- Staying here is an experience of a lifetime. - Access to Tulum Ruins (10 min walk) and beach (20 steps away) - I would like to say that staying on the beach itself is the best thing about this property but I'd be lying. It's the EXTREMELY friendly and loving staff. They make every effort to make your stay Amazing! I would come back over and over again just for the Hospitality. - The bathrooms. DO NOT be thrown off by the fact that they are shared bathrooms. They are cleaner, better maintained and well done compared to even the top most hotels on the Tulum beaches. - The decor and aesthetics are so well tuned with the Tulum experience without any of the useless bells and whistles. - Community feel with all the workshops, classes. - Oh did I mention you are literally 20 feet from the beach, and we could see the gorgeous blue waters from inside out camps? - Everything is cleaned, maintained and taken care of with the highest care - The detailed thought-process that's behind every design element is extra-ordinary. Loved it! - Great Wifi - They helped us book Scuba and Snorkeling tours as well
Minor things which are not really dislike but just part of the experience that one should be ready for: - Strong winds and sand blowing inside the tent and in your stuff. But you signed up for glamping on the beach. What do you expect? - Commute to South beach and Tulum downtown can be very expensive. If you plan to spend most of your time doing that, would be better to stay elsewhere. This statement is true for anywhere on North Beach and is not a reflection of the property itself - No ATMs on property, and nearby are are mostly out of cash. Tip to Hotel Staff: Consider adding a free rotating shuttle option for hotel guests between Tulum and Hotel, and an ATM on the property limited for Hotel Guests.

I stayed there for 8 days with an intention to be a beach bum 😁 and I was not disappointed at all with the choice. The location allowed me to swim, read and be on the beach. For me the location was great as my tent was the first one facing the beach therefore access to it was amazing. The receptionist, Camila who checked me in was very helpful. The staff responsible for the rooms cleaned it daily and also the security at night guarding access from the beach.
The restaurant needs an overhaul in terms of inspiration for the service and the menu. I don't think it will change but hey there are lots of options around the hotel to dine. Therefore, deducted two points out of 10. The communal toilets and showers didn't work for a few days but they were quickly resolved in the morning. This is okay because the hotel is located in the restricted area limiting development of a typical resort infrastructure.

We loved everything, the tent is super nice and the beach is amazing. The guests can use the sun bed on the beach if they are not rented, but when we were there (August) we could use them all day. Access to pool and beach included. There is AC in the tent so you are never too hot. Shower works well and they are clean, as well as the bathrooms. The staff is very nice, Alan and Lina have been very kind with us, we did the checkin at 11PM.
The prices at the restaurant/bar are very very high, but you are in Tulum in the natural reserve, so it is everywhere like this.

We traveled in Mexico for 7 weeks and this was our favorite place. We would call it the pearl of Tulum, at least for us. It was a great place to get inner peace. It combined all different aspects of connecting to nature, doing yoga, enjoying the view of the blue sea and listening to the sound of the waves. I don't like to be to theatrics, but that was the one place where I really felt entirely relaxed. However, it may strongly depend on the way how you like to spend your vacations. If you are more of a resort / all-inclusive type of person, this place might not be what you are looking for. For us, this was a great experience, and I could spend more time telling you all the details of how great it was. But the only way for you will be to find out by yourself.
Nothing really. One thing that you may be prepared for is the cost. The place isn't cheap. But in my opinion, most was worth the money you spend if you stay there for ceremonies or nice concerts or plays in the evenings. For me, this was one part of the price I paid for drinks and food.

My partner and I had a wonderful and relaxing time at Ikal. The location can't be beat, and the community vibe was welcoming, comfortable, and very intentional. Anna was so helpful and fun to talk to - She offered us several suggestions on things to do, directions, and transportation and was genuinely so kind. Ikal was the perfect getaway with the best views and vibes. The space is beautiful and designed with care. We loved the live music and the gorgeous art pop up (Thank you Alejandro and @wild.child.tulum for the incredible overalls!) Tulum was far more expensive than we realized, but the location and people of Ikal makes it all worth it. We are so grateful for our time there and definitely will be back.
The only thing I would say would be that the food was quite expensive; I am a vegetarian, and even ordering simple items (quesadillas, for example) off the menu was still shocking. Each meal (with a couple of drinks) was over $100 USD for the two of us. There are not many options in the beach area for affordable eating, but you can't beat the location. The wifi was spotty but served its purpose when needed.

The bohemian feel by the beach was lovely; live music was excellent and frequent; the bed was comfortable; the walking to the showers/toilets was not so bad; breakfast was good; lots of interesting activities on site
I was in a tent on a platform with nothing but a bed. It could be better furnished - a chair, a mirror. The beach is not great for swimming with tons of seaweed. Music from the restaurant went a bit late. BUT - the biggest concern was the inaccessibility of the resort due to the national guard in the park that was a barrier - I waited 2 hours to get past them one day to get back to the resort. Plus they patrolled the beach and entry road with weapons, which made me feel uncomfortable.

We liked our tent a lot and the waterbassin to clean sandy feet before walking up to the tent was very nice. Bed was very good. We liked that it was quiet at 9:15-9:30 and no music heard anymore.
We were in the son most of the daytime, so some cover (extended tent cloth or so) would have been nice. Also a little refrigerator would have been nice to keep our drinks and some yoghurt/veggies we normally eat as a snack, fresh.

A beautiful spot and wonderfully designed. The staff are amazing, so helpful and friendly. The restaurant and bar are fantastic and we loved the extra bonus of the activities in the yoga shala. Quiet and super relaxing, we loved it! The room was really comfortable and the shared bathrooms spotlessly clean and pretty. We didn't mind sharing at all, they were always clean and empty. We've already booked to return for another stay in 2 months :)
We loved everything. Location wise, if you want to go have dinner in the fun, buzzy hotel zone of Tulum then it's $600 mxn to go there by taxi and it takes 20 mins, which was fine! :) But since the road to Ikal Camp & the national park is now only one-way for cars, it's a much longer route back home and the taxi charged us $1200 mxn which is quite ridiculous - I'd pay less than half of that in central London!!! The taxi situation in Tulum has been a joke for many years now. I'd recommend staying local to the hotel for dinner as the restaurants nearby are amazing and have gorgeous views right next to the sea... much better choice! :)

Beautiful place in the middle of the national park. Description and reality met quite well. Nice place to relax and get a bit different kind of holiday experience. The common showers and bathrooms worked very well and were kept clean all the time. Reception staff was very friendly and helpful.
Air conditioning in the tent was not enough to cool the tent, but is rather a fan. The restauraunt has good food, but the prices are rather high and portions quite small. It is a bit annoying that you have to tip every time even for the included breakfast. Their pool could have stairs or a ladder installed. Cold water should be available for guests as the weather is very hot.

Perfect location in the natural reserve directly by the beach. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Live music every night. The common bathrooms and showers were always very clean and desinfected. The staff was always very friendly.
The prices for food and drinks where extremely high. I am ready to spend money on good food and drinks but in this place it felt just bad to spend so much money on ordinary stuff. Thats the only criticism I have. The rest was perfect.
