Great location on beautiful canal. Easy walking to centre and shops, cafes, bars etc. The staff were helpful and courteous and happy to assist.

The room was smaller than perhaps we’d thought, the bathroom very compact. But to be expected as in a converted canal house. It is NOT a hotel. There are no extra facilities. Coffee machine in hallway was welcome. The building is narrow and stairs steep. Not an issue for those able and agile to get up and down. But don’t expect a lift nor breakfast. This was fine if you know this in advance. It didn’t impact our stay here and I would happily go back.

The room is comfy and very well equipped. The location is even better! It locates right by the canal and not exactly on the touristy spot of Amsterdam which means it is not too loud and calmer for us. The staff is really nice and sweet, it was a joyful check in experience for us. Note that the stairs are indeed steep just like the other reviews mentioned but the staff is going to help you if you need help with your luggage. We were on the top floor and we traveled with small backpacks so the flight up and down the staircase was not a problem for us at all.

Super nice and welcoming staff, beautiful location and wonderful decoration, very good use of space, nice shower, nice beds, wonderful view of the canal!!

It's not that I did no like, for they can't do much about it, but the stairs in these historical buildings cab be quite steep and narrow... also, it would be awesome if they could at least service an express breakfast, or a breakfast bag (like a coffee/ croissant/fruit combo) because even though the area is super duper nice, it took us some time until we could find a place which was open in the morning we could quickly order breakfast to go before we went to our appointments

The property is in a fabulous location. The day manager is fabulous also. He will support his guests in any way possible. You are in an historic house in an historic part of town. You overlook a canal. You are part of history

The room is small. We like cozy. The shower, toilet fixtures and other amenities are exceptional. The stairs are steep but this is an historic house - all their stairs are steep

The hotel is very nicely set up as a boutique hotel, and is very tastefully done. The location is great with lots of great bars, cafes and restaurants in easy walking distance. I also found the bed to very comfortable and the linens of a high standard. The staff were great and very welcoming.

I was at the very top of the hotel and the wi-fi was a little unstable at times. I would also warn anyone not happy with steep and narrow staircases to probably avoid.

I originally made a booking for 5 nights, and was promised a room on first floor with canal view. I was ecstatic about getting that room, as I am recovering from recent ankle fracture- and at time of booking not sure how my ankle would feel. Later, we had to amend our reservation down to 2 nights. I was disappointed upon arrival at the hotel that our room would be on the 4th floor. Luckily for me, my ankle was ok for navigating those steep steps.

Wonderful & helpful owners. Free coffee. The location is central to everything, quiet & dreamy. We felt right at home.

No A/C - just fans - so if that’s a deal breaker for you during the summer then potentially stay elsewhere.

Amazing location. Comfortable bed. Those are really the only two things I need in a hotel.

The rooms are laughably small, like small small. And the staircase is preposterous. Mountaineering gear would help. I'm 57 and I'm good shape, so no problem. But egads, this was actually funny. But again, an amazing location with a terrific bed.

The location and the staff. The bathroom was very well designed, small and functional. The shower curtain, essential, was there. So many hotels fail to realize that Americans don't like water all over the bathroom floor after their shower. This hotel gets it. I also loved all the hooks for hanging clothes and towels and the luggage stands.

I didn't like that the common seating space was closed after 11pm. Since our quad family room was understandably small, I was looking forward to working and reading down in the salon late into the night.

Typical townhouse style of hotel which was a nice size , lovely view of the canal .

I’m glad we weren’t any further up than the 2nd floor as the stairs were very steep and quite narrow treads in some places. Facilities were not as good as I expected as tea/coffee availability was very limited with the drinks machine only in use when staff were on premises it was locked away at other times .
