A wonderful, old-style, 2 star hotel property that offers incredible value, a great location and a very helpful staff - of the quality you might find at a much higher rated place. My room on 3rd floor was clean & comfortable rooms with a small balcony. At this price and in this category, Hotel Central exceeded expectations. Within walking distance of Gare d' Port railway, Hotel Central sits on a large square just inside the Old Medina walls. Yes, the area is crumbling a bit, as Casablanca plans major renovations for this district. Yet the people inside the Medina are quite friendly and the property feels quite safe & secure. The square in front of the hotel is lively during the day with small cafes, but most nights activity quieted by 9 or 10pm. The Hotel feels historic and is kept in good shape by a small, helpful dedicated team. They assisted me with lots of suggestions and even took the time to secure a local guide and restaurant reservations. My room was larger than I expected, with a comfortable bed, a small table an chair, and dark curtains to block the morning light. Housekeeping offered daily cleaning service and I also took advantage of having my laundry cleaned during my stay. The toilet / shower room ensuite is small, but also kept quite clean by the staff. Old hotels have many quirks and Hotel Central is no exception. For the right kind of guest.. it will reward you with its charm and comfort.
Water from shower often spilled onto floor in toilet area.

The hotel was in a great location in the medina. We had a room with a view over the nearby square, which was really nice. The staff were friendly and helpful, the WiFi was reliable and the breakfast was good.
The shower worked well but the cubicle was a bit small. It would be difficult for larger people to use comfortably. There were also some bugs around the room but nothing crazy considering there aren't any screens over the windows and the age of the building.

Our fourth or fifth stay. Perfect option if you arrive at the airport and want a take a breath to plan your next options. The square in front of the hotel has everything you'd probably need when you start or end your Marocco trip: mail box, ATM, restaurant (fish and other food), small shops for bottled water and so forth. The Casa Fish restaurant next to the hotel has changed into a really nice place where you can find much more than tasty food. If you want to mingle with the locals, watch the national football league on 2nd floor or local musicians perform on the roof terasse, this is your place. - The hotel staff was always approachable and very friendly. They even helped us out with negotiations with a local car rental company via phone. - Good and attentive cleaning staff is often around as well. No bugs, no dirt. Solid and clean.
Actually, not much to complain about. Sure, a pool would be nice, and breakfast on the roof terasse! But that's wishful thinking and not what they advertise. So, more seriously, there's nothing to report.

I loved the fact that this is the oldest hotel in Casablanca, operating since 1906, and it truly feels like you’ve stepped back in time once you enter the front door. The room I had gave a lovely view of the port + I love how spacious the rooms are. The bed was super firm [which I loved] + just the entire personality of the place for someone who loves antiques + old fashioned things was wonderful.
The toilet was dirty when I first entered my room + the floor around the toilet was wet, so I cleaned it myself with antiseptic wipes. Also my shower head was not connected to the wall which made for an interesting shower.

It's an old building full of character with a spiral staircase to the rooms We were on the top floor when we opened the balcony door we were surprised with the great views of the harbour and the small square beneath us with all the locals sitting in cafes It felt like we were in the movie casablanca sitting in the balcony with a fresh sea breeze drinking local tea The location is fantastic everything is only 10 to 15minutes away ( train station - harbour - shopping centre ) hence the name Central Next door you can buy a grilled sandwich for a euro This hotel is more than just good clean accomodation but an experience that we would recommend to anyone who wants to experience life in casablanca

We loved our room and the location. Our room was on the first floor (one floor up from street level) and had a small balcony overlooking the square. The second night we were there, the cafe across the street had live music all afternoon. We just sat on the balcony, playing cards and listening to music. It was great. We also loved the location. Easily accessible to trains and taxis, but walkable.
The bathroom was a bit tight, the shower had hot (really hot) water and great water pressure, but a flimsy curtain. We also needed more towels.

The location of the hotel is about 300 meters in front of the train station. From here you can take the train to the airport in 50 minutes. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the medina. The location is great. The front desk of the hotel is also very friendly. We arrived at the hotel at 2:00 in the middle of the night and would check us in. When we go out early in the morning, we will also open the door and store our luggage. Very reassuring experience.
I hope the hotel can provide pick-up and drop-off service, or help guests call a taxi. Because as an out-of-towner taking a taxi from the city to the airport, the driver usually charges a high price.

It's a great hotel that has an unbeatable price for what you are getting -- set right at the edge of the Old Medina and a 10 minute walk to Casa Port. The hotel also has a vintage charm with classic Moroccan tiles, blue doors, and charming French balconies to chill out after a day's excursion in town.
There's no AC so you will have to open the balcony doors to let in the cool air -- which also means you'll let in the noise from outside at night. A small compromise.

The staff were the best, especially at the front desk. They provided you with good information about Casablanca without selling you anything. The place was clean and comfortable and all the services advertised available
On the last day I was greatly disappointed by my pick up taxi. He came very late and I almost missed my Tain and he charged me three times more than the hotel had told me what the price was going to be.

Romantic, start of the 20th century flair but a decent modern bed and definitely clean. Respectful, chill receptionist. Would come again!
Not about the property but… One male European guest there was yelling at the receptionist and being entitled, threatening to leave a bad review (Mar 18). I felt sorry for the staff that were definitely diplomatic and professional.
