The staff were so accommodating. This is my 4 trip to nepal and this is definitely one of the best hotels, especially for being in the city centre. I have a lot of experience here and the staff brought the feeling of being in the mountains. They are so friendly and polite. I’ve not had a better experience in a city! It’s been so wonderful. The staff in particular; Simrik,Sharda, Manidh, Shaiana and Chef Davraj were amazing. I highly recommend this hotel as they will cater for all your need. Once again they are some of the friendliest people I’ve come across. Nepal is amazing! You’re going to love it. I can’t leave out the boys in the Infinity bar and lounge; Soham, Sudip and Joshef. They made my evenings here so fun. They are so full af smiles and we’re willing to let me play my own music and did so many thing to help me enjoy my experience to the max.

Everything. The bed is the best I’ve slept in while visiting nepal. There were so many things that made my experience magical that I really don’t want to leave. This is my fourth visit and definitely not the last. When I land in Kathmandu next time I will come straight here! For sure.

The Hotel Barahi was incredibly good value for the high standard of service and size of the rooms. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, and the reception and housekeeping teams in particular went above and beyond to deliver a great service. The facilities were also really lovely and kept very clean. The view from the pool area is fantastic and it was great to always be able to get a seat in the pool area to work or to relax.

Some things that you'd expect from a 5 star hotel were not quite there. For example, on one morning a group of 3 guests spent 2 hours screeching at each other across the entire pool area, clearly bothering other guests, and none of the staff intervened to ask them to leave or to respect the other people present. If the staff present were intimidated by them, a manager should have been called to deal with the situation.

Loved the quality of the property facilities - everything is new and clean as it's a new hotel. Terrific location, at the beginning of the vibrant Thamel area. The food at breakfast and room service was decent too. What made my 5-nights stay here (with my senior citizen parents) memorable, was the exceptional quality of service, and the warm and welcoming staff members who looked after our every need. Right from the reception to housekeeping to the restaurant. Special mention of Ms. Ojoswi Kakshapati, who addressed some special requests I had made pre-stay for my parents. She not only got those done, but got us great adjoining rooms, and checked on everything being right during our stay.

Nothing to not like. If someday there is a choice of more restaurants, that would be great. But Thamel has so many eating options, that it's not a a big issue.

A very pleasant hotel in a great location. The rooftop restaurant was exceptional, the hotel staff very helpful and always smiling. We enjoyed the rich breakfast, outdoor seating with a wonderful view of the city. You literally feel like you are in a comfortable bubble from the surrounding city. Dinner very reasonably priced, more expensive alcohol is a matter of Nepal in general. Perfect air conditioning, clean toilet, daily cleaning, possibility to make coffee, fast internet of course. English as a language of communication is a matter of course. We will definitely return to the hotel next year and can only recommend it. In terms of price, it is at the level of hotels in Prague, but generally much better.

The hotel was practically new when I stayed, so I had the best experience imaginable. I got off a flight from Pokhara, and was exhausted by the time I reached the hotel. During check-in, they handed me a rolled up hot napkin, and that set the tone for my entire visit. The room was beautiful, with a view to match. I could see the Swayambhunath temple from my room, as well as the surrounding Thamel area. Everyone warned me that Kathmandu was noisy, but I didn't hear a thing from my room. There was a fruit platter set out in my room when I checked in, as well as cookies with the coffee service. I especially liked that there was a French press for coffee with instructions alongside. I am very finicky about bathrooms, so I was thrilled with the one in Hotel Barahi. Well-appointed and squeaky clean. Oddly though, there was only one hook for a bath towel. No place to hang up napkins or face towels. The breakfast buffet was amazing, with a mix of continental, Indian, and Nepali cuisines. There were the live counters, which was great. The restaurant is at the top, so you dine with a view of the infinity swimming pool, which in turn overlooks the Narayanhiti Palace Museum. The breakfast spans a generous 4 hours as well, so there is plenty of time to tuck in. This brings me nicely to the location, which is in Thamel. The hotel is literally opposite the Garden of Dreams, and about 3 minutes away from the Palace Museum. Thamel is all around as well. The famous durbar square is also close by, so really you're in the heart of the tourist area.

There was only one problem with the hotel, and it wasn't a huge one either. The housekeeping (which comes twice a day—once for cleaning and secondly for turn down service) was very erratic. A few times, they came at 9 am. Others, they didn't show up at all, till I called the reception to send them at 5 pm. They did apologise profusely, as the hotel was full and they were severely understaffed.
