I travel often for short visits, and not often do I find places that exceed my expectations. This is definitely an excellent place. Staffs were very friendly and helpful, Monique who did my checkin was very helpful and gave me some good advice on transport and places to visit. Joyace, who was always with a big smile, gave me some good tips about the city. Other staffs were also very kind and friendly. The place and the room were very colorful, vibrant, and clean, guest kitchen, Toilets, and showers were clean and tidy. The location was great, lots of nice places within the walking distance. I enjoyed my stay at this place.

I couldn’t begin to list all the things I liked about this place but I’ll try a few: excellent breakfast (well worth the low price), the most friendly staff, warm and cozy feeling around the place, location of the hostel being right in the action of Rotterdam, delicious beers on tap, fun events each day (never got to try pasta day but I wish I had), and discounted tickets for various touristy things. I was travelling alone and had never been to Rotterdam before, but this lot made me feel at home and were willing to help with any of my requests! They were all also super knowledgable about the area!! Shout out to Sam and Max, unfortunately I didn’t get every staff members name but you were all great. Thanks for a lovely stay, if I’m back in Rotterdam I’ll come here for sure x

Literally nothing

The ambience and feel of the place is cool and very inviting. All possible facilities were available. The staff were amazing - so friendly, accommodating and helpful. If the weather outside is frightful, then there's plenty of books & magazines to read, a piano to play, and super kitsch ornaments and crockery added to the feel of the breakfast/social area. The cages under the beds were a super idea for keeping items safe and were a great size. Other guests were pleasant which is good when sharing a dorm with strangers.

As it was super cold outside, they could have turned the heating on in the breakfast/social area. Some more hooks on the walls in the dorms to hand clothes/coats etc while sleeping would have been good.

The hostel is super easy to get to, just over the road from a tram stop, and you can walk to the water in 5-10 minutes. It is very welcoming and there is a warm and bustling cafe on the ground floor which was lovely for both breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening. The cafe was not super party and even when bustling you could still get a good night sleep in the dorms above. I stayed in a large dorm (8-12 beds) and it was great - lots of light, comfy beds with curtains and enough space for everyone. It was a great base to walk or tram to whatever you want to see in Rotterdam. I would recommend.

The hostel is in a protected building and had quirky decor from the moment we walked in. We were greeted by a welcoming, friendly and professional staff member. We were upgraded to The Clock Tower room which was exceptional - the history behind it, its large size, the 2 circular windows where the large clocks use to be, the comfort of the beds, the facilities (our own shower and kitchenette) all for an amazing price! Breakfast was included and was plenty for us. The manager (I didn't get his name) chatted to us and was full of information. There's a well stocked bar too. We didn't stay long enough to avail of all the services (games room) but we will definitely stay there again. The location was great!! Thanks to the team for a lovely stay - it added to our overall positive experience of Rotterdam....

I liked how friendly the staff is. I realize I asked them a lot of questions because I've never been in such a place before. And they were all so welcoming. The bathrooms are so comfy, too. The hostel is placed on a beautiful street!

I didn't like that after checking in after their working hours, I didn't get an introduction to how things function. I tried to figure out some stuff on my own. And still, they were there to help, so everything is fine.

Was in a private room with a shared bathroom and honestly was a much better experience than I expected. The bed was very comfortable, the room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was pretty decent, didn't really struggle for space. Bar wasn't too loud, excellent location to get to pretty much anything I wanted in Rotterdam. Staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Bathroom lighting was quite dark, on the men's bathroom it would turn off quite frequently.

LOVELY staff, v kind and welcoming. Our room was spacious and had lots of character. Nice to have water, towels and a kettle. The kitchen facilities were really good too. Bathrooms fine and clean. We had a very nice breakfast: plentiful and inexpensive (5€ pp). The hostel staff were very helpful with luggage storage. It was noisy though (traffic late & early and a group of boys all along our corridor) but I guess noise is usually a factor at hostels and there were free earplugs 😊). We had a great time and a comfortable night. Would def stay again

Road noise and noisy party all along our corridor. They were excited and it wasn’t the hostel’s fault, but the door banging etc was the only real downside

The Room Hostel is located in an amazing historical building. The rooms are themed, which is fun. Staff is great, very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is great value (order ahead). If needed there is a nice communal kitchen space. Downtown, Witte de With area etc. can be easily reached by foot or tram (or rental bikes). Tips in the area: harbor taxi, Wereldmuseum, Kunsthal. String of bars and fun places to eat down the street and supermarket around the corner. Would definitely recommend!

It was very warm in our room, no AC , just a fan. And a heads up, no elevator, so quite some stairs to walk up and down.

staff was extremely helpful! Sam especially. he showed me around the hostel and even helped me with my luggage. loved the sitting area and even has a guest kitchen. walking distance to many restaurants but if you stay here I highly recommend El Graucho steakhouse right next door! amazing and reasonable price. make reservations though. it’s a local favorite.

if you have trouble with stairs this is not the place for you. there is no elevator. we had originally been given a room on 3rd floor and Sam maneuvered some guests and put us on 1st floor. I would definitely stay here again
