Great location in the heart of the "9 Streets" area (between 2 popular/major canals, with relatively easy access to most of the key activities we wanted to check out (5-20 minute walk to pretty much everything we were interested in). Cool room with very unique design features. Very spacious room with all the basics included/covered and they included the mini-fridge items in the basic room costs (not an additional charge if you grab a drink or 2 from the mini-fridge).

The only negatives (and they were minor) were the fact that there was no elevator/lift, so you had to pull your bags up some steep staircases, but not a major issue is you can handle your bags. The keypad/lock system works well once you get familiar with it, but had some issues with how the doorknob and lock mechanism worked initially. Nothing the hotel could do about it, but there was some construction work going on to another house on the block, so we were awoken each morning around 7:30-8am by construction work sounds.

The apartment is very beautiful and comfortable, done with an impeccable taste. A better location in Amsterdam would be hard to find. Above anything else, the host is friendly, helpful, competent and courteous - it was a sheer delight to interact with her.

Very few issues - and only minor ones. The street door needs a new type of lock - the existing one is simply too complicated. The heating was apparently off (at least, I couldn't find a way of turning it up), so the room was a bit too cold for my taste - but I admit that some people might prefer it that way.

Funky hotel. Free minibar. Ability to leave bags in hotel after checkout. Undeniable brilliant location.

I like ability to self check in but the door lock procedure is not easy until you get hang of it. The instructions on the door were also incorrect, saying you enter your room code first. This is wrong. Once unlocked the door knob swivels a few complete cycles like it is not unlocked before catching and opening, which is most unconventional. My goodness it was pricey but probably normal for somewhere so central and comparable.

This little surprise apartment block is a vibe great size apartment, lovely touch with the free beverages and beautiful little touches like post cards and everything could possibly need is provided , The bed is a dream come true + blacked out curtains a must in Amstadam , The street is absolutely perfectly located and has the most quaint boutique shops it’s a total vibe The owner she’s an amazing woman super friendly the place is crazy clean and love the picture opportunity on the walls

Staff not contactable at all and was a little cold but that’s nothing if you weigh up the pros

Beautifully located and exactly as it looks in the pictures-spacious, well decorated throughout and completely clean. The room is at the back of the house and therefore very quiet from outside noise. Communication from Merel was excellent and really helpful.

You could hear the people in the room above moving around quite clearly-but it is an old house with wooden floors-so rally it was to be expected.

The room, once we found it, was in a great location. Easy walking distance to everything we needed. It was clean and the staff and owner were fantastic. Would definitely recommend it.

Coming from Canada, we were surprised that the second floor was actually the third floor there. It was a long way up with suitcases, but it did have a very nice view of the street. Also probably quieter.

- The property had the perfect location of being at the core of Amsterdam city center, next to every major attraction, restaurants, bars etc - Checkin instructions were communicated to us clearly ahead of our arrival which made our check-in rather swift and convenient. - The apartment was clean and well maintained - The bathroom was big, clean, and handy - The fridge was stocked with lots of free drinks, as well as free coffee and tea which was a much-appreciated gesture. - The apartment was cleaned every other day during our 4-night stay which was a good thing for an apartment.

- The building front door access code can be a bit laggy which is a comment shared by many other reviews, apparently it requires a light direct touch on each button for the system to execute the commands swiftly. - The second hassle we had was having to carry our suitcases up very steep stairs to the 2nd floor, which was somehow an inconvenience for us being exhausted after flying for a few hours, but overall this minor issue can be easily overlooked taking the location, functionality and great value of this apartment.

The location was perfect, really lovely area of famous 9 streets. beautiful bridges and that real old amsterdam feeling. The suite was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had very hot weather so a cooling unit in the bedroom was helpful.

While the AC unit was appreciated, we had to leave a window open for the vent which unfortunately let some mozzi’s in and we were both made a buffet of overnight.

We loved this hotel. Merel was brilliant - nothing was too much trouble. She gave us tips she does herself. Local restaurants, cafes and bars all within a stones throw of the hotel. The room was clean, spacious and quiet in a brilliant location. We would definitely recommend this hotel and return when we come back to Amsterdam.

The room was expansive and in the perfect part of town! Easily accessible by foot to the heart of Amsterdam city. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have the living room for relaxing. If you like quiet, I highly recommend booking the "One-Bedroom Huidenstraat Suite" which has a view of the inner courtyard and so quiet, you don't even know you are in the middle of the city, yet you have beautiful large windows that let in a lot of light.

Great stay! The entryway was a little challenging and hidden, but probably on purpose. Finally, the shower has a see-through glass door, so if you are a family or group of friends, this may be a bit awkward! Couples no problem.
