Ambre Epices is an outstanding Riad and I would 100% stay again. Ahead of our arrival I received a comprehensive message with lots of details. They asked if I wanted an airport pick up for €25 which I was happy to do as we arrived late at night and Morocco has a closed currency so I was already wondering how I would locate an ATM to pay for a taxi. The pick up was very easy and the cost added onto our room. They offered to cook us dinner on arrival which was 3 courses for €25pp which we were really happy with as we arrived late, and we pre ordered. The food was ready as soon as we arrived and was amazing. The portions were HUGE and so tasty, didn't find a better chicken pastilla for the rest of the holiday! We also pre booked some massages which were great - they sent the costs ahead of time so you can factor it into your trip. The included breakfast was amazing! It was different pastries/cake every day along with bread, juice, tea and eggs. There was loads of it and kept us going until 4pm!! The room was gorgeous, cleaned every day, bed made, new towels etc. Really wonderful bedrooms and quiet area. The location is perfect. It is just next to the Souks so easy access to the madness but far enough away for some peace and quiet at night. The riad is down some alleys which are full of riads and are well lit and felt safe. The location is near a lot of restaurants, Souks, food shops and a taxi rank, so ideal! Finally the staff - oh wow. Every staff member couldn't do enough for you. They are all so friendly and hard working. Komal especially made us feel so welcome, went through all the local sights on a map for us, made recommendations and answered all our questions. I couldn't fault out stay at all. The riad had a beautiful roof top and smaller inside spaces with sofas and a fire for colder months. It was modern but also has the classic Moroccan charms. I'll be going back!!

There was nothing I didn't like

Siyam and the team couldn't have been more lovely. Sweet and helpful and always around. The Riad is perfect, in a quiet alley yet just a few minutes from the souks. Traditional decor and roof terrace with loungers/beds and a fantastic view to the mountains at breakfast. Very good breakfast, different each day - I could have the OJ on tap! We stayed in a deluxe suite. Black interior which made rather dark, but generally very nice. We were there in January, if it were June I think the cool and dark would be most welcome! I'm not a fan of wet-room bathrooms but that's just a personal preference. Plenty of space. We paid £400 for 3 nights which felt like good value. Ten minutes or so on foot to the square, with shops and restaurants on the doorstep. I'd recommend to anyone who wants to be in the heart of the action but still with peace and quiet. And do the Pikala bike tour of the Medina; highlight of our trip!

- Considering we booked a superior room, I was quite underwhelmed by the room - would book a standard room if I were to stay again - Didn't have some basic facilities e.g. an iron (had to pay extra if we wanted anything ironing) - No hot water for a while on the morning of our check out which delayed us - No full length mirror in our room - Lack of space to put away clothes

Wow, what an amazing place this was. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and made our first time in Marrakesh a memorable one. The Riad is stunning, and feels very homely, the breakfast each morning was delicious and we throughly enjoyed it. The Riad is also in a very central location with most places of interest within walking distance. The staff want out of their way to ensure our time here was well spent. They were extremely helpful with planning all excursions, meaning there was nothing for us to worry about or plan, making them all stress free! I would highly recommend this place to anyone, and we look forward to coming back in the future.

I can honestly say this was one or the best trips that I've been on and what made it was the outstanding service from the full team at the Riad. I visited with my husband and 3 friends for a 4 night break in January to get some winter sun. The riad arranged transfers from the airport and we were met on the street by a member of the team who led us to the hotel and transported out bags. We were greeted warmly by name on arrival in Riad and given tea and treats while we waited for our rooms. Siahn then took time to ask what we wanted to do while on our trip and planned every small detail for us including some fabulous restaurant recommendations. Nothing was ever too much! The service was personal and better than most five star hotels that we have stayed in. Siahn is a credit to the Riad, she truly is outstanding. The suite that we booked was excellent, the interior was done to a high standard and the bathroom was next level luxury. We organised a cooking lesson in the Riad with the chef Fatima. We met at 11am, went to the markets with Siahn and Fatima to buy the ingredients and then cooked lunch together and enjoyed it on the rooftop with some wine we purchased while out and about (the Riad is dry but they were happy to provide an ice bucket and glasses) As a gay couple we were slightly nervous about staying in Morocco but it was as never an issue and we felt safe and welcome at all times. The Riad is in a great location with some many restaurants, bars and the souks just a short walk away. It’s the ideal location! As a group we have now decided to make it an annual trip, the hotel was extremely affordable and had the most perfect set up. Thank you so much for an amazing holiday! We can’t wait to come back and stay with you guys again

Don’t book the 18m2 room for two people if you have luggages. It’s really small. It’s good only for one.

Ambre Epices Medina Riad is a beautiful and cosy hotel in the centre of Medina. It is very well located and by foot it is possible to explore the energetic and exotic landscapes of the markets (Souks). The facilities are outstanding, modern, while preserving the traditional design of Morochian architecture. The staff is incredibly friendly and professional. They have helped me a lot with every situation. The food is top-level either at breakfast or lunch/dinner. I would highly recommend a stay in Ambre Epices Medina.

Nothing at all... The taxis and transfers cannot park right in front of the hotel due to the fact that it is located in a dense, small street area. Due to that fact, it is essential to contact the hotel in advance and a staff member will walk you to the hotel. I strongly advise you to install offline google maps in order to avoid using internet data in order to fully take advantage of the beautiful Marrakech!

The location was fabulous, the staff were so helpful and kind, and the room was beautiful. Also loved the breakfast we had on the rooftop terrace. We had a late flight the next day and they were very accommodating with allowing us to hang out around the Riad all day and helped set up a taxi to get us to the airport that evening.

The water pressure was insane. You barely turned it on before water would shoot out at you and get everything wet. The shower especially was difficult to manage because there was no lip between the shower and the rest of the bathroom so the water got absolutely everywhere.

Everything about the property, experience and staff was exceptional! The breakfast was the best that we have ever had, so much variety, very fresh and with a brilliant view! The staff cannot be faulted, they were so welcoming, polite, friendly and professional from the second we arrived and left. We would certainly recommend and come back in the future!

In all honesty, there was absolutely nothing that we think could be improved, everything exceeded our expectations!

Staff were very helpful and informative. Organised trips for us and offered to ring and book restaurants also. Food was excellent. Stayed for 7 nights and different breakfast each morning. Evening meals also delicious and catered for vegetarians. Rooftop terrace has really nice views and catches the sun really well in the morning. Rooms exceeded our expectations with nice facilities and very clean.
