just perfect, first time saw such a good, designed and renovated bathroom in bungalow. Didn’t have any insects in the room, except once but the workers came well equipped and removed it fast. Stuff was friendly and helpful. So nice that they provide unlimited drinking water in the cooler and don’t use plastic bottles. The way to the beach took about 5-10 mins. The view around was pleasing to the eye every morning.

-sounds of animals/insects outside quite loud at night -the wardrobe have some old musty smell -the sliding door is not secured enough and hard to lock and unlock -the signboard to this place is not clear enough -no basic toiletteries -front desk is not very welcoming -parking space is small and limited -a lot of lizards

The room is spacious with a super comfy bed. The toilet is also huge with good water pressure. I love the rain shower. We didn't order breakfast but you can always walk to the restaurant nearby for a great selection of food. It is just 2 minute walk from the resort.

The only setback was maybe on communication breakdown where we had informed the staff to make our room for 2nd day when we went out in the moring but it didn't happen. They didn't make up our room once we came back from outside.

I like the atmosphere, the concept of The Gemalai itself. Just open the door and we can see a very beautiful view. At night there is no need to turn on the air conditioner because it is already cold 🤭 The toilet is also comfortable. I booked a two-story house. Under the house there is a place to eat and relax. If I go to Langkawi I will definitely stay again at The Gemalai Village.

The stay was perfect. We were travelling with a toddler (9 months old) but it was perfect. This was our last night stay in Langkawi and we decided to try a different thing. The room, the cleanliness, the scenery was perfect. Not so lucky for us because the paddy field was already harvested. But nonetheless, we managed to see how they prepare the land for the next season! New experience for myself.

Everything was perfect for us. Even though this place is not kid friendly, but in the end, we were the one who decided to try this place. Since the surrounding was a paddy field, so expect little bugs flying in the room, and perhaps, it due to rainy season. But, it was not a problem.

We loved it! The room/ hut was gorgeous - spacious, characterful, very clean, and in such a relaxing location. 5min walk to beach, ~20min walk to more main area of cenang & beach.

Reception area is very small & bit run down - didn’t really make any difference to our stay though.
