I recently had the opportunity to stay at the SS Rotterdam Hotel and had an overall wonderful experience. The hotel's unique setting on a historic ocean liner provided a charming and nostalgic atmosphere that truly made my stay special. The accommodations were comfortable and well-maintained. My room was spacious and had all the necessary amenities, including a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. The nautical-themed decor added a touch of elegance and reminded me of the ship's rich history. One of the highlights of my stay was exploring the ship itself. The SS Rotterdam has been beautifully preserved and offers a range of facilities and activities. From taking a guided tour to visiting the museum and enjoying a drink at one of the bars, there was always something interesting to do. The hotel staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests.

I did encounter a minor issue during my stay. The Wi-Fi signal in certain areas of the ship was occasionally weak, making it challenging to stay connected.

Excellent breakfast. Well worth the €20 charged. The whole experience was rather like being on a cruise! We particularly appreciated the chauffeur-driven electric minibus from the ship to the metro station at Rijnhavn. The district of Katendrecht, where the ship is moored, is some distance outside the city centre but there’s quite a lot to see, especially around the Hotel New York and the museum of photography. Nice pubs and cafes on the Deliplein, about ten minutes walk away.

The novelty of staying on board a ship, and a magnificent vessel it was! Could not fault the facilities on board. And a unique way of getting around by using the river taxi - awesome! The two concierges were ever so helpful, so special thanks go to George and Pieter.

Very difficult to get to by public transport. The nearest Metro station is a fair distance away, but could be met by the free shuttle taxi from the hotel. A taxi from Rotterdam Centraal station to the SS Rotterdam is expensive. But you cannot fault the hotel for that.

We liked the location, room, food. Also the use of the watertaxi. The doorman was also very friendly and nice.

The service at Lido restaurant was not so great. It took a little too long to take our order( it wasn't really very busy that night) The couple that came after us got their order done before us. That was not nice. The waiter also made a mistake with our order twice. There was a mistake on my bill and when I decided to check the bill the waiter immediately said there was a mistake and went to change it and correct it. It's not our first time on the ss so this was an unusual experience. There was also a lack of warmth in the interaction with the clients. Every interaction was robotic, without feelings. They are working with people of different cultural backgrounds so try to interact, be spontaneous and jolly.

We travelled from Normandie to visit our son in Rotterdam, having been recommended by him to stay on the SS Rotterdam, which is now permanently berthed on the river Maas. The experience did not disappoint. From the moment we saw this magnificent ship from the car park, we knew we were in for a unique experience. Once on board, the reception was warm and efficient, and the de-luxe cabin extremely comfortable - like stepping back in time to a more elegant and glamorous age of sea travel. The ambiance is of her '50s and '60s origins and the refurbishment has been carried out true to her decade of construction. Facilities on board are excellent too, with bars and restaurants to choose from, though we only used the Lido restaurant for an excellent breakfast and a couple of moderately priced dinners. One minor consideration is that the ship is docked the other side of the river from the city centre. A water taxi service (4,50 euro one way) is the quickest and most exciting route - another experience in its own right!

Nothing comes to mind, so I won't try to think of anything. However if at all possible (and the Dutch climate being what it is), plan a visit when the weather is good, because then the open aft deck serves as an excellent outdoor seating/bar area with access to the Lido restaurant.

The man who checked us in was great! Very friendly, nice, and informative. The room was outstanding! I want exactly the same one next time! Breakfast was very good. The tour guide was great! Loved the period music playing throughout the ship!

Tough to phone a water taxi to get back to the hotel BUT I phoned the hotel and they took care of it right away, so move this comment to the like part! Really it would be nice if your van took us to the train station so we wouldn’t have had to call a cab.

Old ocean liner that still emits the vibe of a cruise when on board. Rooms have been nicely done in a fifties style; but with modern bath rooms. There is an outdoor area with pool on the top deck. And a very nice little wine bar on the promenade deck. Taxi boats stop directly at the ship. But the city can also easily be reached by bike (can be rented from the hotel).

Maybe a bit remote and not quite in walking distance of the city (but ok by bike or when taking the taxi boats). Rooms and bath rooms are of course rather small; but you are on an ocean liner, after all.

nice welcome from hotel staff, room was amazing, bed where comfy. the ship was maintained well and everything was found as expected. we took the historic tour through the ship and saw the machine room. the staff was able to explain everything about the ship and the audio guide which was included in the tour helped us to understand the history of the ship. parking space is in the same area, which was very convinient.

The room was big and comfortable. There is a lot of place for 3 persons. The bathroom is also good size. The beds are comfy with good pillows and warm blankets. The breakfast was really good - a wide range of products for every taste.

The room was not warm enough and although we switched the heating on, it didn't really change the room temperature. The good thing is that the blankets were really warming and you can sleep very well.

The whole experience of being in a monumental ship that cruised the world and that you can relive that feel. My daughter lost her precious Welpje but the crew was very helpful, found it and returned it to her. The kids love the ship and especially the breakfast and captains lounge for their mocktails

The stains in the carpet of the room was the only thing to mention
