The place is very nicely organized and decorated. There are a lot of common areas to stay in other than the rooms or dorms. There’s a pool with always cool water, which is fantastic on the hot and humid days in Merida. The breakfast they provide is excellent: apart from the continental type breakfast, you can also get yogurt and granola, some bread , fruit and some local dish/snack (it changes every day).

The air conditioning in the dorms is put on not earlier than at 9 pm. And though it really is not that important during the day, it could really be turned on at least at 8 or 7 pm.

The staff is amazing there. Very kind and communicate well. The place a mix of historic building and modern renovations. I love it. Best location! It’s a few blocks from the ADO bus station and in the other direction, a few blocks from the main plaza. As you read in many of the comments, the breakfast is truly amazing. it was different some mornings too, from chilaquiles one day and chocolate chip pancakes another. A/C worked great on the schedule that they say, like 9pm-9am or something like that. Also, I rented a car and they had a parking spot across the street for 50 pesos a day. Highly recommend this place especially for the value it has.

Drinking water only available in the mornings but water isn’t expensive to buy in the OXXO anyways.

- Great included breakfast with granola, tortillas, lots of different pastries that vary every day, local juice… - spacious backyards, lots of seating areas, calm atmosphere - amazingly equipped kitchens - elegant furniture and tiles in the common areas - the staff is really helpful, nice and friendly, especially Jessica who welcomed us - there are 2 mini pools and hammocks as well

- there are no curtains around the dorm beds, so literally no privacy - one of the rooms is right next to the street, the other one is next to the bathrooms, so not much sleep is possible in either - there are only 2 showers for 14 people, which was a bit too few

This place was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was great for single travelers like myself. It was clean and upkept at all times. The back area is great for relaxation/socializing. The staff were SUPER helpful and friendly (Irma and Carolina). The location is great, about a 10 minute walk to the main square. I will definitely be back the next time I visit Merida.

I was in a 4 bed room with an ensuite. The way the layout is, the 8 bed room guests had to walk through the door to our room and then through another door to get to theirs. They also shared our bathroom (which had 2 sinks, 2 showers and a toilet.) Not the biggest deal in the world, just an FYI.

The location is great. The hotel is calm, clean with a colonial style. The commun kitchen is well furnished and nice. The check in was fast as we paid trough the app. So no hidden fees. There is a small swimming pool wich is great. We had a first floor, garden side room wich was calm and very nice. The bed is very confortable. And even tough the basthroom had some problem of evacuation, we really appreciate to have all the convenience as shampoo comditioner and cream. We paid 880 mxn so it was a nice ratio price/quality. The welcoming is not specially warm but very professional and efficiente. We definetly recomand this place !

Very nice and quiet place in Mérida. The check-in was smooth and welcoming; breakfast offered as arrived early in the morning. Common space is lovely. The room is clean, nice and the bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is good, and with hot water anytime. Great central location at 5 mins walking to the ADO Centro Histórico TAME Terminal. Storing luggage/backpack for early check-in or late departure is a valuable service.

Works during the early afternoon outside the room causing noise. Luggage/backpacks should be stored in a larger and dedicated locker, instead of a small and narrow closet.

Everything! I'm a 52 year old experienced traveller and I can honestly say this hostel ranks as the best I've ever stayed in! The decor is classy, and functional, I would love to have a home this cool! The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly, the owner Andrea who checked me in was so helpful and and welcoming! The location is perfect, slap bang between the bus station and the main Plaza in the centre of the town so not too far for either! The breakfast was excellent and plentiful! The whole ambience of the place makes all the guests so relaxed and in turn makes it so easy to talk and get to know your fellow travellers! I've never got to know so many people in anyother hostel than here! This ain't a party hostel, I do like a party don't worry about that I'm Scottish, but I didn't feel that I needed to party within or missed it at all such was my enjoyment of my stay here! HIGHLY IMPRESSED, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! GO! VAMOS! 11 stars!

Great and helpful staff. delicious, healthy breakfasts. proximity to ADO bus station, Mercado Lucas de Galvez, and Plaza Grande. fun empanada making class. beautiful common spaces. room was extremely comfortable and well-designed. interesting and very kind fellow travelers/guests. Being able to cook food bought at the market was a big plus. A wonderful place to take my 10-year-old and 14-year-old daughters.

we got a few mosquito bites by the pool. no big deal. and there was a weird intermittent low-frequency hum (thrum?) coming from somewhere (perhaps the medical clinic next door?) that bothered me (maybe mostly because I didn’t know its source?) but didn’t actually interrupt my sleep. no one else in my family complained much about it.

Casa Garza is a unique place - it's like a beautiful home you don't want to leave. The owner Andrea, and staff Irma and Caroline are amazing women that make you feel welcome, comfortable and get out of their way to make your stay the very best. The interior is beautifully decorated, the wi-fi is good and the cleaning is top-notch (including the small pool and kitchen). Every morning a full breakfast buffet with fresh juices, fruits, warm dishes and coffee - and your choice of soy or regular milk. I was there for the Mexican Independence day and they celebrated at the hostel with Pinata and quizz for all the guests to join. A free cooking class a few days later. Allways a personalized follow-up on your day. I could go on and on. Thank you for a high quality stay in every way - I will definitely return when I get back to Merida

It's a nic place, very well designed, very clean, fairly central and a great breakfast. But the 4 beds female dorm it's the tiniest room that I have ever seen in Mexico and the space of 1x1.5 meter to move around. perhaps smaller than a prison cell and it's so annoying that women have to pay more and receive less. It's absolutely discriminatory action and disturbing, especially when the place it's run by a woman.

Not very accommodating and expensive for what the women can get. No reliable WIFI and no WiFi in the room at all. She charges the Dollars rate which no place charges and much higher than the bank and market rate, such a greedy action!!!!!
